This app is awful! It is so slow and it causes it to take so long to place an order. It is like the thing is run by dial-up. I would expect better from such a large chain. It should not take me almost 20-30 minutes just to place an order from a place that I am still going to have to pick up from and take it home to bake it myself. I was able to go to the location, order, have them make it, and get it home faster than it was to try and order on the app. Ridiculous! Update your technology!
Reviews for Papa Murphy’s Pizza
← Back to Papa Murphy’s PizzaThe two main issues with the app... the store basically requires you to use the app to get any of the deals they offer. If you walk in, they refuse to honor any deals and make you pay more for the exact same product. That's just awful customer service end of. Then on the app they refuse to give you an option to pay in cash when you pick up the order. They require a card of some sort. Just a horrible app for a horrible company.
The app is insanely slow, glitches and freezes all the time. It is not my service because I have full bars. I just spent over 20 minutes trying to order 2 pizzas, with no customizations. It frequently either adds 3 of the item, or kicks you out so you have to start all over again. I love their pizza, but the app is horrid. I only use it when the store won't honor a deal because its online or in the app only.
This is, by far, the worst restaurant app I have used. There is a 10-15 second delay after each "click". After painfully making my order, that should have taken 3-4 minutes, but it actually took almost 20 minutes, I received an error message saying my order could not be completed, please call the store to place your order.
So Slow and Laggy! This app is the worst! When you tap a button it doesn't seem to do anything, but then 30 seconds to a minute later, it goes through. If like me, you think "it didn't register my tap, I should do it again." Big mistake! Now it's going to open, then reopen whatever you tapped on, only after it's waited for quite a while. I seriously am getting flashbacks to dial-up internet days when everything ran that slow... however, I'm on 5g with a flagship Samsung phone. Bad app!
App is functional at the bare minimum. Because of the way that the menu is locked behind a store locator, there is no way to look at the menu without being within the hours where they accept orders. You cannot schedule orders for the next day despite having the option to schedule out to the year 2100. Unable to use the app with developer options enabled, says it's for security concerns, makes me more worried about the app than anything else.
Good pizza, terrible app. This app has always been slow or laggy. Since they made "security changes" it has been unusable. It won't allow you to use the app if you have USB debugging enabled, or even if you have developer options unlocked. You don't have to have any options enabled, just being available is enough to lock the app. Even when unlocked it is slow and unreliable, and that's on a flagship phone.
The pizza is great, and the store service is always very good. This app, however, is currently unusable. Since installation it has been incredibly slow, sometimes taking an hour or more just to input an order. Now it will not longer allow me to even log in. No errors, just a slow spinning wait image, then a dump back to prompt. Absolutely useless.
1 star garbage! I use VPNs on my router and you can't detect them so hah! Can't use the app. First I had to turn off usb debugging. Then I had to turn off developer options. Then I was required to delete my VPN apps. I have like 10 different ones. This app was a huge waste of time. I've never been asked to delete other apps to satisfy another let alone a food app. if maybe the payment system can be compromised from other apps then maybe your app is the one with problems.
Trying to order a pizza. Pretty basic stuff. However, this app refuses to do what pizza ordering apps do. clicked start order, selected in store pickup, found my nearest store and when prompted for a time, selected asap. The app pops up a dialog box that tells me hours only go back a week. I don't care about last week. The app will not continue. The dominos app doesn't have a problem doing what it is supposed to do, so I'm going to use it until I can use yours.
app isn't working. no matter what I choose, "ASAP" or "schedule a time" I get a weird error stating *Hours can only be retrieved up to one week back* it isn't my phone. I rebooted etc. The message sounds like it 'thinks' I am trying to retrieve my history which makes no sense when I am ordering, selected the store address and then chose ASAP. Fix it please.
I LOVE Papa Murphy's... but the app is awful. When there are specials that require ordering on the app, good luck planning an order without glitches. the most common glitch I face is that it shows the pizza totals... then the subtotal adds some unknown fee that's not explained. Then sometimes the total adds yet another fee. Great pizza, but I almost always have to have an exception made at the store.
This app is terrible. Love your pizza, but not spending 30 minutes just to place an order for 2 items. It is so slow and laggy. You make a selection and then it takes several minutes to move on. God forbid you have to go back- stuck in a constant loop. It also says I have rewards to redeem, but when you click on that it says 3 more visits to go.
Papa Murphy's is awesome. Huge pizzas, great value, and you can use food stamps. Every low income family I know utilizes PM regularly. They're great! This app, on the other hand, is hot garbage. It looks like it was designed for Windows 95 and is extremely glitchy. If it's coming up with weird errors or it says the store is closed during your selected pick-up time (when it's definitely open), just close out completely, force stop, and clear app cache. I have to do this before every single order.
The app is extremely slow. It took me almost an hour to place an order for only two pizzas and kept having a message pop up saying "The app is not responding." I like the pizza tho. Edit: By the time I finally completed my order, it had actually been about 2 hours, and my phone battery went from 48% to 21%. That's just insane. Fix this.
I've never had a problem with the food, it turns out great every time. However, the app itself is terribly unoptimized. It takes forever to load, around 10 seconds to register any tap of my fingers, and when it does finally register if you happened to tap the same thing more than once during that time it will perform the same action however many times you tapped. If the pizza wasn't so dang good I would literally never use this app, it's very user unfriendly.
Please, PLEASE fix this app to be responsive and reactive! Click a button and wait... and wait... and wait... (and wait...) I have a top-end Samsung phone on 1Gb WiFi, so it's definitely not my hardwareor Internet connection. It's literally faster to drive to the store and order than to do so though this app.
Not allowed to use the app if you have usb debugging active on your phone. Guess I will just delete this app. Edit. Tried again a few weeks later and forgot I had already posted this. I turned off developer mode and usb debugging. Used the app to place an order which took 25 minutes to place 3 pizzas into the cart and get to checkout. App is super slow to react to button pressing. Card failed on expired and cant get back to edit info, forced close app. App failed, order from web browser.
Update (April 2025): App has gotten so slow it can't even take credit card information sometimes on a high-end, flagship phone. I think it's officially the slowest (and perhaps most unusable) app I've ever seen. Amazing. I suspect they're trying to send everything to the server, but can't handle traffic under load. Stick to the website.
1 star, I hope you read this, I dont put 1 star because those get removed or buried, again 1 star but labled as 3. Well. I do things on my phone that require dev mode active at times, and this app doesn't allow that. So, uninstalling and using the phone number. I just wanted an easier option, but I don't mind keeping an employee busy while taking my orders while I'm sure they have tons of walk ins and mobile orders they could be taking care of. 1 star review. not actually 3. have a good one
