Reviews for PAX Nav

Whenever I add an event to my schedule, it scrolls to the top of the (massive) list of events 🥲

Flawless execution. I never felt lost for a second. Just needs a friend finder.

Can't zoom in enough on the maps. Not accessible.

confusing as hell

Amazing app for the map, but admittedly, I never opened it once while actually there, lol

This was really useful to have the info stored locally on my phone rather than be searching for reception in the convention center. Also, it was real fun to scan all the QR codes around the show!

Wow. Please tell me there is an alternate font color. Whoever decided purple on black was a great color choice was not thinking.

I hate dark theme. Please enable a setting to change to light theme. Preferred the old PAX app.

I didn't know how to scan badges with the app, then I found out from a poster board that there was supposed to be a QR code scanner in the app, please update the app with the scanner

Very basic, maps are just pictures. Doesn't really justify its existence beyond scheduling panels.

Made it easy to figure out where to be and when at PAX West. Easy to use, fast-loading, perfect.

Functional I guess. The old Pax apps (and even guidebook) were better tbh. Search in schedule doesn't work, you can only set schedule reminders globally and not individually, and it doesn't update to show the new schedule changes...

Version 4.2.0 hangs on the loading screen. In fact, the latest version of all the ReedPop apps have the same problem. I would guess there is a bug in a common library. Reverting to version 4.1.0 solves the problem.

pop up ads everytime I focus the app great experience

This app is very frustrating to use for any registration, it is clearly overwhelmed at 8am when registration opens, rendering it useless. I will say, the expo map is helpful. I wish I could search by name of booth, and if at all possible, by genre of products sold. ie. indie, dice, zines, retail board games, woodworking, advent, etc.

Similar to other recent reviews, the app purely gets stuck on the loading screen for me and no amount of re-installs fixes this issue.

In 2023, my initial rating was 1-star because the app was completely unusable if you didn't have your location turned on. I was happy to see that this was changed for the 2024 version and up-ed my rating to 3 stars. However, I'm very sad to see the 2025 version has reverted back to requiring location data to function. So back down to 1-star and I will be uninstalling the app. I don't want push notifications, so I don't know why I can't use the rest of the app without turning on my location.

The color scheme needs to be fixed. Specifically, on the Schedule page there isn't enough contrast and/or brightness for the check mark box to add an event to My Schedule. Took me a while to even notice it was there. I imagine color coding event types or locations would also be beneficial instead of just having shades of violet/pink.

Poor first time setup experience. The app keeps opening web pages for linking and registration, but when you swap apps to scan the badge QR code or get your link code, it forgets where you were. I can't link the account I registered because it sends me a new link code each time I go back in the app. It feels like they misclassified certain cookies required for auth as non-essential, and now I can't get back to change my cookie selections to fix this.

This app is useless! You're forced to register for an event at 8:00 in the morning of that day, but registration only gives time out errors. When finally no timeout error, the event is full. Amazingly horrible programming. Programmers must be thinkers. Of course there will be an onslaught of registrations at 8 an. Create a thread for each event registration request! No reason for time outs. I don't want to go to pax at all, now. A tone of demoralizing, impending disappointment has been set.
