Reviews for phyphox

This may be the most underrated app on the Play Store. I wish I had discovered it sooner. If it weren't for Chris Boden from the YouTube channel @Physicsduck, I would have missed out on this amazing app. The features it offers seem almost too powerful to operate with just a phone, without any additional devices. I love it.

It is hard to believe that such a valuable, versatile, and well-organized app exists, never mind for free and without ads or other bloat. If I could suggest one improvement: I was very surprised that you can't view the spectra you've taken over time as "carpet"-style spectrograms. I'd really like to see that functionality.

Cant believe this never crossed my mind before! An app that simply gives you access to all the sensor suite your phone is always running anyway, plus a lot clever mathematics and programming to add even more functionality. Perfect to play around with, and turns your phone from a dopamine machine into an extremely versatile multitool!

Exceptional for classroom use - as a teacher (age groups 11-18) it's fantastic that I can set my phone up in place in an experiment & then control and display all the information in real time on a screen through a browser. Makes data-logging equipment for demonstrations look poor in comparison & the number of sensors it accesses is awesome.

I was using phyphox to record some barometric pressure data over several days on an old phone. The first time I did it, everything seemed to work, though the export process isn't straightforward. The second time I tried it, I couldn't export the data I needed before the app let me exit the experiment without prompting me to save any of my data and then crashed. I have no idea if the data is recorded anywhere or if it's even recoverable.

Very useful, I can secretly play 20,000hz near my friends and watch them go crazy, lol

These are the kind of things that are really worth to download. Amazing app. The concept alone is commendable.

Super interesting app, and works well without weird and concerning permissions (GrapheneOS approved :)

It works well! No ads, and it can use about all of my phone's sensors.

Great portable physics lab. Especially like the feature to save data.

your most recent update made it impossible to scroll many of the function settings, up past the key board. lower settings cannot be seen or changed, because they are blocked from view.

This is a great application. One can do many things with their phone if one is inclined to do so. Just don't get overconfident and ruin your phone.

Really cool app. I use it for nonsense all the time. If I could ask for anything it would be a compass since that seems like something this should have but doesn't.

amazing for the scientifically curious. gives you lots of experiments you can run on your phone locally (doesn't need WiFi), and sparked my curiosity about science.

Good to watch the air pressure over 10 minutes up is more fair weather approaching decidedly down and steep -- storm approaching dozens of other activities too!

love the app. It would be really cool if we could lock the axes on the audio frequency spectrum, it's a little jarring to look at as it is.

Would be nice to he able to measure our bodies electro/chemical reaction times based off visual (seeing something on the screen) or mechanical (feeling vibration) auditory (hearing tone) to tap the screen. Then a graph comparing the time difference of all 3.

Honestly, a really cool piece of work! Simple to use and operate, and really opened my eyes as to the sheer amount of STUFF my phone has to offer in terms of telemetry. I think what really opened my eyes was being able to detect the minute, fraction-of-a-decimal differences in barometric-pressure between various rooms in my home, from floor to ceiling. Impressive stuff! Definitely worth having on-hand.

This app is mindblowing I don't leave ratings. maybe 3 total and the other 2 were.... not good. I deliberately opened the CIA store... I mean Play Store just to leave this review. I felt like not doing so would be disrespectful to the ones who put this together. When big tech and our governments sell us out to AI completely, I hope the Machine Masters will be kind enough to let me keep one app. it would be this one without hesitation. 10/10

screw this app. crashes while saving data. I've lost hours of data multiple times because when you try to share it or save it it just crashes. seriously screw this. happened on multiple devices of mine too. just use physics toolbox suite
