← Back to Opendoor - Buy and Sell Homes

The overall concept of the Opendoor service is appealing and gives individuals more time in the day to check out houses. But, the application is a disaster. It took about 4-5 minutes to get through it and open one house. We were not able to open the next 3 houses in the area because the application would loop back to the home page or the sign in page (even though I was already signed in). We'd also get a message that the house wasn't found, even though it's listed on the website on my PC.

Excellent App and company.

Great app & company. Will improve greatly in the future!!

most convenient way to sell a home!

used for assessing home value and optionality. may need to move soon

great app super helpful. really eaay to use and helpful.

Few glitches, but it's a great app with a great purpose!

Best Way To Buy A Home. No Hassle, No Pushy Sales. Just Great Through And Through. Would Recommend To Any New Home Buyer!

Easy way of buying or selling homes. Great and easy experience

Great app, very helpful and easy to use!

Quick and simple transaction for real estate standards, in my opinion.

With the new management team (founding partners + former COO of Shopify as new CEO), this will be the app to totally disrupt the way houses are bought and sold! After checking out the app and the future plans, we will definitely be using OpenDoor to sell our house in the spring!

it was a scam. my heart is broken intro a zillion pieces. these people even had me download an app, put a number in it and it opened the door. Beautiful house inside and out. I REALLY thought I was getting ready to get this house for rent WITH a voucher I WAS TOLD. You shouldn't do people this way because it's wrong. it's just wrong. I was almost ready put up a deposit, pay my part and sign these papers. What thrill do you get out of hurting people's Hope's and Dreams? you want that feel

Under new leadership, look for significant updates to this app as they drive the transition from clunky analog real estate transitions to seamless/stress free digital experience.

Can't even get past the initial screens to look at houses. Several screens have a "that's right" button, but no other buttons in the case that it's not right. I'm not interested in selling my home, so I'm stuck and can't get in. It's like they don't want me to buy a house. Edit: after three attempts of circling through I was able to get in the app. But the Lot Size filter doesn't work at all, and that's our most important search criteria.

The app is so broken, a lot of issues, a lot of places need optimization. For example, many times after i select one day for my tour, it suddenly jump to a different date. And the feed, it takes forever to load, and if i view something else then go back to the feed again, then i need to reload the feed, which is pretty annoying. Plz hire some solid engineers and QAs to do the work!

Poor experience. Went to see a home listed by opendoor, they insisted there was a "keypad" to enter a code. No keypad. We stood outside for 30 minutes before tech support could help us (had to call them twice). They insisted there was a keypad, but nothing to be found. No wonder the listing has been sitting for so long! +2 stars because they were very friendly and understanding just incredibly slow and difficult.

The opendoor app used to display home information when you unlock, but now you need to jump through hoops to find out about the home. The bigger issue, however, is that the app now forces location data to always be available through underhanded means. I only gave you location data while using the app for a reason. If you have security reasons for needing it otherwise, make that clear, rather than forcing me to force close the app when it's been over an hour since I left the last home.

My experience has been awful and we haven't even got to discussing price. It started with them calling me by the wrong name. Not a name linked to my email or one I entered. Just a random name. But hey, mistakes happen. I set up a meeting via Zoom. They failed to send me the link on time. They did not provide the meeting passcode and zoom would not let me join. I spent time uploading videos for them instead. Now the home assessment was cancelled without so much as a text or call. Not happy.

The all day, open house idea really appeals to my needs and my free time regarding time off which has been late evenings after work. I have only had one house that didnt not unlock out of about 10 houses. I have been prompted to call-in once or twice for security purposes to get the code but that is no big deal as I am not up to "no good." I've actually just taken the opportunity afforded to me to take my time & see as many houses as necessary in order to make a sound purchase. My complaint is the app having sooooo many glitches. It never works smoothly, freezes more often than not and just doesn't respond most of the time! It's such a good concept and that's the only thing that keeps me coming back and trying again.
