Reviews for Ombi

For TV shows I have two directories. "TV Shows" and "Kids TV". When I get a request from another user to add a new series, it needs to ask which directory I want it placed into. When I create the request with my user which is an admin user, it asks and works fine, but not if someone else creates the request. 5 stars if this was fixed.

Needs refinement Mobile app is a far cry from the web app. No user management, TV library not showing despite showing on Web app. There's a whole host of other things missing and the interface definitely needs work. Once these are done I might review my score. Until then stay away and use the web app.

I was more than happy to donate a few dollars for Ombi development, but didn't expect this cash grab. $1.40 (CAD) just to see requests, and another $5.50 just to approve them? The app is not refined enough to be worth it. Can't support any app that uses a "Pay to get it, pay more to use it" scheme. If you're going to charge more, the base app should be free. Not 2 charges. I didn't see mention of the second charge for "Admin" features in the description. Refunded.

Immediately disappointed. Notifications don't function at all (neither automated ones or manual messages sent from the notification settings page). I struggled to get connected initially as the server url page requires lowercase for http/https but it's automatically capitalized. Music requests can't be seen or managed from the app, you can't view or manage reported issues, the 'enable haptics' setting resets to on every time the app opens, every page has to be reloaded manually, and hitcharlimit

App is slow to load search results whereas the web app loads almost instantly. The touch sensitivity is also off. It's too sensitive and I end up clicking things I don't intend to. Lastly, you can't respond to user reported issues through the app. Ombi itself is great but I'll stick with using the browser.

App works perfectly, love it, you won't be disappointed, if your server is running right you shouldn't notice any problems with the app. Have it paired with my ombi docker on unraid server. Quick note: at the time of writing this review you need to be on version 4+ (version 3 has some trouble)

2 stars. The app only does a few things and a couple of those it doesn't do well. It integrates with a couple apps well, but somehow cannot get integration with Plex right. Some movies it can see what Plex has, others it won't. It especially hates newly added content. I would give 3, but I had to pay for the app and then it's asking me for more money to do admin things.

I encountered a problem after upgrading to a new major version and expressed my unhappiness here. The dev got in touch immediately and helped diagnose and resolve the issue. Five stars for excellent user support. Before the upgrade version I'd say the app itself was a 3.5 or 4 but with the new version I feel it's been stepped up to a 5, particularly with the straightening out of the double purchase whammy they had before. Very well done!

Pretty good so far. Needs the ability to choose root folders and quality profiles though. Keep up the good work! running version 2.2.23 of the android app. I don't see a settings button anywhere in app uther than to see my user profile. ( sorry I don't have a better way to reply)

Worth every penny! The developer is awesome - I encountered a configuration issue, and he personally went in my server, figured it out and walked me through the fix. He even then went back and updated the codebase to facilitate this - totally not necessary but appreciated. And, he did all of it in less than 24 hours! This guy really owns his work takes pride in it.

Had a few issues logging in to the updated version of the app and so I raised an issue in the GitHub forum, which was almost instantly answered by developer. He spent the next day and a bit helping me troubleshoot exactly what was going on a and why I couldn't login. I'm now up and running and the new application is amazing! Such an improvement over the previous version and it's incredibly intuitive and user friendly. Highly recommended for anyone with their own media server setup.

3 stars out of 5 because the app doesn't sync like the website. Content that is available doesn't show as available unless I manually request it and mark it as available. Also, I can't enable notifications. I've paid for the full version but when I tap the button to enable notifications nothing happens and it still shows that notifications are off.

Absolutely love the app, been using it for a few years now. Works like it should. Although, there is just one major thing missing, please address. This should be a small request, a request which I have seen some other folks asking for as well. Can you please make a version of the app which is made for Android TV or if possible make the current app work for both Android Mobile and Android TV. It would be so much easier to request a movie right from the couch, rather then whopping out the phone in order to do it. I have the remote to the Android TV in my hand already, why add another device. Thanks a bunch for any of your considerations towards this request.

The latest version has fixed most of the bugs. It has come a long ways but there is one feature that's in the browser version that's not in the app. In app you cannot click on an actor/actress picture to list everything they have stared in. Which you can do in a browser. I end up using the browser more offten because of this. I hope this gets added.

Functionless, clunky, and NOT worth paying a cent for. I'm more than happy to donate to the WebUI, because that seems to be decent. But I thought having an app would be easier for my Plex users to easily add requested media, but just signing in was a nightmare. This app has zero functionality, no filtered search, no useful settings. Wasted my money on this and they can forget me donating to their Web app. Don't get it, it's more than useless. Want a refund, even if it is $3.

App works ok, there are lots of small bugs and odd ui choices that make it look and feel a little janky. Notifications always come through twice if they come through at all, there is always a blank box at the top where it is supposed to show you the open requests, and syncing with what's available on your server. I'm using this with Jellyfin but I recently switched from Ombi to Jellyseer which seems to have everything this does and more, all while being much more polished (and free using PWA)

I desperately want to be able to click on an actor or studio or genre and have it show me more content from that categorization. Or to be able to follow an actor so their work is automatically requested. I also want to be able to request collections through the app. MCU? check. Star wars? check. Jason Statham? check.

What a great little app this is. I've set up Ombi and managed to work out how to get it tunnelled through Cloudflare. Then I've set this app up. Now I can use it to monitor my requests and it even notifies me when my friends put a request in so I can set them going. Best couple of quid I've spent this week

It gets the job done, but hasn't seen a major update some time. It's quite slow with most actions, and also packs the ability to request 4K versions like the webUI supports. I like this app and have used it for a very long time, but I do wish it would receive some more love.

The Ombi experience as a whole is just not there. The approval system leaves features to be desired. It blatantly just doesn't work, and requests aren't updated if at all. It does correctly connect to Radarr and Sonarr but it has very little built in control over how things get sent. The app has been in development for 4 years and features are still missing. I would not recommend it for unless you really have the money to spend on something you probably won't use.
