So here's my honest take on Places Been - Travel Tracker. I've tested a bunch of travel tracking apps and this one's pretty solid. The mapping and visualization features work well, and I like how you can discover new places to visit. But it does have some annoyances, like the occasional ads and the steep learning curve for some of the more advanced features. Overall though, it's a handy tool if you want to keep a digital travel journal.

Pros

  • Tons of countries, cities, and landmarks to discover and track
  • Cool mapping features show your visited places with country flags
  • Free to use, don't have to pay for the core features
  • Detailed travel stats to see how many places you've been
  • Lets you build a personal travel bucket list

Cons

  • UI can be a bit clunky and confusing at first
  • Ads can get annoying if you don't pay for the pro version
  • Upgrading your profile takes a long time and feels grindy

Description

Been using Places Been – Travel Tracker for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you keep track of all the countries, cities, and places you’ve visited in your life. Pretty solid app if you’re into travel and exploring new spots.

Here’s what you do: You can search for places, mark the ones you’ve been to, and it’ll show them on a map with the corresponding country flag. And there’s also an option to discover nearby landmarks, UNESCO sites, and national parks – which is pretty cool. And you can create a personal travel bucket list and get detailed stats on how many countries you’ve visited.

Look, if you’re into travel apps and like keeping track of your adventures, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a simple way to catalog your travels.
