I'm running this app on my Nokia G300. The big issue is Bluetooth connectivity. Not sure if it's the phone/Hearlink at fault or just Bluetooth in general. The app will work fine, and then if I walk away from the phone, the connection will be lost. That is to be expected. I realize Bluetooth range is not infinite. The problem is when I get back to my phone, I always must manually turn off Bluetooth and then turn it on again for HearLink to connect.
Reviews for Philips HearLink 2
The app does not automatically connect to your hearing aids when you connect to your phone and it doesn't stay connected to your hearing aids. The sound tends to bounce back and forth between your 2 hearing aids. I don't think I would buy these hearing aids again which is what this app is connected to. Repeated requests for repair for connectivity have done nothing to change the problem.
EDIT. Here it is over a month later and, like others, still have problems staying connected to a Philips tv adapter! They give the same response to everyone. Even though you email them, they have no fix. They blame it on the hearing aids! 2/21/2024 I was having trouble connecting the hearing aids to the app. I went through the steps 4 or 5 times and all nothing. Should not be so complicated, Philips!
The app is fairly good. Gives a lot of control to allow the basics to be done, e.g., volume, location, turning on/off . Biggest issue is the closed platform. Friends with non-Philips hearing aids can pair, via Bluetooth, to other devices. Philips tech support stated their aids only connect to Philips and nothing else. 3 stars due to lack of openness to other devices, e.g., Beeitz Bluetooth transmitter. Phonak can connect. Very handy if playing in hobbies using radios and headphones.
It would be nice if the program was consistent Sometimes they connect fine, sometimes they don't. Today one aid won't connect at all. Yes, I tried new batteries. Yes, I tried several times at different hours of the day. Tomorrow we go to Costco to complain. Also, having to take your hearing aid out to open and close the battery door is certainly not discreet. The most recent upgrade didn't seem to help anything. The reviews given are accurate, and obviously not being listened to.
OK when it works. The Bluetooth receiver in the hearing aids is very weak. If I receive a call, people on the other end cannot hear or understand me if I put phone in my pocket. Have to hold the phone near my face. Program frequently crashes upon opening; sometimes I can't open at all. These two issues are not my phone, nor Bluetooth cache, nor me. I use and have used numerous Bluetooth devices without issue. Please, Philips, we don't want workarounds, we want the issues fixed.
This is a horrible app. First of all it really doesn't do anything. You can't change any of the programs. It only has 4 programs. You cannot add programs. The only thing you can change is if it's connected to some streaming device you have 3 sliders. Period but you can't change those or save them.worse. The Bluetooth has screwed up the Bluetooth in my office my car and my Home. Making Bluetooth on my Phone Almost useless. Don't download it. Very very poor app from Phillips.Taking HAids back
Horrible app! Doesn't work. Once you connect to listen to the TV you loose control in the app. You can't mute or change volume, or switch back to just hearing Aides. Have cleared the cache and restarted the phone to no avail. You pay $250.00 for the hardware and the supporting app doesn't work. You'd think they would spend the time and expense to make it work...but NO! What a ripoff!!!
Keeps track of usage for a few days then data disappears. Hearing aids don't stay connected. Volume control seems to work well. This is not a reliable app. More like an afterthought for someone at Philips. 10-30-2024 update. Had to uninstall and re install the app when hearing aids would not connect. Now, I have to force quit the app rather than use the close all function on my phone. It's also hit and miss connecting to hearing aids. This app has a 2.7 rating. Shame on Philips.
Terrible app. Trying to stream music is hit or miss. Hearing aids keep disconnecting and eventually reconnecting. Also, phone calls are unreliable. Sometimes I can't hear the other person and sometimes they can't hear me. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail. I have an Android phone. I did find out through trial and error that you can't leave the app on while streaming music. You have to close the Hearlink app, disconnect your hearing aids from Bluetooth, reconnect them
