You are supposed to be able to take photos of your tests and find you LH ratio. However, the app always just says "0" as the reading even when there are clearly two lines. I have to get into a very specific light, a blue background, dim lighting then it will read. The same strip read 0, 0.4, 0.75 each depending on the light. I would say the app is pretty worthless if you are using it to track your test results. Used to work just fine. It's been in the last 2 months it no longer works.
Reviews for Ovulation Tracker App – Premom
I think this app has potential and I like the concept. However, the option to manually take a picture of your strip will more often than not result in blurred pictures that then leads to the app reading the result as consistently "low" despite the test line progressively becoming darker and darker with each day. It was also a big turn off to be forced to give an ovulation app access to my location, identitifiers, and data tracking in order to use it. It seems like an overstep and invasive.
It's a useful app. However, the constant and aggressive pressure to upgrade membership to their paid level ("find out more" in the app is code for "pay a bunch of money to get access to additional crumbs of information"), and the ever-changing nature of what you have access to with the various membership (or unpaid) levels, is really annoying. Also, the privacy policy is unnerving, and there seems to be no way to get access to your own data. Wish I had been logging with a different app.
I have LOVED prenom! Its been so easy to use and really helpful. So detailed. But it updated recently and it hasn't been able to calculate accurate t/c ratios. I used it for like 3 months before and it was perfect. Now it's giving me a whole lot of zeros when in reality it's like .5. I also started getting weird scammy notifications from the app like "we've sent $900 to your chase account "
This is the glitchiest app I've ever downloaded. It likes to crash frequently, or not even load in the first place (which is not good when you are working with time-sensitive tests) and drains my phone battery even when closed. The built-in scanner hasn't worked once, so I have to manually upload the results each time. The cycle analysis feature requires a PREMIUM PLAN, so as if the over-priced test strips aren't bad enough, now you have to pay the company even more to use its full functions. 👎
Good to keep track of events but it is awful at manually reading the tests. **EDIT** I miss wrote manually. What I meant was it is awful at automatically reading the tests. It always tells me my levels are at 0 when they are very distinctly not. I was hoping it would take the guess work out of me entering in the values. It does not. Also it would be nice if there was a way to show all comments or all days that a specific event happened similar to the Lh graphs.
Still doesnt work - in response to my previous review, where you must not have read my issue as you told me to "reboot my phone." i had to do that twice just to get it unfrozen after this app messed up the phone when trying to set it up. and yes, my phone is up to date. It is a Note 9. I will just stick to Fertility Friend and Ovia. no issues with those.
July '22: Getting frustrated with how different the readings are for the same strip under the same lighting! It's not reliable anymore. The point of the app is to take away the guesswork, but I'm back to visually estimating TC ratio... I got this app because I absolutely love the Premom OPKs and the app scans them & interprets results for you. Awesome. I love having so much data about my fertility. And it's free. Amazing. Lots of paid options for cycle reports & ask-an-expert features.
Update: I received great customer service for the issues I had. One issue (missing icons in chart) is gone, and the lower temp issue is a matter of them supporting lower (skin) temperature logging sometime in the future. It's a pretty good app, it interprets the data you enter, including temperature, and pinpoints your ovulation real-time based on that and even corrects itself if it was wrong before. A couple of things I don't like is it doesn't support lower temperatures entered (Ava bracelet skin temperature), they sometimes don't appear correctly in the chart, displaying a slightly higher temp as a drop and slightly lower as an increase. Luckily it only happens with lower temps. Also, OPK readings are ok but when editing, line colors don't match test colors.
This app was great until, as others mentioned, it would not open without allowing it to download other apps to your phone. No thanks! Sounds fishy to me. And now I have almost a year's worth of tracking data lost. Grrr. I hope they fix it. But for now, I'm sucking it up and buying a paid fertility taking app instead.
