I think it's a little hard to navigate but I did like meeting my pad mates before I arrived and I do like the security all and all its a good way to feel comfortable
Reviews for PadSplit: Rooms for rent
← Back to PadSplit: Rooms for rentneeds a way to message padmates within home directly instead of just a house chat. Edit in response to developer. yeah i mean new roommate freaked out on me for "calling her out" in the house chat. and somehow im the one being asked to leave the home ive been at for over a year. my only fault is following the rules and trying to bring things up when I feel concerned enough to address them.
so far I like it. it seems organized and set up good for people looking for a place to live.
I am very happy with padsplit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a home. it's been such a blessing to me!
I just subscribed and I'm reading the rules to these places and you are not even allowed to bring guests into your home and no overnight guests. these rooms cost as much as regular apartments paid weekly, just to tell me that I can't bring my girl friend over. this is insanity. and if you're a night owl, you can't use the common areas or come and go as you like, how is this constitutional? this is worse than Airbnb. 8 rooms for 800 a month, the greed is real
App keeps closing every time I try to open it !
Affordable, convenient and secure for anyone planning to save to afford their own home in the future.
Good if you can live with other people and save money and be comfortable with in your budget
I like PadSplit. it's a way to save money, and without all the hassle. Rooms without closets don't offer much space to put clothing and toiletries and you can't bring in an extra piece of furniture. other than that, it's awesome.
Padsplit is great, wish I had learned about it sooner, would have saved me a lot of money, I love padsplit 💕
Great way to find quality rooms for low prices and make some friends along the way
The pictures are not actual pictures they come from Better Home and Gardens. The dinning table is a card table. The room is just OK. picture was a blue headboard well no headboard. Bed looks like a sofa sleeper. The house was not cleaned but Padsplit cannot control how people live. I addressed this in my last message. Since than I have cleaned the washer and dryer and the fridge. Next is moping all the floors. The pantry needs a good cleaning it's sticky inside I will get to that later.
I was ripped. I signed up for a bi weekly payment. as soon as it was agreed, I was already paying the bi weekly amount, then I needed to pay another 2 weeks. cause I was late, I was threatened to get kicked out of my spot
Could be great. However, if your host doesn't actually do anything when your mates don't follow house rules, there's nothing you can do but move to another one. So far, myself and the people I've met aren't super thrilled. We basically have to pay to stay in a home to clean up after strangers daily. The host repeats the same line but never does anything. The same if someone steals food or belongings and you prove who it is. Which is grounds to be terminated. Make rating hosts an option!
I will submit a more comprehensive review later, but, after one full year, I can say that Padsplit has been a lifesaver!! My rental rate has not changed; maintenance requests are addressed immediately; and I can actually budget my income each month! Thanks, Padsplit!!
Padsplit is affordable (helps financially), flexible (as how long able to stay/although charges more for flexible stays), and the staff that I've talked to have been helpful and kind. However, some of the places say no overnight guests and some don't allow guests at all(which could be an improvement if guess were able to come over anytime).
After I made a booking I got an email saying 'parking may not be immediatley available'. Its like over selling flights. Buyer beware. Not the type of messaging you want after making a financial commitment. It also made me feel unsafe to see some profiles that do not have a clear face picture. Due things like identity theft etc. The police and site members should be able to see those pictures. Company needs to fix that.
PaSplit is great, but, at least while searching for a pad, you're better off using the website as it gives more information on each house. The listings in the app seem to be missing important stuff like number of rooms and bathrooms, as well as profiles of current padmates (all of which are included in the website listings). Fix this oversight and I'll adjust my rating accordingly.
Great app, but it doesn't allow me to click or open links that are sent through the chat which is extremely inconvenient and disappointing. If we're unavailable to use a chat like normal, it's going to force people to take conversations outside the chat or hinder communication from happening in the first place. Communication is important especially since you're rooming with strangers. Besides the chat function issues, everything else works well. Please fix this immediately!
I feel like PadSplit isn't mature enough to use yet. You can't search by date, availability of rentals is EXTREMELY limited, and there are too many hoops to jump through just to get approved, which is tedious. What's worse is that they spam the hell out of you, very aggressively, when you join. So now I'm getting contacted by them (daily) via email, text and phone, when they don't even offer more than 2 places to stay in my very touristy city. Overall, this is just a horrible user experience.
