Reviews for Perfect Viewer

Perfect app. I think the smoothing type of the image inside the magnifier window should also be configurable, like the main image (bilinear, nearest neighbor, average, lanczos, etc.) When I used it, it seemed to only display in bilinear even though I already set the main image to nearest neighbor. Thank you for making this very useful application.

Somewhere along the way, this just stopped working on me. The OTG extension app (Source Plugin) didn't work anymore with the USB OTG never loading the folder, but I just stopped using that. Then with my latest phone, it just takes forever for it to load any folder. Somewhere along the way, the default google gallery app surpassed this in functionality and usability. While the utility is still lacking, the Google Gallery app works, while the PV App here just isn't usable

I really liked this app for a long time, but the latest update seems to have trashed the underlying database. Books are still marked as Read / In Progress / Unread, but the Filter function returns a blank shelf when I try to sort on any of these. It also shows every book as New when I use that filter, regardless of how long it's been on there. Is there any way to restore or repair the app so that it correctly displays books based on their read status?

Would be perfect if I could set each file upon the bookshelf between long page (Korean) view; and single/double (Japan) page views. Love the set up :-) for the bookshelf. Although your missing the long page view code. Add a retracting bar with an adjustable menu options upon the page screen. Make these adjustments and I would gladly pay a small amount for the license to this app.

I had downloaded this app onto my phone years ago and have watched it grow into a great comic app. There has never seemed to be any glitches on my phones and it works very smoothly. I found that the preferances management has always been its biggest issue. Way to indepth if you are looking for a simple set up. The new look for the bookshelf where the folders show groups of books instead of the old cover within a folder looks good too.

the app is good but the page gets cut when scrolling while the page is zoomed. The zoom should affect all pages and not just the current one

Lanczos scaling makes this the most preferable comic viewer option for image quality. The graphical interface can still be improved a lot, as it does not really stand up to other apps of the same category. That said, the reader itself (which I am focused on) works perfectly fine and delivers what I expect it to (decent image scaling).

Although it does work, I find it to be far from ideal for comic books. When you try to zoom into boxes, as you would while reading a comic, you have to be really careful with your dragging. One slight move and boom you have zoomed out and got to another page. Then you try to go back to the page and zoom, boom, the app crashed! So yeah it works but barely...

Edited- Now a 5 star review because there is an option to keep the backlight on, I just missed it. I'll start by saying I havent found a comic yet that this app cant display. It's lightweight in terms of both size and battery drain. My only issue (and this is my fault entirely) is that it doesn't seem to have the ability to keep the screen awake and when I tap to stop the screen timing out I inevitably turn the page. So this one extra permission would make this app a total dream for me.

Was my go to app for my tablet, but the recent update wrecked it, and it couldn't even perform a basic exit out of a current comic and a look at a list of other comics without crashing and asking for an error report to be submitted. Every. Time. Moral of the story... Do not install 'updates'. Uninstalled. Time to look for another reader.

As soon as this app adds the ability to shuffle pages and comics, I will change this review's score to 5*. It's really the only thing that separates this comic viewer from perfection and yes, the ability to shuffle is worth a whole star.

I've been using this for over a decade on Android and Amazon tablets and it's the best one out there. the reader portion is near flawless. the bookshelf portion could use a refresh as it hasn't changed much since inception. I feel it could use the space a bit better but mostly the titles and fonts need an overhaul as it's not adjustable and cuts off longer titles with a "...", even worse if the file name is a long string as many are (humble bundle especially). still great app thanks so much!

Its a good app but there is bug that annoys me soo much. Whenever I open the app, front page is a subfolder under my bookshelf folder even if I am not reading that in that subfoldet. There seems to be no option to set the opening page to the root bookshelf. so I have manually go back to the root folder and navigate to the comic I want to read. Its a minor issue but over the time gets excessively annoying. Other than that this is a good app

the best app I've used for manga reading. I've tried mihon, tachiyomi, mangareader, and another. However, they have issues such as slow checking (I have around 50 GB of downloaded manga), an inconvenient interface, a lack of folder and file management options, and limited customization options. Additionally, I've noticed a minor drawback. Sometimes, when flipping through the manga, the image doesn't load properly. I have to scroll down and then return to the previous page.

This app on Android it's perfect for reading comics. The ease of use, the ability to select where my comic files are stored, the clean layout and design, the ability to customize it to my taste, and for not bombarding the user with a ton of intrusive ads make this app worth five stars. If I could give more I would. Do you have a version o of this for the iPad? I tried a handful on it and none of them let me select files stored on my device, only the cloud.

Perfect Viewer is a good comic viewer its been around for years for a good reason. The only really disappointing thing about it is that it doesn't use a newer version of SMB thus I have to either use a 3rd party file explorer app to get to my library or enable legacy SMB on my server which would open it to security flaws. This is the main reason I don't use it anymore. I'd gladly update my rating to 5 stars and resume using it as my go to comic reader if they were to add an updated version of SMB.

Very good app for several reasons, but falls short on navigating pages. If I zoom in and try to move the image around, the image will slide after every lift of the finger and I can't move the image around until it stops sliding. Also if while zoomed I reach the edge of the image, there is no stop between the image and the next/previous image, and so it will forcibly turn the page or go to the next/previous image with no way to stay on the image I was on. This is with a set minimum drag distance.

I have to agree with the last few reviewers. This app used to be nearly flawless, but the last few updates have nearly ruined it. The bookshelf takes forever to load. It has to reload the bookshelf every single time you go in or out of a folder. Even after a Full Scan it doesn't show the accurate number of files for a give comic.

Comicat no longer works on my tablet since upgrading to Android version 11 and they took away the privileges Comicat had to read from my SD card. I am still pissed at them for that... "hey, let's take away some of the usability our customers have grown accustom to...", at any rate... Perfect Viewer looks a lot like Comicat in many ways. If you are looking for a replacement for Comicat, this is the one to get. In a week or so, if I have no issues with it I will be paying for the Pro version.

Definitley worth getting used to all the options and quick-links (even if you are a novice.) Get the paid version if you read manga a lot and can afford it. Small increase in features but funds this fantastic app. Don't be scared of this app if you are a novice, just be aware that it has a lot of features and an open-source esque interface with them. Try it out, it's free! (And donate when you see how awsome it is... free is the way of the future) >:there are options for simple interface.
