I just got done working and I'm exhausted and hungry. Sitting in the parking lot, I order food. I walk in and wait, just to realize I ordered at the wrong location. Even though I go-to the map in the app and it shows me that I'm 2 feet away from store, but my order is 8 miles away at the location I ordered from 2 days ago. I dunno maybe because the color of the location label was a different color. Maybe I didn't look allllll the way to the top, even though everything is down at the bottom.

Well this time I mistakenly order at the wrong location and unfortunately I could not cancel the payment through the app. Customer service did offer me a $20.00 credit for the mishap in which I was so thankful for! Now all I have to do is figure out how to redeem it. PLEASE help me because what they told me to do is not working and apparently their employees are not trained on the app either!
The app works well for placing orders. Make sure the store you choose, is the one you'll be picking up from. Also, the rewards code includes dashes but the app doesn't accept them. So if you want to be rewarded for your purchase you have to chat with the team and hope you get your reward points. I can't imagine mgmt is not aware of the apps flaws. Business ethics is questionable if they are aware, but don't address it.
Update: Check your subtotal before ordering! Ordering two items, one at 9.99 and one at .99 gave me a subtotal of 11.18! Two weeks ago ordered an item and was told at pickup it was a "limited time" item they hadn't carried for two weeks. As of today that item is still supposedly available in the app. This has happened with two additional menu items since that time. Coupled with promo offers that constantly reroute to error pages and ordering in the app is becoming more of a pain than its worth.
A poor review to hopefully improve user experience. I love Popeyes chicken, and buy it too often. The app experience is really annoying. The app does not automatically search for the nearest store, only the last location purchased. Then, changing the location mid order will make you start all over and preferences will default. I just want my food. I don't want to spend hours making sure my order isn't messed up. I was also given a location in a military base that I could not pick up but...
This is the worst app for a fast food restaurant. The app defualted to pick up after I put my address in for delivery. Charged me $28 and change for pick up. I had to reorder the same thing, was the. charged $44 and change and couldn't cancel the first order. I also couldn't reach the restaurant on the phone to cancel either. I tried to contact support, which is automated, filed a ticket and couldn't choose that order again for another ticket because I haven't heard anything from them. Awful!
I like that you can get offers but this app is confusing like why are you able to use in store codes sometimes for some orders and others not and sometimes I cant even redeem my receipt code. I dont like that the points expire I was saving up my points and had a lot and then I had none and had to start again. some of the bundles that I want to save for cost alot and it's not like I eat Popeyes everyday. Also why are the prices different for every store some are cheaper than others.
Here's another fastfood app that does it right. As long as you have a valid email address and can keep yourself signed in, you'll be collecting points and able to use them at some point. I can never use my points because of the good deals that have going on. I've had one problem, and that was recent. My location wasn't showing up and I couldn't order from my phone, somehow their connection to the app was severed but ever since then, it's been operable.
Super slow app, or slowest app on the planet? Download it and decide for yourself, when you've got an hour to burn. Why. why? I haven't gotten bored enough to actually trace calls, but I have to assume some idiot graphic designer used a drag and drop program to build this. sheesh. I can make chicken faster than I can order it. 2 stars 'cause I can eventually get chicken.
Edit/update 2025-09-25: Wow. This app still sucks. I added several items to my bag and chose the store, got an error that some items aren't available. No indication of what is not available. Called the store, nothing I ordered is out. Tried again with 3 piece spicy tenders, signature sauce, Mac and cheese, root beer. Same error. Changed sauces, still the error. No way to tell what the problematic item is. Y'all need to learn how to create an app correctly. 5 years later, it's still trash.
App has too many glitches. Ordered two separate times didn't get a receipt one time and got a receipt without a transaction code so I missed out on point twice. The kiosk in some restaurant have error message when trying to enter coupons and the staff do not want to help. To many times the transaction code is not printed on the receipt in order to claim reward points.
Actual garbage app. Doesn't work with numerous issues. Never gets updated. Delivery doesnt let you choose the restaurantand doesnt even show which one it is. "Price order failure" doesn't even let you place an order. Customer support LITERALLY doesn't work and puts you in an infinite loop without the option to speak to an actual human, have scammed me out of 70$ because my order was entirely wrong and they won't do anything about it. Delivery prices are upcharged. Wow, this sucks hard.
I'm going to be honest, full price popeye's is pricey. So I used the offers in the app. There would be roughly half designated pick up only and the other half was delivery only. Now EVERY SINGLE of the seven offers in that tab are for delivery only. Now a single one is for pick up. I tried to another location about 20 minutes away and had the same thing. Without the special offers, these app is useless to me.
The app itself is user friendly but not happy from a technical standpoint. Do not add money to the gift card payment option, or you'll be out that money. I have $40 loaded that I'm unable to use. I've reached out to support multiple times to no avail. Months later I continue to receive the error message. There seems to be no worry about me being out $40.
App overcharges me by $2 consistently. Worker at the store told me that the store prices are higher than the app prices, but for some reason, the app doesn't change prices from store to store the way literally every other app does. So I've been "overcharged" multiple times by this app, and gotten sticker shock more than once. The app developers and Popeyes as a corporate brand should be ashamed of themselves, being this incompetent in 2025.
so disappointed the app doesn't work. I order from Popeyes at least once a week due to travel. I would absolutely love to build loyalty by placing my orders through the app, but unfortunately the app is garbage. it never loads, and if It does successfully load, I am unable to ever pay for my order. Once I get to the checkout page, none of the buttons to let me pay ever works. disappointing but expected from a brand like this
This app and the website is absolutely garbage. I sat in the lot for more than ten minutes fighting with the app to redeem an offer, but it kept crashing. If the app wasn't crashing, then it was telling me to pick a date and time even though both were selected. This was extremely frustrating. I was really craving popeyes and I only with coupons or when the app decides to work because it's pricey without it. I have no expectations of this issue being resolved. I am extremely disappointed.
Overall the app isn't too bad, however, I'm not a fan. My biggest issue I have with this app is if I try to use a promotional offer for wings, it glitches and limits the wing sauce choices. So if you want a certain sauce, you have to pay full price despite the sauces not costing extra. Second, what's the point of ordering ahead for pick-up if I still have to wait in the 10-25 more minutes for pick-up. Every time I've ordered ahead, my food has never been ready or the order was wrong.
Firstly, the app is not that easy to navigate. Customer Service is hard to navigate as well. I'm an old-school type of person. To solve an issue I prefer to actually speak to a human, not a computer generated object. I don't want a coupon for a missing item, I would like my money back. Customer Service reached out to me with a coupon but when I mentioned a refund the responses went unanswered. Someone PLEASE HELP
I've been very happy with my last two orders from Popeye's in Hackettstown. when they first opened, my orders were incomplete and not cooked properly. they seem to have turned everything around and the food is coming out hot, the orders are complete, and they're exactly as I've asked them to be prepared. I love ordering on the app because it allows me to customize things the way I want and I see exactly what I have done
