Reviews for Planta: Plant & Garden Care

I didn't really get to use the app at all, so I can't speak to how it works. I installed it, created an account, and then realized it was subscription based. There is a free version, but all you can do is manually add plants and then get a watering schedule. Sure, I can use Google lens to identify the plant for free, but that seems unnecessary. This app is too expensive for any of the time frames you can choose, in my opinion.

Good app, not always ready to be watered. I have messed around with the soils to adjust the days. Example: My hoyas I put cactus soil to extend the day to be watered. Recently I have noticed it alerts me to water plants but you go to that plant and I still have 10 days left. It's not registering that I have watered it and keeps it on the task list. Never did this before till the last week or so. I have updated the app to the latest version, too.

easy to use, but says a lot of my tropical full sun plants are not suitable outdoors, like my coconut tree? had premium, but features kept getting errors and couldn't figure it out why it worked and didn't. scanner seems pretty accurate. I wish there was an option to change the date of entry when entering tasks for a site, and not enter individually.

so far, its okay. One feature I would suggest adding is allowing to transfer a plant to another user defined location. **edit** thank you. I found it. The settings gear icon you pointed me to was actually very hard to see. It is a dark green color and it sits over the photo of the plant, which happens to also be dark green. I completely did not see this button. Suggestion, give it a white outline, on some plant photos it is almost invisible currently.

Cancelled after a couple days. Out of the first 20 plants I entered, 5 were not in the database. I did repeated requests to add and thought, I am paying 8 bucks to help them build their app. If you have less common plants or any amount of skill, you don't need this app. Google Lens is free and will ID more accurately. Sticking your finger in the soil is a better than a watering schedule.

I like the app for it's information, but I find that the watering schedule is far too often. It tells me to water my outside plants the day after two days rainfall even though it says it adjusts to weather conditions in my area. 9/10x I need to snooze multiple times because my plants don't need water. If I followed this app's recommendation for watering I would have root rot for sure. My instincts and chopstick method is far more accurate, but it is a good place to keep track of your plants.

This app is really awesome. I love being able to track the proper watering and progress of all my plants. Having all the pictures I take in one place is cool. As a suggestion, I think it would be awesome if they implemented more filters when viewing my list of plants. Like filtering by type of plant, plants that have a heat warning for my area, plants that don't do well below a certain temperature, etc. Just a suggestion, but these guys get 5 stars from me! I use this app every day.

Plants fall in several categories for watering. Top 2 in dry, consistently moist, completely dry out, etc. This information should be on the watering reminder. You have to go to the plant information to figure it out. On some plants, it doesn't explain which of those categories. Also, I have the settings to fertilize when watering. I get a separate reminder for each. Another feature this app should offer is to pick preferred watering day. I have 23 plants and get reminders every day.

Ok. I was able to customize the room names based on the response from the developer. I was able to do all the things I was complaing about. I would just recommend to the developer they try to add a tutorial. Also, more plant types/varieties or the ability to add the exact scientific name (with appropriate recommendations on care etc.) It's easier than ever to find unusual varieties of plants.

So far, I like this app very much. Been using it for about a month, plants are doing well, even better tham they were. It correctly identified all my plants on the first try by picture, seems to be helping me water more judiciously, and is pretty unobtrusive on my phone. Just a single notification in my drop down bar if I have a task that day. It also seems to have correctly identified a sickness in one plant and is helping to keep it alive. Great for an amateur enthusiast like me.

It's really good for tracking things and reminders. The biggest flaw, is that it does not have a light choice of indirect sunlight. ** I did get a response from the developer, but it still did not address the issue. Neither one of the options listed is a good substitute for indirect sunlight. Neither are the same condition as indirect sunlight. When I choose either one of the options given it, either flags for too much light or not enough light. So even your app knows it is not a substitute.

Lots of great features, especially for the free version. I use it every day to help care for my plants. I highly recommend this app. Along with a moisture probe, this app changed the way I water plants. One significant issue I wish would be resolved is that if you accidentally press the complete radio button, you can't undo it easily. Planta replied saying I could undo a task which I found and like. It would be cool to just press the button again to undo. Good enough for me though!

It is very helpful by reminding me when to water my indoor plants, which is free, but then it has other tools to let you identify disease. but the free option works great. It really is a great app and also gives you information on the plant and the type of care for it. It works well for indoor plants and i never tried it out for outdoor plants.

Great app for info and watering reminders. I think the layout can be a bit more simplified to make it easier, like organizing plants in areas (front yard, backyard, room, living room, inside, outside, etc.) and adjusting the location they are placed. I moved so I was getting alerts for weather notices from the past location but the weather here is different so I struggled to change it/find the setting. other than that, I like it 👌🏽

I really like the app. I water my babies on my own schedule but this reminds me and keeps track on their progress. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is how the plants are sorted in each site. Please give us the option to select how we want the plants sorted. Yes, having it listed by what plant needs attention is nice but if you're looking for a plant that might not need attention according to your app we have to dig for it. I have a lot of plants so that would be appreciated.

I am fairly new to house plants and tried several apps. So far this one is my favorite. Although I don't follow the water schedule, it is helpful in reminding me to check if they need water. If they don't I snooze/skip the task. it helps me track when I fertilized last which was a game changer. it does take a while to figure out how to navigate all the features but I like it now. I've been using it almost 3 months. UPDATE: Please develop a section for a plant wishlist (no task/site req.).

I uninstalled this app as quickly as I installed it. you literally can't do anything unless you pay for it.. EDIT (to response) I do see that there is a free version but you cannot do anything with it LOL.. when the chart holds up that shows what you get with the free version compared to the paid version.. literally every single feature is locked.

Can't manually enter location. This app helps me remember to water my plants. It has a customized watering schedule for each plant based on a variety of variables. I don't like that it doesn't have an option to manually enter my location. Instead it asks to access my location. It doesn't need to know where my phone is at all times. All the app needs is the city and state the plants are located in. In December it told me to wait until March to water my plants. They would have died if I did that.

I would like to be able to record more information on the site, like which shelf it is of which rack, or even for when I have multiple plants in one pot, which pot. For now, I've made my biggest multi-plant pots into sites of their own, but you can only use 20 characters to name a site, so that's also a limitation I don't like.

not what I expected. I thought I could use it as a database type app. don't need reminders on when to water (the only "free" part) but it doesn't have unique plants, only pretty common ones. there is an option to "suggest" a plant but nothing came of that and it's not on my list. As far as I can tell, if they don't have it, you can't add it. otherwise the app is a little busy but has lots of benefits for the beginner.
