So here's my take on Polycam: 3D Scanner & Editor. I've tried a bunch of 3D capture apps and this one's pretty solid. The 3D scanning works really well, and I love how you can just snap a few photos and turn them into a 3D model. The editing tools are also super handy for cleaning up your scans. That said, it can be a bit temperamental at times, and the learning curve is a little steeper than I'd like. But if you're willing to put in the time, Polycam is a great way to start experimenting with 3D content creation on your phone.

Description

Been using Polycam: 3D Scanner & Editor for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take photos and turn them into 3D models. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do – you just point your phone’s camera at an object or scene, and the app uses some fancy tech to stitch the photos together into a 3D model. There’s also some advanced editing tools, so you can crop, rotate, and resize your 3D captures. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it’s pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re an architect, designer, or just someone who likes messing around with 3D stuff, you’ll probably get a kick out of Polycam. It’s not perfect – the 3D scans can be a bit finicky sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to bring your photos to life in a new dimension.
