I live the functions on this app. However, I'm giving it a 3 star versus a 5 star simply because your app does NOT have an automatic save feature. I worked on a picture all night last night until 7:54 AM and the app crashed & I completely lost EVERYTHING I did on a picture. It's gone. Never to be retrieved. To an artist...that's DEVASTATING! Because not every picture comes out the same. All the hard work put into it and it's just gone! Not the worth the time unless you constantly save it.
Reviews for PENUP – Drawing-sharing SNS
← Back to PENUP – Drawing-sharing SNSI agree with the newer posts. this app was very user friendly, and was perfect the way it was. then the update happened, which was a completely new overhaul of all the settings and pens. it's not impossible to use, but since you need to adjust every single pen to even get it to how you used it before, there will still and always be issues. this app was perfect the way it is, an update like this is not necessary. maybe the app needs a version select, for those who prefer an older version.
I like this app, I love drawing do I use it a lot. There are some things that could change, but the thing that makes me most upset is that it sends me out project, while I'm drawing. It saves the drawing if I press save, but still, I was working on a drawing for hours today and it sent me out, I hadn't saved in a bit the part I was working completely erased.
I loved this app until this latest update. It worked good for the drawings I was doing and the brush options were perfect. Now the brush tips are too large even on the smallest setting, customizing the brushes is way too overly complicated, and they even got rid of some of my favorite brushes. Now I can't even use the app for the drawings I used to do. I'll be on the hunt for a replacement for it. Sad, because it used to be almost perfect.
7/8 update - cannot save any of my drawings since the software update two days ago. I have to screenshot and then pull from my gallery when i want to continue. I love this app, really. Very rarely do I tune into my artistic side but lately I've been drawing a ton. But the app needs tools, like a ruler or shapes that can be copy and pasted into sketches. I spend more time drawing thick lines to erase so they're even than I get to spent drawing and it's incredibly frustrating and time consuming.
I like the paint bucket fill for coloring. I wish I could create my own sets of palettes that the app would store. Currently, you can only create one palette once, but it is only saved with the drawing you are using; AND you can only use a few colors; AND if you use another color from any place, one of the colors will disappear!!! It would be super nice to have numeric values of the RGB so that you can color match to the same "canvas" or other drawings. I only like the Coloring part.
This is awesome creating art is amazing in this app. There's an array of different types of pens and the color palette is one that's got it all. It's user friendly easy to navigate and very enjoyable to there a really nice wall of art by other users they are very good artist too. If you can't draw, no worries there an entire section for coloring pages. The choices are endless. I love this app, I recommend it for all.
I regularly use PENUP and have found it to be an exceptional art app for general art needs. I'm regrettably disappointed in the most recent update. The user interface isn't as easy to use, and the brushes are no longer as versatile (although I do appreciate the greater variety of options). In particular, the blending tool has worsened, and the lining brushes don't offer nearly small enough sizes. I hope to see some of the prior brushes and the prior blending tool restored.
I've been using this app for years, on and off. I love following artists and experimenting with how to do this digital art stuff. The amazing work I see from everyone else is encouraging. I have always found it easier to draw or sketch on paper, but this app has made digital drawing more comfortable than I ever thought it would be. I haven't come across glitches or anything. This is a very well-made app. Phenomenal job development team. If you like drawing on tablets or phones, you want this app
I used to use the s pen extensively for typing. But since your last update, you have ruined the use of the pen! Now you have to go through that stupid icon in order to bring up the keyboard. Furthermore, the icon is in the way of the screen and the keyboard use is now cumbersome. Whatever happened to if it isn't broke, don't fix it? I paid extra money for a phone that had a pen inserted into it, and now it's useless thanks to you.
I wish I had an English degree to be able to truly express my feelings about this app. I had bell's palsy due to stress (essentially a "stress stroke") this affected my mobility and limited my ability to draw which used to be a source of income. I recently picked up a pencil and feel like my skills went back to high-school. Needless to say since I am learning ALL over again why not go digital and Penup offers every aspect to do this for FREE. That's the best I could do to express in words.
Penup is a great app! I share my artwork all the time and so does my friend. Everyone there is so friendly and there is no toxicity, inappropriate behavior or things, it's a really great app. You can upload photos of your artwork from your gallery, draw online, draw on a photo from ur gallery, and there are sooo many coloring pages to color. And this app is completely free. There are no ads, nothing you have to buy, theres no "Buy premium to get upgraded features" it's all free.TOTALLY RECOMMEND
The app forces you to use a vertical portrait format for images. Immediate uninstall. I have no idea who thought that was a good idea for an image editing app, but I would like to assure them in no uncertain circumstances that it was, in fact, quite the opposite. Professional photographer and graphic designer. I would not touch this again with a 10-foot pole. Oh, and they respond to comments with meaningless, vapid form letters.
As an avid user of PENUP for 2 years, I feel very let down by the most recent update. The old brushes were much nicer to use, none of the new tools come close. The sizes are no longer versatile and can not go smaller for fine details. I would also like to request a way for drafts to be saved to each user. Mine have all been deleted after this newest update, and I am very disheartened by this. [EDIT] The automated response has depleted my hope for the app.
Can't customize the interface aside from moving the brushes to the right or left side. The eraser button is up at the top for some reason and it's a pain to move halfway across the screen every time I want to erase, then move halfway across again to switch back to a brush. You can't move any of the tools to be in a different spot or combine them into a single menu, which is insane to me. In fact, the options are really barebones. There's like 10 options in total, and zero for customization.
22GB!!!! I was really enjoying the app lately. I used it in the past but picked it up again recently and have been coloring a good bit. Then it began to freeze on me. Then it crashed with a notice saying, "Not enough storage." I then realized this app was taking up 22gb. I cleared the cache and data, and it went back to low mb numbers. I only had maybe 10 pages colored, I guess that was too much. If I keep using it, I guess I'll just save my pages and clear the data after a few.
I love this app! It was automatically on my tablet and now I use it so much. It is so useful for beginners that are trying to learn how to draw digitally. It has coloring pages, challenges, and more! Although it us a great app, it does have it faults. One of the ones that I found annoying is that if you have slow internet, it will sometimes exit the app. If you happen to be drawing while this happens, everything that you drew since your last save will be gone. To prevent this, save more often.
App spends an inordinate amount of screen space and interface promoting other people's artwork and profiles. Latest drawings, hot artists, staff picks, popular today... where is the actual drawing and lessons this thing claims to have? It's more like a gallery and marketplace for already completed artwork from people who know what they're doing. Recommended to me as a good starting point for beginners, but I just don't see it.
This is a good app with so much potnetial. I personally would like to raise the score more if the options weren't too simple. I think it would be perfect if you could add layers, zoom in/out where ever, and a select tool so it's easy to fix a sketch. Not to mention, when I start to draw, there are code bars that form where I draw. Is that an astetic/there a way to turn it off? This app is functional and easy to use so I will keep it. Please update so I can love it more! Got something good here!
it's nice 👍 I'm very happy that this one thing where the ink in the pen would be untextured black pen no matter what pen type and colors you'd use didn't happen. It might've been that one factory reset I did. My phone was funky before the factory resetting I put on it, but now it's okay. I think it was the factory reset. Not the app related. If you fix or already fixed it, ty! Great app. A lot of good artists out there. I even have my own art. Recommended.
