Used to be free and informative. Not so great anymore. Disappointing.

A great app but the comments added a very fun element to it and I don't use the app as much now that they are gone. I agree with other comments, add a filter or an option to turn them on and off. I miss seeing everyone 'interact' with the sharks and cheer them on!

Had this app installed for less than 10 min, and it crashed half a dozen times. Also, website and app do not match tracking information even remotely. Need some serious work. Cool concept, as I live on the Gulf, and would find the tracking interesting, but the app is completely worthless.

It's a really good app and I haven't experienced any bugs. This said the app versus the website has very little sharks shown. If you go on to the website there are far more sharks around you compared to the app and I think it would be a five out of five if the had all that they have on the website on the app because the app seems smoother to use.

Update now locks you out of features, obnoxiously forcing a bright white popup over a dark screen when you click on features you used to have access to, like simply viewing additional shark photos. Tons of things all over the screen that are unnecessary. Peeved I updated. On the verge of deleting because of this money grab attitude because now I never want to use it. This is not how you get sponsorship. Also mislabeling major body of water to a not real name? What other information is wrong??

I reallyy like the app overall. The photos of the sharks makes you get to know each individual more personally, and each shark's track makes you learn more about their behaviour. I'm amazed at how we can now observe the sharks so closely now, and I think that you should give the app a chance if you're a shark lover 🦈🦈

After trying the first time and having nothing load, I recieved a message to try again. I redownload the app and it works perfectly. My 10 yr old son and I spent a good hr looking at all the different sharks and sealife tagged. He went and downloaded it as well. We had fun seeing where the sharks all swim!! Growing up I was obsessed with sharks, I hope this peaks an interest in him as well!

Great app but it needs more personalization. Make it to where we can favorite or follow the animals individually, and add an option for push notifications for pings of the animals you follow or favorite. Ive also noticed the use of the same photo for multiple sharks. I may have david, while someone else has, (for example rosco) yet both profiles display the same image, if there is time to input david into the system there is time to include the correct photos.

Only issues I have are: 1. Some of 5he icons are grouped so closely together or on top of each other - which makes clicking on individual sharks tricky at times. 2. Some sharks (Katherine, George) have disappeared from the data base. Probably due to age of tracking equipment, but an explanation would be nice.

The app is a great concept and it's interesting and an important tool for the environment. However the data and filtering of data is in catagories that are of no use. Instead of separating data between location and last ping, I would need to see all data aggregated and be able to be filtered either way. Regards swimming we'd want to know location and relevant, latest and timely pings on the maps and same data set. Currently when searching location by map or 'near me', untimely pings are shown

Literally my favorite app!! I love sharks!! It's very nice to check in every day and see how my favorite sharks are doing and when they last pinged. It's a bit depressing when they don't ping in a week or two, though lmao But that's out of the apps control, and that was the only real flaw I find with it besides the sorting system. Other than that, I love it!

This app has been so much fun for my granddaughter ( age 6) and me. We use it to complement our environmental studies and the idea naming the sharks is a great way to give them worth in a child's mind. I also wish there were more checkpoints. Right now she is so excited that it looks like Crystal and Andromache are traveling together!

Loved the app, was so easy to use, and fun to find out which sharks and other sea life are close to your home. Now it's money based (I've already donated $), harder to navigate, and it looks like most of the sharks have disappeared. Very disappointing.

This app is great. Each shark has a picture of the type shark tagged, and explains some behaviors, how the name was chosen, and you can also see their tracks. I like to follow how long it took the shark to swim the distance on the long uninterrupted tracks. Their power and beauty are awesome. I plan to follow Ocearch for some time.

This organization is scummy. Do not support. I've researched them online and they’ve killed at least one great white (in South Africa) and maimed many others. Their use of oversized equipment and then exhausting the great white to near death is bad enough but then they decide to then pull it out of the water for a photo shoot which puts abnormal stress on the great whites internal organs. This is an insult to marine biology. Horrible people.

Was great before update. Now it really doesn't give much unless you subscribe. Deleting.

Very cool and interesting app, navigation (for me at least) is very easy, would be cool for a date filter as stated by other reviews. HOWEVER the app gives you the option to view other animals - there is not a single listing for whales (which does make sense, why can I search for whales when there are none?), most of the turtles were tagged in 2017 and last ping was within 4 months, etc. Most sharks also show last pings from 2017, did they get eaten? Died of old age?

Really neat way to get involved (virtually) with tracking sea life, especially sharks, but looks like other types might be involved in the future. You get to see a picture of the animal (as it was caught and tagged). Lots of good FAQs, such as does the tagging hurt the animal? Ways to help, scientific data, etc. Coolest of all is seeing how far the animal moves and over what time period. I'm hoping to involve my grandson aged 4 (now) and help him become super sharp on sharks!!!

this is such an amazing app but still can't figure out how to see anmaiks other than sharks and turtles

It shows everything, but you can't tell when it happened until you click on it, and some could be several years ago. I would love this app if you could filter by dates, like ytd, last 7 days, 24 hours, most recent, etc. Then this would be well worth 5 stars, for sure. Imagine if it could send a notification if a shark was pinged within x number of miles of you. So many missed opportunities with this app.
