This app is quirky. I'm only allowed 500 characters, so I'll try to describe it. When using it with Android Auto, it must also be running and displaying on your phone. When storing offline maps, they're really stingy with the space they let you use. The map sizes are so small that it takes me many maps to store a large enough area to be useful. Other than the above, it's a pretty good app. I'll keep using it, hoping they continue to make improvements.

The app is actually extremely good. I absolutely loved using it in Moab and it really is essential. There's just one major issue that kept me from giving it 5 stars. The app is SUPER power hungry, it drains the battery on my phone fast and I have to plug it in every few hours of using it. It also makes my phone run extremely hot. I have rebooted my phone, made sure no background apps are simultaneously running, but it still makes my phone get real hot. The app needs more efficient programming.

Notifications regularly re-enable themselves. That's unacceptable, and a major reason for my rating. It's not the only one though. That aside, the app is _fine_, and gathers data from multiple sources. It's just not specialized enough to ever pay for, given you can get the same data on maps for cheaper or free from elsewhere. And given other gps apps are just nicer to use, this app doesn't bring anything special to the table to justify it's price.

The app is quite useless. I downloaded it to hopefully find some nice free camping spots since I'm tight on money but still want to go outside. Buttons don't work, it gives little-to-no information about trails, trails that I know exist aren't even on the map, and most of the features I would need while out and about are locked behind a subscription (I'm so tired of everything always being locked behind subscriptions). Uninstalled immediately.

UPDATE: Their customer service is great! They were really friendly and got back to me quickly. Unfortunately, I think I've just got a really bad bug and can't get an account started. On the email/password screen, it freezes after I enter everything and then it does nothing. I'll wait until they update the login feature and try again at that point.

I only went on one route, so my experience is limited. Part of the route was what I expected, gravelly, up and down hills. Then it went into an overgrown area I could barely get through. I was riding a bicycle which made things worse. The app needs to indicate the modes of transportation that are appropriate. Also, part of the route was over an area "Private, do not enter".

After upgrading to Elite sylubscription during the Memorial Day sale, I can no longer use this app with Android Auto. I get an error message that says I need to purchase the Premium subscription which is the version below Elite. onX support has acknowledged the issue but has not resolved it. They have become unresponsive to emails asking for an update on the issue.

Haven't had much time lately to use the app, but when I did it worked fine for the most part. The bad part of this app is their auto renewal. Since I haven't had much time to wheel lately I didn't want to pay $99.99 for another year on an app I don't use right now. These guys say you have to call Stripe to cancel. Who the heck is Stripe? They have no contact info or means to speak to anyone, that's who. So I got charged another $99.99 and these people just lost a customer. It's a scam. Don't.

what happened? I just reinstalled this app to find most of the features that used to be included in the free version are now locked behind the subscription paywall. Additionally, as an opponent of subscription-based software, I can't rate this higher than 2 stars. I remember activity, trail type, and difficulty filters being available in free. Again, what happened to buy-it-and-have-it purchases? SaaS sucks.

I was to save our trails at Easter Jeep Safari as a trail leader. Every time I left the app to take a picture or anything else ìt would ask if I wanted to dismiss or resume the current trail. No matter what it deleted the prior part of the trail without saving. It didn't matter if I hit pause first. Very disappointed as this was the only reason we got this app. The only way it would save the whole trail is if you didn't leave the app at all throughout the day.
