Reviews for Paddle Ways - Lets Go Paddling

App is buggy and freezes up. I have to quit app and restart. There are dam icons on almost every rural ponds and lake around me. Problem is these are almost all on private property. No need for icons on private property lakes. $50, no. App needs more work.

good for paddling unfamiliar water, user interface could be improved/simplified

The app could use some work. the app functions slow after uploading my personal map files.

Nice to be able to find put in locations. measure the distance on the water is very helpful

I like the app. It is a very good app to use to find place to go paddling and have a good time out in the water.

Within the first few minutes of using the app to explore paddling locations around me, I'm already impressed with the free version. Will update if this review requires a change.

Great app for navigating to and on rivers. I like that I can add beta too. I'm excited for more content to be added!

I love the app, it gives me all the important information I need to understand the obstacles on a route I'm planning to paddle.

Fairly helpful. I wish there was more info on some rivers. There are some commonly run rivers without info. this is fine for experienced paddlers but not great for people starting out and trying to safely gain experience.

i dont like it when apps force you to create an account BEFORE you can even look through the app. and if i dont like the app then they have all my information for sometging i will never use again.

Lots of potential with this app. I was previously using an app to find USGS gauges, but this app offers maps with landmarks and in some cases what appears to be local knowledge. The developers have been upgrading this app and it's already less buggy than it was when I first started using it. I expect this app will continue to be more useful as it develops.

I use this app to find kayak launch points near ideal fishing spots on the intracoastal and indian river lagoon. I love that I can create my own path from the launch to where I want to go and it measures the distance I will be traveling. Very easy to use and the free version offers just what I need the app for.

Love this app! We typically are on a river, so it's so great to be able to determine where to embark, disembark, and how long the paddle will be with just a few clicks. Or for my more impatient paddle friends, how far along we are on our paddle. I wish I didn't have to pay to save my routes, but c'est la vie!

Extremely lacking. The one good feature is it will let you measure water miles provided you're not navigating one of the Great Lakes. Water access point information is badly incomplete and doesn't distinguish between boat ramps and docks. It's also so lacking in campsite and campground information that it's essentially useless for that purpose. Natural Atlas is better in essentially every way except being able to calculate water miles (and I wager they could add that with some badgering).

Seems like a great all around app.. Have used to find some local places to put in that I don't know about! I just wish there were a few more free features. I don't get to get on the water enough to justify a subscription. Even tho it's not really a lot. Might try premium one day if I find more paddle time.

I'm really excited for what's coming in this app. my other app for paddling won't pull up comments about launches anymore. I believe in NRS products so to learn that this is powered by that as the parent company I was pretty stoked. I like that you can map out your route, from one launch to another for example, and it doesn't seem to eat as much battery as another waterway GPS I use. anyways, looking forward to helping this app grow with consistent use.

Great potential but buggy as all get out. Literally unusable. I try to load data from a local dam and they can't load the data for water conditions other than water temperature. I have to launch another app which can give me depth and flow. If I check another spot down the river suddenly I can't zoom in/out or select the next checkpoint on the river as it just does nothing. Relaunching the app will fix it but only for the first minute of use. Great potential if it actually worked for once!

I was really excited about this app, but when I go to search for a very popular river, it's not an option in the search bar. Also, I am trying to look at the rapids, and not one rapid is named. Yes, my button is on to show the rapids. This app is advertised as having all these features. However, it is not complete, and I feel I got ripped off paying for what I could find on Google maps or other map versions.

Edit 7-29 still can't open Edit 7-23-2025 did update, still can't open Well, it was good. used it once on The Big Piney River. Really enjoyed that I could see everything on 1 app and not 3. I haven't been able to open the app in a week. I click on it, and my screen goes black and then shuts back to my phone home screen. I will change my rating if it'll work.

It's a nice app for tracking your current location. It's hands down the best maps I've found. When you search locations trying to plan trips it doesn't always move the map to that location and trying to pinch and zoom to find them is a bit tedious. The free version says you can create routes but any time I try to save one it prompts me to pay for the service and will not let me save a route without payment. I'd just like to try it first without handing over financial information.
