So here's my take on Police Radar - Camera Detector. I've tested a bunch of driving apps and this one's actually pretty solid. The radar/camera detection works well and I like that it's crowdsourced so the info stays up-to-date. But the database has some gaps, especially for mobile traps. And the ads can get a little annoying if you don't pay. Overall though, it's a helpful app if you wanna avoid those pesky speeding tickets. Definitely worth a download if that's your thing.

Description

I’ve been using Police Radar – Camera Detector for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that warns you about fixed and mobile speed cameras on the road. Pretty solid if you’re into driving apps and don’t want to get pulled over.

Here’s what you do – it uses your phone’s GPS to show where all the speed traps and police patrols are on a map. There’s also a speedometer feature that shows your current speed. And it lets you mark new cameras that other users can see, which is a neat crowdsourcing thing. Took me a little while to figure out all the settings but it’s pretty intuitive overall.

Look, if you get a lot of speeding tickets or just wanna drive a little faster sometimes, you’ll probably find this app useful. It’s not perfect – the database of cameras can be spotty in some areas – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re into that kinda thing.

Brilliant, it's not the police I'm worried about, it's the gangs of kids they are usually chasing, so I use it to see which way is best to walk at...

It keeps putting a notification on screen that I need to enable the Location, so I have several times and it keeps saying that so I can't use the app....

This app has saved me from speed traps even the mobile vans that you cannot see until you are right on top of them I use it all the time.
