Potentially could be a useful app but: 1. filter doesn’t work (stations which should show do not; clear/rest filter doesn’t work), 2. shows stations not publicly available, cluttering up the map. So overall not very useful.

i quite like this app, however, i loaded a trip into my computer, saved it and then in my car, going on this journey, I using plugshare and Android Auto, I only got navigation to the charging stations along the way, not the destinations, which was why I was making the trip. There’s room for […]
I’ve been using this app for years and it’s mostly great. The latest update adds more info to photos, including who uploaded it. Nice! Current problems: 1. As of mid-2025 update, the keyboard obscures the checkin comment area. EDIT: fixed in a later update! Rating increased! Thanks! 2. When we tap for directions, the mapping […]
I am on a long road trip. Currently have traveled in the last several weeks. Plugshare has been invaluable and helping me find charging stations along my route. It also gives me the ability to add additional charging stations that I have found not yet on plugshare. I love the ability to add and photos […]
Wonder why the app is missing a lot of charging stations that EZ Charge has. Update: Thank you for the response. Thanks to your comment, I realized that I need to check “required fee” to show all the CHAdeMO stations that I look for. I don’t remember that I ever touched that option before. I […]
Update: I figured out that the app is just glitchy and can crash if GPS is turned off. Just turn it on before opening the app. Original: Very useful app when it works. Twice recently I’ve had the map get stuck on “loading locations” and I can scroll and see chargers but not click on […]
It’s a nice app, but I don’t think the PlugShare scores are accurate. The chaging costs aren’t accurate either, because they only show the base price per kilowatt hour or unit of time. They don’t mention the additional costs, such as sales taxes, franchise fees, gross receipts taxes local option surtaxes, and utility taxes. (Yes, […]
It misses 3 locations near me where I know there is power. But it captures every restaurant, grocery, feed store, market, etc which fills up the map and that cannot be toggled off. I can’t turn off the map blocking ad banner. I get that the developers need ads to support the app but dang […]
An essential but incomplete solution to EV route planning. It’s a lifesaver for finding non-Tesla chargers, especially destination chargers at hotels. But they’ve punted on route planning on the app. You can’t plan or edit on the app, just the desktop web site. Also, there seems to be no way to enter an overnight stay […]
One of my favorite things about PlugShare is that it has a large variety of different charging plugs you can filter out to get the one’s that you can use. Another neat feature is that it shows if any of the chargers are available if the person charging has reported so. One more convenience of […]
Someone was posting comments on my account. I emailed the developer and had no response. Now, with the new update, the locations don’t load. I can’t see the locations I frequent, and the app functionality has gone way downhill. It’s been bad the last few months, but now it’s not a usable app. Update: Since […]
Love the app, but there needs to be simpler functions for while driving. I can’t open the map and look for a charger while driving down the highway, and don’t want to stop because my car has low range. It should have a function to pick the next closest supercharger along your route with the […]
For the most part, PlugShare is the best and quickest way to find a charging station on the fly. Although, I still prefer to check a station’s app for availability, especially if it’s those dorks at EA with only one CHAdeMO per location. PlugShare also let me do good research during the months that I […]
Great tool for EV owners. Would really help to be able to filter out all of the dealership chargers, as well as to be able to exclude ‘negative star’ locations I’ve been to and don’t ever want to go back to (e.g., ‘public access’ stations that are mostly camped on by employees at facilities with […]
I’d give it the last star if it had more users who used it to check in (and left a note if it was an unsuccessful charge). Also, if it somehow pushed that info to the owner of the station so they could get the charger back online faster… maybe I’m dreaming, but if you […]
Absolutely love the app, but even for a tech savvy person, I find if i haven’t used the app in a while (months), it is hard to remember how to check-in, or how to get to a feature. Pretty obvious when i find it, but maybe this means the app could use a UX overhaul, […]
Basically GasBuddy for EV drivers. Although it doesn’t have a rate feature, only locations and availability (and other obvious things like reviews and photos). I especially love the check-in feature, which is how you get availability of stations. But it’s only as accurate as the people using the app, so if you have an EV […]
We electric car people like to have info on location of car chargers. This app shows some of them and gives user reviews. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to allow me to add charging stations that it doesn’t already know about. Specifically, in Maryland, some public libraries have free level 2 charging stations in their parking […]
I would have paid for premium if there was an option to hide stations. Like GasBuddy, this app can only show you every station. I don’t want 200 locations cluttering my screen that are in parking garages or apartments I will never visit. Overtime, you should be able to build a usable map of your […]
Great for finding charging stations and letting users post reviews. HOWEVER, the distance indicator on a charging station appears to be “as the crow flies,” not “actual driving route.” Nearly got stranded on the mountains because the app said a charging station was ten miles away, but when we switched over to Google maps for […]
