Description
Been using OCR Plugin for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you use your phone’s camera to capture text from printed materials like books and newspapers. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do: you just point your camera at the text and the plugin will scan and recognize it. There’s also a feature where you can save the text and access it later. And the app works with some dictionaries and thesaurus apps, so you can look up words you’ve scanned.
Look, if you need an OCR tool for your other apps, this one’s worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the text recognition doesn’t always work great, especially with poor lighting or blurry images. But overall it does the job.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on OCR Plugin. I've tested a bunch of text scanning apps and this one's pretty good, especially for the free price. The core functionality works well most of the time, and it's nice that it integrates with other apps. But the text recognition can be hit or miss, and I've found it struggles with anything other than clean, high-quality printed text. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall though, it's a useful little tool that gets the job done.
