Reviews for Podcast Addict: Podcast player

I was sad to lose the Google Podcast app, but this has been a decent replacement. It's super customizable, and the devs are very receptive to feedback. It's absolutely worth the few bucks a year it costs for the premium version. I like it better (for podcasts) than Spotify, YouTube, Stitcher, or any of the other apps I've tried.

This app has a nice clean interface, and I've been able to find all the podcasts that I'm interested in by searching within the app. And the steaming radio function works great too. One problem though... I download podcasts in order to listen to them later, and I wish there was a way to delete the podcast right from the player screen, instead of having to backtrack to find a screen where I could delete the podcast. Can you guys add a delete button to the player screen?

I switched over to this podcast player in 2023 when my previous podcast app was discontinued. I've been very pleased with the quality of this app and even paid the one-time fee to remove ads (one of the best pay for is on Google in my opinion). this is a great app with periodic updates and an excellent user experience. I'd highly recommend downloading and trying for your podcasting needs.

Overall has all wat you need for podcasts. Interface a little bit overloaded and unstructured especially in settings. some functions are difficult to find or adjust. some minor complaints. for example if one your podcast needs to be sorted one way and other different way, I didn't find how to do it for a particular podcast. only globally. Feels like it does an engineer not marketing specialist or UI/UI specialist. but overall it is good app for podcast and books. also work great on Google auto.

Update - I still think his is the best podcast listening ap out there, and I have the free version. Well worth supporting if you can afford to! Podcast Addict has easy ways to download episodes so you can listen when not in WiFi or cell service, easy to make a playlist, easy to delete episodes you've already listened to so you can free up space, easy to search for podcasts, easy to subscribe. Newest version is better then ever! Better than older version, easier to sort new downloaded episodes.

I bought all of the other big names because some had "this" feature, others "that," but none had all that I wanted/needed. Podcast Addict does, and with an intuitive UI to boot. I especially like the feed keyword filters where I can grab only what *I* want from a feed. Volume Boost is helpful when listening while showering. Silence Skip saves my nerves (and time) when listening to podcasters who pause for effect. And the search engines are great. (Plus all the features I liked from the others.)

This is an extensively featured (I've barely touched most of them) podcast app with noticable, but not at all bothersome ads (with no audio/video thankfully). The only thing missing for me would be an easy way to queue up additional episodes to play after the current one (just an option to "add to playlist after current episode" would work).

I have used this application for close to a decade. It is the most flexible and configurable app out there. Ironically this makes it more difficult to use, so I removed a star for that. However, the defaults are good for most so it is worth a try by all. Every couple of years I try another podcast app but always return to Podcast Addict. And I do so because I want my playlist just so. I want my downloads just so. I want it all my way and PA always supports what I want... and usually more!

It's a great podcast app that I've been using for years and years. I recently got a new phone, and when I transferred the data over from my old phone to my new one, all my podcasts and episodes were transferred. I don't know if this is the standard these days, but I was really happy to easily continue listening to my podcast easily. I would never use a different podcast app because this one does it all.

all of a sudden, since 9/2 the automatic update no longer seems to work on the paid / non-subscription version of the app. thinking that it might be an issue with the app being put to sleep, I double-checked, and it is definitely marked not to be put to sleep in power management. I can only assume this is some kind of bug introduced with the new subscription based model. it's a real shame, because the app was very good and I had recommended it several times to people.
