So here's my take on Planit Pro: Photo Planner. I've tested a bunch of photography planning apps and this one's pretty darn good. The feature set is really comprehensive, with all the tools you'd need to plan out landscape, astro, and travel shoots. The AR viewer is a particularly cool feature that I haven't seen in other apps. That said, the UI does take some getting used to - it's not the most intuitive. And the app can feel a bit overwhelming if you're not already into this kind of advanced photography planning. But overall, it's a powerful tool that landscape shooters will appreciate.

  • Presets for different photography styles like time-lapse, astro, etc.
  • Comprehensive data on things like golden hour, moon phases, Milky Way visibility

Cons

  • Interface can be a bit clunky and overwhelming at first
  • Might be overkill for casual photographers

Description

Been using Planit Pro: Photo Planner for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you plan out your landscape and nature photography shoots. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of stuff.

Here’s what you do: you can plug in a location, and the app will show you things like golden hour times, moon phases, Milky Way visibility, and more. There’s also a cool augmented reality viewer that lets you see what a scene will look like at different times of day. And it’s got a bunch of presets for different photography styles like night, timelapse, astro – took me a while to figure all that out but it’s super useful.

Look, if you’re a landscape, travel, or night photographer, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job and helps you plan awesome shots. Worth checking out for sure.
