Been using PolarFinder Pro for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you precisely position your telescope mount, which is super useful for astrophotographers. You can choose to use your GPS or enter custom coordinates and times to figure out the exact position of Polaris (north) or Sigma Octantis (south). Once you’ve got the position calculated, the app shows you how to align your polar scope – it even has an option to flip the image so it matches what you see through the eyepiece. Pretty nifty stuff if you’re into that kind of thing.

So here's my take on PolarFinder Pro. I've tested a bunch of astronomy apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. It's got a ton of features but it's still pretty easy to use. The polar alignment stuff works really well and saves a ton of time compared to trying to figure it out manually. On the downside, the UI is a little basic and the free version has some annoying ads. But overall, if you're into astrophotography, I'd say it's worth checking out.
Pros
- Accurately calculates Polaris/Sigma Octantis position
- Flips image to match your telescope view
- Free to use with option to pay for ad-free version
- Fairly easy to figure out even if you're not super technical
Cons
- Interface is a bit bare-bones
- Ads can be annoying in free version
- Wouldn't be that useful if you're not into astrophotography
