£7.49 a month with a 7 day free trail. Just enough time for a child to download it and enjoy it before the parents either being stuck with an insanely high monthly cost, or upset their child by having them presumably lose access. Predatory pricing strategy. I understand it supports development costs and updates etc and would have happily paid a sensible one off cost (assuming the game is well developed unlike other paw patrol games). But sorry, a subscription model for a kids mobile game.. no
Reviews for PAW Patrol Academy
← Back to PAW Patrol AcademyI open the app and get a black screen with paw patrol music playing and that is it. you want me to pay a subscription but my kid can't even play because of this. I restarted both the app and device and still get a black screen when the app is opened.
I want to cancel the app, and stop all payments. But is does NOT let me! I need to click "pause" instead of cancel. I do not know why the CANCEL button is not available. Been trying since July and if I forget to cancel or pause, the expenses will be taken from my card which is registered. WHERE do I need to approach or send email to CANCEL the app and choose when I am possible to afford again.
Terrible asking for a monthly subscription. Lots if negative reviews I agree with the money over substance, will be deleting shortly. I understand ad free but the price is just ridiculous for a game for under 5's, also seen about people saying cant get through family management account - this is just ridiculous and then no trying to sort just blaming Google. Why release if cant be used properly. Would consider trying again but not paying while its advertised as a free app. Bad all round.
canceled the subscription right after I downloaded. it isn't showing in my Google subscriptions but I was charged this morning. when I got into the app it says to go into Google to cancel but it isn't even listed as one of my subscriptions. I want my money back!
Unable to use, subscriptions are not possible on a child's account and supervised device. This is a massive flaw in the Google family ecosystem and the developer should allow one-time purchases to access. Without this it is promoting parents to remove the safety of a child account. In response to dev reply: I absolutely agree, I don't have a problem with the price, I would happily pay for a one off year, but under a child's Google account subscriptions are not possible
I couldn't even get past the opening screen on a strong wifi connection. It kept saying it was loading videos and I waited and waited but nothing ever happened. I even went out of the app closed it out and went back in it hoping that it was just a glitch but the same thing happened. My kids got tired of waiting for it to come up. Not good for the target audiences who has very short attention span.
bait and switch. no free plan. 2 large file downloads before you find out. I deleted it. I get that yall have to make money but poor families are continually being priced out of technology and every time i turn around there is something else behind a paywall. used to be you could buy something and that was that but so much is subscription based and I puy my foot down. if I have to pay monthly, ill decline it.
My son does love this game. However, after paying the annual subscription, they have now added an extra additional game section for another monthly subscription. He is 4 and has autism and can't understand why he can't have this additional section, which causes a great amount of frustration for him and is basically making the subscription I have already paid out for obsolete. I am disappointed with the service provider and feel like they are taking advantage of a children's game.
There is a free 7 day trial and the content that is available isn't terrible. I want to acknowledge the effort by the developers, but as every company is striving to lock us into subscriptions I don't think there is any reason even with updates/DLC to do this. It should only require a one off purchase and not a subscription model. Future updates can be sold as DLCs accordingly (not that I think this is acceptable on any platform either). Very disappointed kids, we are not prepared to pay debits.
Good app but expensive. We've just done a weeks free trial and my Son loves it. But I can't believe it's a tenner a month for access to all the apps. If it was a one off fee I'd have happily paid it. But a tenner a month is daylight robbery.
Something went wrong. that's all I see. Can barely feel the tap. My grandchild can't do anything but color and tap sheep which barely works as well. Won't go to any other level besides those two. Hit join now..says "something went wrong". Punch in the year thinking it's going to let us buy something or whatever! "Something went wrong". No good so I deleted and Uninstalled and came back here to give the review.
My nephew loves Paw Patrol. Watching him play this app is great. I would like to see more interactive parts within each game as well as the ability to track his progress through each module. Such as time spent on the app overall and then time to complete tasks. For instance, how much time to complete a math question or spell a word. How many times did he get the task correct. Overall, it's one of the best kid apps. I love the lesson on behavior. The Rider character is amazing.
seems like it would be a great app for kids. but I really wouldn't know seeing as how it forces you to get a subscription for $11/month to even start the game. I get there's licenses and developers and costs that go into making a game. but the money grab from this is ridiclous
Entire game locked behind a pay wall. Can't even try it without giving up your credit card info. Should have looked at the recent reviews before downloading. Waste of time. You wanna charge money for your game, that's fine, but don't authorize ads that claim it's free.
Definitely not free (12 per month) and asks a lot of questions. its a good 15 minutes to get working. there's just better content out there. I would not recommend.
This isn't a free game (although it very much looks like one). To play the game you need to pay a monthly subscription. On first opening the app you are offered a 7 day free trial. If you decline you get a nice animation of a gift opening, and are given a 24 hour free trial instead. This feels like a deliberate trick to have you download the app, let children play the free trial, and then get stuck paying a monthly subscription.
The game is decent regarding how it runs. Graphics, lag, resolution, all of that is good. And for a game meant for kids' attention, I'd say it would do a good job. But the reason I'm giving it 2 stars is how most of the game is locked behind a paid subscription! You only get to play with Chase and Zuma, and even then, most of their content is locked unless you pay. (Edit): Decided to re-download the game, and now you can't play any of it without being forced to sign up for a subscription.
Takes extremely long to download, then continues to add files and won't load!
NOT FREE! Cannot access anything without a subscription. This is a kids GAME that we've had for a while with some free content and need a subscription for the rest. Now, I have a heartbroken toddler because she can't play the games she's been playing. Insane. I WILL NOT PAY A SUBSCRIPTION TO PLAY A GAME!
