I've tested a bunch of photography planning apps and PhotoPills is one of the best. The level of detail and features is really impressive - it's like having a professional assistant in your pocket. The mapping and AR tools are super useful for scouting locations and nailing your shots. The only downsides are the slightly steep learning curve and the paywall for some advanced tools. But if you're serious about stepping up your photography game, PhotoPills is definitely worth the investment.

Description

Been using PhotoPills for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you plan and shoot all kinds of cool photos – landscapes, night sky, weddings, you name it. Pretty solid if you’re into photography.

Here’s what you can do: there’s a map-based planner that shows you where the sun, moon, and Milky Way will be at any time. It’s got calculators for all sorts of photography stuff like depth of field, exposure, and golden hour times. And the augmented reality feature is really neat – you can point your camera and see exactly where the sun or moon will be.

Look, if you’re into photography and want to take your skills to the next level, you’ll probably dig this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit confusing at first and the in-app purchases add up – but overall it does a great job of unlocking new creative possibilities. Worth checking out for sure.
