Reviews for Philips Lumea IPL

App closes on me when logging date of treatment. I am still trying to log treatments from 21st October but when I click on the date the app just closes on me. It also says I have 136 areas to treat as that just goes up every time I open it. I'm only treating 3 areas! EDIT: Now works after reinstalling but doesn't give notifications at the time they are due. It tells me I'm overdue when I open it. Not helpful!

In the last month or so I have a bug: over 30 Underarms tratament areas which I can't remove. And also the App doesn't send notifications (already set reminders in settings and nothing). Edit: I log out and back in, and now the extra Trataments are gone. Not sure yet if I'll recive notifications, but I'm glad the bug it's gone. Thank you

Whoever made this app should be fired immediately. You're so extremely limited with what you can put on it, for example, if you want to do the upper backs of your legs, you can't, because the app forces you to do ONLY lower legs. Also, it only allows you to put lenghts in inches, with no option for centimetres. For Philips to have such a sad app, it's really disasterous. Puts shame on your name, Philips.

It's great to get started with the Lumea, but doesn't really personalise your treatment. For example, you can't adjust the maintenance schedule - it's set to 6 weeks but i found this too long and hair started to grow back. The swiping up to end a session is a bit gimmicky and means it takes too long to record usage. I've switched to a different app for reminders now.

Seemed like a good app a great way to track when your next session was due. Recently I've woken up in the morning and found my battery had drained completely overnight from over 70%. I didn't realise what the issue was until investigating further and realised in my Samsung settings that this app had around 124 issues detected, these issues can cause apps to drain batteries (device maintenance) and I've only had the app for two weeks at most. So now I've uninstalled it and will see if it makes a difference, last night it seemed to have however I still want to continue using the app or I'll have to manually write down what days I've done my session. Hope Philips can somehow fix this. I won't install for some time.

Push notifications very unreliable - sometimes worked, sometimes not at all. Whole app was useful for tracking previous treatments. Now it logged me out, and although I logged back with the same credentials it's all empty, I'm sure I've checked to back up data previously. I'm asked by app - how many times have you done the treatment before? No idea after 2 years, I haven't doubled entered data. I start using google calendar for this, and uninstalling Lumea app.

No notifications, not being able to correct the wrongly chosen date, not being able to transfer the same account to a new phone. Totally out of track because of not syncing data. This app is way below any expectations. I will stop using it as I'm better off without than trying to follow something that doesn't work. I hope there will be an update soon!

The app itself is fine, looks nice etc. However, the reminder function does not work. I've had the app installed on two different phones now and it did not work on either of them. This is the main reason I installed the app, big letdown. It would also be nice to be able to track the actual progress you see on yourself - i.e. a way to say 'on this body part it has not worked very well' so it automatically puts you back on a two week schedule rather than the 4-6weeks.

Good but needs improvement. There is no editing, for example if you click skip treatment you can't undo , and that for several similar aspects. I think it would be great if you could upload your own specific area and not use only the determined by the app. Also a log in would be great because I changed my phone and lost all the information.

The app is terrible - nothing can be changed - cannot change my name, the phase I want to continue with (once you put your next treatment it's impossible to change to a different phase), so be careful and do to make any mistake because you cannot change it later. So the app which shows me the wrong treatment dates is useless, it's even more confusing for me now. The notification shows up randomly - sometimes it pops up, sometimes not. At least there are some useful articles. I am disappointed.

Worked fine up until now. All of a sudden its telling me I've got treatments scheduled for treatments that are marked as complete. I can't even log treatments that the notification is telling me I have to do. Also its stupid how I can't edit past treatments (I accidentally didn't opt for a touch-up session and couldn't go back and change this), and that the "calender" doesn't function like a calender. I'm beginning to think that the people who designed this app are not users of it.

Even though the update was made in December, and the app worked just fine last week, in the last 3 days everything disappeared. I don't have any treatment zones displayed, only the explore option, all my treatment dates erased, my product is registered, curiously. I've signed out, and signed in, nothing changed. I've un installed the app and installed it again. Now I can't pass the select your product stage. This is disappointing... Screwed my schedule...

I can't edit past treatments. I accidentally chose to not add an extra treatment, and there is no way to change that. The schedule will just be wrong now. I also can't track my own results (like how much hair was growing back after each treatment). I want to be able to add treatments to my schedule. I've seen complaints about this since 2019 but apparently they don't think it's important to add. Basically this app is just a calendar app with lots of pink and no editing options.

There seems to be a technical problem with the app, as I can't even get it started. On the "never lose your data" page, after I've logged in, whichever option I choose, there is a connection error. I've tried it on other devices, with wifi and with mobile internet-nothing works. I'd appreciate it if you look into this as I can't use the app at all.

Hit and miss. I love the lumea and have been using it for 6 months now. However, I find the app quite restrictive as you cannot customise the areas that you treat (eg treat upper leg and lower leg separately) and I am not able to change the frequency of treatments (as some areas need more or less treatment than that suggested).

Great app, it really helps me stay on schedule and I'm getting great results with the IPL. I like the tips in manageable chunks, just when you need them, with pictures and examples. Much better than a manual. It's a really well designed part of the tool and I'm surprised how useful it is. Edit - removed a star because the notifications aren't working right for me. I seem to get loads of reminders to read the same old articles about technique but I'm missing the treatments when they are due.

This app was working perfectly fine. On the odd occasion I wouldn't get a notification of when my next treatment was due but other than that I was pleased with it until randomly it logged me out, now when I try signing in it keeps saying "something went wrong, Please try again." I've changed my password a good few times now, restarted my phone and have tried to uninstalled and then reinstall the app in hopes that it will work.. but nothing seems to work. I was due a treatment, and I also did a treatment which I needed to input in my app so it shows me when I next need to follow up on it. Can you please resolve this issue.

Despite trying everything to get the notifications right, I don't get them. I never see when I need to do my next treatment so I've had to use my own diary. I also don't see a way of starting to record a new treatment if I forget to record... So if I don't record it straight away on the day, it will record on the day I remember to input it which can be wildly inaccurate. It does allow recording if late on follow up treatments, just not the initial.

Stopped getting notifications so got behind on treatments. Got a new phone and problem still persists. Checked settings and notifications are switched on. Anyone else having this issue?

Love the app but the reminders are very confusing. Initially I set it to day before, I was notified a day after. After some time I set to the day of and now it reminds me a day before. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or what... Otherwise a great app to keep track of everything and in general for tips.
