Description
Been using Opera: Private Web Browser for a couple months now. It’s basically a super customizable web browser with a free built-in VPN, ad-blocker, and tracker-blocker. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kinda stuff.
Here’s what you can do: browse the web with extra privacy and security, block those annoying ads, and even sync your tabs and bookmarks across devices. There’s also a dark mode which is pretty cool. And the customization options – you can change the wallpaper, themes, and more to really make it your own.
Look, if you’re sick of the regular old browser and want something with more features, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the VPN can be a bit slow sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Opera: Private Web Browser. I've tested a bunch of privacy-focused browsers and this one's pretty solid. The built-in VPN is super convenient, and the ad-blocker works really well - no more annoying pop-ups or video ads. And customization is a big plus too, you can make it look exactly how you want. On the downside, the VPN does slow things down a bit, and I found the syncing between devices to be a little spotty at times. But overall, it's a great alternative to the basic Chrome or Safari if you value your privacy and want more control.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Free built-in VPN to protect your privacy
- Effective ad-blocker that actually works
- Tons of customization options for themes, wallpapers, etc.
- Sync your browsing data across devices
- Simple to use but powerful under the hood
Cons
- VPN can slow down browsing speeds a bit
- Syncing between devices is not always reliable
- Might be overkill if you just need a basic browser
- Some advanced features take time to get used to
