I think it's really fun! The layers are easy to manage which is great for complicated pixel art, and I like how the homepage works. One small annoyance with me is that the undo and redo buttons are at the bottom unlike every art software I've used before, so I accidentally go out of the editor. Other then that, great app!!
Reviews for Pixilart - Make Pixel Art
← Back to Pixilart - Make Pixel ArtI really like your service in general!! However, there are a few things I noticed on my android mobile app version: version: -I can't reply to comments on my posts -I can't see the images for reposts I put on my profile -the size of the drawings/animations are very limited These things are understandable given that it's meant to be in a larger web browser, but fixing these things would add a lot to the user experience I think!
I use the web version all the time, and it's truly a great website. In my opinion it's superior to other pixel art apps because of its friendly user interface. I decided to give the app a try and after drawing a tile for my game and trying to download it, an error message pops up at the bottom: "download failed" regarldes of whether the wifi is on or off...
Fun pixel art painting app, on mobile you watch an ad for a new canvas, it has a fair amount of features like tracing option, brushes, shapes, predesigned bases, and stamps. My only critiques are if I started something on the website I can't view it on my phone and vice versa, and that the brushes feature has a big to were it gets stops working and can't switch the brush on mobile.
I really really like the platform on laptops, but its really bad on mobile. When you are drawing, you barely have any of the same options as you do on pc. You cant even make the canvas bigger than 100 x 100, which sucks if you wanna make a really detailed drawing. You can look at other drawings well and easily, but actually drawing is horrible. You need to tap a 'draw' button or do a weird tap/drag motion to get multiple pixels at once. Overall, web version is way better.
This is overall a great app for pixel art, but there are some things on the mobile version that make it much harder to use than on the website for me. First if all, the undo button is sort of laggy. For instance, it autosaves more than just one thing at a time making the undo button delete more than I did. Second, when I upload pixel art that I've made on the app, it doesn't let me select it on the website to make a custom badge...I'm unsure whether it's like this for all or just me though.
Missing safety features like informing you when your account has been logged in on a different device and the option for two factor authentication. Banners are harder to set up compared to the web version, settings dont transfer when migrating from web to mobile, you cannot pin posts, and customer support is lacking. On the bright side, it is great for socializing and making pixelated art. Still, the negatives are dwarfing the positives. I'll change my review when these problems are resolved.
Great app. I'm just annoyed that you can't rotate the canvas (you might be able to, and i just dont know). Also, if you import an image, you never get to upload your drawing, which sucks because they work way better than the actual background drawing image option. 5 stars if you can rotate because it would be so much easier.
Has great potential & it's really nice to use. But, I can't rate it 5⭐ b/c: 1, The settings don't save when exiting the app. Regardless if it's saved or not, being online beforehand, nothing. It's annoying since I'm on mobile, so I have to draw with my finger. I have to apply this setting. Every. Single. Time. 2, It's not easy to select colors, & I need to tap it 2x. Just, uhhh. These issues can be irritating when having limited amount of time to relax. Please fix this. Besides this, 5 stars!
I really enjoy this app! Its very fun & easy to use. It took a little time to figure out i could scroll in the tools or animate, but i figured it out now. The only issues i've had are; not being able to delete colors from my palette, & color palettes not working with it always saying I'm unauthenticated no matter what. A much smaller "issue" is i wish to view and save drawings without having to edit them please. Thank you!!
I've been using this app for a while. The browser version is super cool, but the mobile version not so much. There are A LOT of glitches, bugs, etc. and the drawing part of the app isn't even usable. It's out of sync with your finger, and most the time doesnt even work. Also, their support sucks. There's two mods that actually communicates and does things, and only ONE is helpful. When you email pixilart support they NEVER respond. My friend and I were harassed and WE got banned by spam reports.
It's not a bad app, and i highly recommend the computer counter part. But it's full of glitches, it lacks lot's of reletively important features that the computer version has, and is terrible if you want to actually draw. This is more of an app you use if your really into pixilart like me, and you want to check it when your not at the computer.
It's a good app. Everything works nicely and the ability to pick color palletes is really nice! My only thing is that random spots appear on my drawings? For example, I can draw a medium gret square. Suddenly, lighter and darker spots and lines start to appear? I'm not sure if this is because of something I did? But it is extremely inconvenient. Edit: I've confirmed that this app is just drawing on its own and ruined what I was doing.
I loved drawing and socializing with my freinds on our school computer with the pixel art website. But im really disappointed in this app. For one, as far as i know, you can't make the canvas bigger than 64×64, which is really a pain. You can't make very detailed drawings, and im used to using 500×500, it feels more natural, and it isn't as messy looking. Two, at first everything was really confusing because it was all clustered together ( for me, at least). Please fix these! :)
While I love the site on PC, I'm not a huge fan of it on mobile. I can't create my own palettes or edit my own drawings I've made on PC. I also can't create layers or gifs, as far as I can tell, which are both two very useful features for me as a game designer and artist. I also can't customize the size of my canvas, which is an immediate issue I had. And lastly, I can't copy and paste selections or use stamps (but this is all from my first impressions. They might be located somewhere but I can't find it.) Otherwise, it's not all that bad. I'm still just going to use it on my browser. 6/10
I LOVE THIS APP!!! It's very simple and fast and I use it to animate. But I have one issue. I would really love to have a button to delete a layer but on every frame of animation. I was doing a little water effect where it would fill up the screen and would flow around invisible letters, I had letters there temporarily so I could know where to not put water, but now I have to delete this layer on all of my 317 frames.
Easily the best Pixel Art app I've come across so far. There's daily challenges to creat art to keep you entertained and help you through an artist block, tons of customization options, and it can even allow you to make animations in a simple way. But it's not perfect. You can only Undo so many times, which gets annoying if you want to fix something, and more tools would be welcome.
Solid app. It's finicky on a little touch screen, which is more a limit of the medium itself, but I hammered out a totally production ready sprite in about an hour. It's got a lot of room for features, like shading modes, and a grayscale filter to switch on and off for really ironing out the values, while being able to ignore the hues. I also wish you could shrink the spray paint nozzle. Those options may be there and I just haven't found them yet, but for a free app it's really quite good.
I've been on the app for a few years(TheKindArtist). It's good, made some friends and it's fun to draw. It's an absolute blast, and I love the jokes users have with Bryan(CEO, I wanna say). However, the downside is the glitching I have, depending on the size of the canvas and if it's an animation, too. Not only that, very few mods and a lot of drama. Other than that, it's good, and I appreciate the hard work and the positivity from the staff. Thank you :D
honestly, there are not as many tool options as there are on the web version, the select tool is really buggy, deleting pixels, adding random stuff that had already been erased, and it is diabolically easy to just exit the drawing and loose all of your progress on what you were editing, and theres only one tracing option, like the fill, cover or contain, so I can't really edit something that you started online with a different tracing option. but other than that, its a great app.
