I didn't even notice for weeks, I would close & just use my other browsers. Assuming this very annoying issue clearly were the websites, but the same issue on 50+ sites let's say, clearly not. ive never experienced this before & i did internet tech support for 20+ YOU are apparently a great browser. But.. everytime ive used ur browser for the first one ever, I immediately get advertising & its videos always. So i dont even get a chance to ever type in a search. I get annoyed & close it!
Reviews for Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser
← Back to Opera Mini: Fast Web BrowserI love opera mini with all the cool features and free data (though I barely use it) so my concern is when I wanted to keep today's streak the reward was under maintenance I want to say that when it is available maybe there should be a notification so I won't miss the streak and restart from square 1. I have had this problem before so please don't make me start again after the maintenance is completed. thanks 🙏
It's fast, can save a lot of data and as I use it on multiple devices, the sync feature is very much appreciated. Sometimes it doesn't do the best as a full-featured multi-media browser but it is getting better all the time. 90% of the time it's just dandy for multi-media work. I like tabbed browsing too. Update 5/11/20: For most part, previous gripes have been addressed and I'm quite happy with Opera. It's a bit different but gets better all the time.
Does not block Start page, Google, YouTube or Facebook ads and can not import or export bookmarks. Also, can not choose to view websites in mobile or PC mode. Many websites display only in one mode or the other when I want the opposite. For YouTube it does not auto rotate when in full screen and can not change video quality. I will be looking for a new browser.
The app continually closes, it becomes unresponsive and I am sick of seeing the Send Feedback link when it force closes twice. I have sent feedback more than once and no resolve. (Update 1-22) still is unresponsive, still won't load a 2nd tab, and no response from the company. I had to remove another star from the rating. If it continues they will owe me stars update 2/27/19. now your app doesnt load and freezes continuously. If I could give you a -3 for a score, I would give it.
I want to make Opera my default browser SO bad! But they've spread all the features I need across 3 or 4 versions. I want my phone, PC and tablet to sync, and to be able to send info between them...but Mini's MyFlow requires that you scan the QR code, and I've tried many times..taking a pic to scan, adjusting brightness, screenshots, everything. The PC version suggest u can use a code but that's on a different one that can't sync speed dials. One has pinboards, no flow. Lots of time wasted.
I've been using it since 2009, when I was using just a standard mobile phone. Now, on modern Android phones it has gotten much worse, since they started to put up ads Ads to block ads is not my idea of an ad-blocker. Now the apo takes forever to load, and can't even load any websites. So now I fond myself using Google Chrome. If you have to put ads, at least do so in a way that doesn't ruin the entire browsing experience. So thanks for ruining such a great app.
Used to be a great app. The compression they use to save you data and speed up page loads are the reason I used it for years. Also the ad blocking They messed all that up now that they replace website ads with their own ads which are even more annoying. Instead of taking you to the page you want, they give you a full page scam ad for a "raffle" that you can't easily exit from every once in a while Time to look for alternatives. Too bad Opera had to sell their browser off to a Chinese firm.
I love using opera mini, it's a really nice app, great Job But the ads, pop ups are really annoying, pls do something about the ad blocking, brave browser aggressive ad blocking is really impressive, no pop ups, no annoying ads whatsoever. And the desktop feature doesn't really work well, it's not efficient, some sites crashes or no change at all when it's turned on, pls fix this also. Thank you.
I use Opera on my PC as well. I like the speed dial feature. One other thing is that when viewing videos, it tends to constantly pop up with the option to play or download the file. As well as when going to some websites, there's a page with a static (not video) ad beforehand, but you can click the x to skip it.
So far, so good. Had to replace Naked Browser because some of the features suddenly broke. Opera seems to be picking up the slack rather well. One request would be an option to make text smaller than the smallest setting, as the text is still to large for my liking. Beyond that, i really have no complaints about the browser right now.
Feels a little more stable and less laggy than the beta version. Unfortunately I have to wonder why the devs removed the back/forward navigation buttons in tablet mode. Other than that, it's pretty streamlined and convenient, but man being unable to quickly go back to a previous page is a huge downside. It would also benefit from a "true" dark theme like the full versions. I do love how it can easily sync to my other devices, including open tabs!
Worst browser I have ever tried wow. There's a symbol of a football (soccer) permanently on main bottom toolbar that takes you to football game scores. I looked everywhere and couldn't remove it. I'm not interested in football scores why is it there? Then I tried a couple of different sites and some were in desktop mode and I couldn't turn them to normal mobile style. Huge pain of a browser and nothing positive to say about it. Skip.
Good, fast, & fully equipped browser, plus it's small which is always a plus for devices with limited storage space. UPDATE Just discovered a "feature". If you interact with the app in the wrong way, not sure how, but it reduces the app display to 1/4 of the screen. You can't return it to the normal size until you force close the app, and until you do it follows you everywhere making it impossible to interact with it or other apps it's transposed over. TERRABLE feature! - 3 stars until this gone
I used to love using the app - the cross platform capabilities were great! Unfortunately, now there are ads when a page is loading (including sites like Wikipedia), and some sites are completely inaccessible (such as Twitter), or the formatting of the page is broken. Hopefully it's just a minor issue, but I'm a bit concerned at the number of issues which are popping up.
I liked the idea of a mini browser. But it was a bit of the opposite of what I expected. I always turn off speed dial, news, etc. Have for years on different browsers. I don't care for extra features like that. But I do want my own search engine and I do want full control of privacy settings. If they're able to be changed, I can't see where. Even after a Google search. Uninstalled.
You know, last time I checked, a browser that prides itself on ad-blocking shouldn't be serving you ads. Apparently, I am mistaken. Ads show up in your "news feed" (which is basically impossible to personalize), they show up full screen when you click on links, and they constantly plague your browsing with utter stupidity. The browser itself barely works, with it often not even sending you to pages when you type an address. This is utter trash. IF YOU WANT A BROWSER, USE EDGE OR FIREFOX!
Opera mini is fine. Have been using it for a few years, and besides the desktop mode, most of the updates have been meh (desktop mode was great). This latest update though, now everytime I open the address bar, it shows trending Google searches, which is annoying since there's no option to disable it. It's not a deal breaker as typing anything makes it go away, I just don't see the point of adding it to the browser I can go to the website for that.
Great concept, but it doesn't work in practice. Multiple people have complained of the following error when data savings mode (Automatic, Extreme, or High) is on. They receive the error message: "Web page not available. The page may have been deleted, the URL is incorrect or some other error occurred." The posted solution is to delete Mini and to reinstall it. But that doesn't work. The browser only works when data savings mode is turned off. And in that case Chrome actually works better.
Opera mini is such a great browser with such a great feature that makes it stand above the rest; its compression feature that helps save you on your data is amazing. However, the ads are really getting annoying and Opera mini didnt have them for a long time. Its a shame, since I'd give it a higher score if it wasn't for the ads. Therefore, I rate it at 3 stars, slightly above average overall. In the end, I'd consider another browser.
