I've had the paid version of Player Pro for years. Loved it. After the latest update on my Galaxy S20FE every mp3 in my library says "playback not supported by this file format". If this isn't rectified, that's a nail in the coffin. I mean they already have my money so what am I gonna do about it, just sucks that something like that could possibly pass through an update.
Reviews for PlayerPro Music Player (Pro)
I've loved this app for years, however, even with help from customer service, there is no way to clear the way the app stores information when you switch to a new phone and then another new phone and then another. So, instead of having 1,000 songs it shows I have 4,000. App has wrong artist associated with song playing. Now, only every other song actually plays. I have to skip songs to hear music. I used to love this app. Uninstalling, looking for a new one.
The player itself is the best ever. However, a major issue has been occurring and gotten worse for 2 years now. When I pause the player for more than a few seconds and try to play again the app is frozen. I have to fully close out and re-start the app every single time. Tried fully uninstalling and re-installing plus disabling the battery saver options but it still happens every time.
Not user friendly at all. No way to combine albums into a single album in the app. Every song has to be in the same folder. So if you have an album that is split into 2 volumes, it separates it into 2 albums in the app. Also won't play wma files at all. Bought the pro version hoping for something that worked better than Rocket Player. Seems like both have massive faults now that are deal breakers for me.
A few issues keeping it from perfection. 1. The invisible fast-scroll bar on the right side of the screen is obnoxious and overly sensitive, and as far as I can tell can't be turned off... So many times I just try to click on the album and then I'm halfway down the alphabet from the album I wanted to play. 2. Pausing when the phone's screen is not on (through Bluetooth or whatnot) causes the app to freeze, making you have to completely shutdown the app to get it working again.
I love this app, but there is always one issue preventing me from giving it a 5 star review. That one issue right now is that it sorts album tracks out of order, this is because the program database treats the track number field as text instead of numbers thus any album with more than 9 tracks will sort tracks 1, 10, 11, 12, 13... Before listing tracks 2, 3, 4 and so on. If they fixed this minor bug, I would gladly give them a 5 star review. Come on guys, it's a minor SQL update, make it happen!
Best music player app I have used. Great for people that are really picky about their music collections. Only issue is I have a new phone (S20 FE) and when I pause the music on Bluetooth it will randomly start playing again. And sometimes the player will disappear from my notifications area when paused for a short time. Not an issue on my old phone. Any way to keep it there longer?
I used this for nearly a year and it never worked right. Constant issues with freezing and poor randomization (I get the same songs over and over again). Most recently it has started connecting to my Bluetooth devices poorly and skipping around the songs. I just finally uninstalled it, as it seems pretty clear that the people who made it are no longer supporting it. It still has some functions that I am going to miss, but it was too much of a PITA to keep around. Switched to Musicolet.
Clearly the best music player for Android... Hands Down! I've been using this player for years and it was worth every penny but now with Marshmallow and adoptable storage it can no longer find my media. It finds the first file and stops there. I've tried everything to make it work, to no avail. Please find a fix for this. I can find my media with almost all of the other players in the appstore. I miss you old friend...
Update 9/22/19: Total stability and memory usage. Much better. Best music player in the play store. Update: very high RAM usage, doesn't release RAM after closing, then caused the Bluetooth service to use excessive RAM, the only way to fix is turn Bluetooth off and back on. This is the only music player that does this. GoneMad player doesn't do this. The best music player on Android available today. Get it. Your iOS friends will be jealous!
