So here's my take on Photomath. I've tested a bunch of math apps and this one's pretty solid. The core functionality works really well - just snap a pic and get step-by-step solutions. What I like most is the ability to see the reasoning behind each step, which helps you actually understand the concepts. It's not as slick as some other apps, but it gets the job done. If you struggle with math, this is worth checking out.

Pros

  • Solves tons of different math problems, from basic to advanced
  • Explains the reasoning behind each step, not just the answers
  • Free to use, no need to pay for the core features
  • Works with handwritten, textbook, and on-screen math problems
  • Accurate solutions 99% of the time in my experience

Cons

  • Can be a bit glitchy and crash occasionally
  • The explanations are helpful but not always the clearest
  • Might be overwhelming if you're really struggling with math basics
  • Throws a lot of ads at you if you don't pay for the premium version

Description

I’ve been using Photomath for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that can solve all kinds of math problems – from simple arithmetic to advanced calculus. Pretty solid if you’re a student or just someone who struggles with math sometimes.

Here’s how it works: you just take a picture of the math problem, whether it’s in a textbook, on a whiteboard, or written on paper, and the app will show you step-by-step solutions. There’s also a feature where it explains the concepts behind each step, which is super helpful. And you can even switch between different solution methods, which is neat.

Look, if you’ve got a math class or just want to get better at solving problems, you’ll probably find Photomath really useful. It’s not perfect – the app can get a bit glitchy sometimes and the explanations aren’t always the clearest. But overall, it does the job and I’d recommend giving it a try.

This app has turned into utter rubbish. In order to get help on the answer, you have to pay for a weekly/monthly trial. I understand that the developers need to...

Great app. I used it to check my homework along with Wolfram alpha. Wolfram alpha is great too but it kept giving me the wrong solution to a differentiation problem....
