10/10 app it has everything you could need to boost and better your phones audio. I love this app, only thing that I cannot figure out is why my assigned preset aren't changing when plugged into source. It shows in my notifications it changed but when you click on presets it shows the previous one still. Maybe bug or something on my end. But that alone is small compared to what this app does for you and your music, plus there is hundreds of preset for so many headphone and systems. Buy it!!!!!!
Reviews for Poweramp Equalizer
← Back to Poweramp EqualizerThis was a no-brainer purchase. This app is great! It is the only eq app I could get to integrate with Amazon Music (streaming) AND Android Auto. The signal processing is excellent, too. I finally feel like I'm getting the most out of my car's speakers. It's like I installed a new system in my ride. Happy to $upport the development of this app. Thank you!!!
It's such a pain to adjust EQ and switch from one band to another. There's also no way to undo accidental touch, or know that you accidentally touch something and changed its value. A small feedback noti or change in color would be helpful. Also very had to go from one par EQ to another. Have to scroll just right. No easy way to upload filter from commons app such as REW. Would gladly pay if I can edit this on my PC instead due to bigger screen. Also make it easier to upload custom filters.
The best EQ app I've found so far. When I raise the higher end, the sound doesn't lower like the built-in EQ in Spotify and all other EQ apps I've tried. You can assign certain EQs to certain devices which is so convenient. Happily paid. After reading other comments, I wish Google let us respond to them. I have the Pixel 9 Pro XL and don't have any problems. I noticed I do run into problem with certain Bluetooth devices with the volume at near 100% when first connected. Don't think it's the app
Wow!!! I have gotta get me one of these!!!! I'm gonna keep this app. I'm a professional sound engineer, it is exceptional!! Flexibility!! Need I say more. I use it in my truck, streaming from my phone. I can even use it with my studio recording, so to listen in my truck!! The compressor is amazing!! Feels like being in the studio. It's good to go!! I highly recommend it if you want studio quality sound
Having previously posted a low rating and inaccurate review. I've come to realize I was flat out wrong! After installing many, many, i.e.,(30) similar Amp/Eq apps. I quickly learned. Most apps were so bad. I'd uninstall them almost immediately. I found three that worked OK. But, as a 40-year audiophile/sound quality nut IMO Poweramp Equalizer is the most accurate in sound quality and function. The ability to change the # of Eq bands is a great feature. It's crucial for hi res frequencies.
Awesome equalizer app with plenty of features. The parametric mode is very helpful to tweak headphones (I have not tried it on speakers, but it should work equally well). You can set the function (low pass, high pass, notch, etc.), the Q factor ("spread") and the frequency by exact values. Also tracks the audio sink and applies the right profile depending on the sink connected (USB, built-in, BT). Comes with the instruction and resources needed to grant DUMP permission so it can equalize the output of just about any app. Combine this with a wave generator app, and you will have a very good set up to tune audio (output) apparatus.
I spent many years working in the mobile electronics industry and when I was in my 20s one of the first things I'd do is replace the entire system in a vehicle and add amps/sub(s). In my 40s now with 3 kids and new speakers in my Trailboss Custom just hasn't been a priority. This app gives a very broad range of adjustments to bring just about anything modern to a higher level. I was shocked at how much improvement I gained and cannot imagine what it will be like once I eventually do upgrade!
S24 Ultra - Sometime I'm 2024, this EQ took a turn for the worse. Most of the time, no bass, some bass, quiet, muffled, treble is low and other random different things. When it's perfect 10% of the time, the sound great. I've changed this setting, that setting, search online, nothing. But I've been a customer of EQ since 2021, and Poweramp since 2011. I'm giving up on the EQ and looking for something else that works. I can't even find instructions on all the features.
It took me a while to figure this app out, but I'm getting the hang of it the more I use it. I'm understanding what each adjustment does. I studied radio\tv\film production and took a few classes in audio production and recording so I know what sounds good and what doesn't. I just don't remember all the technical terms and don't really like the no DVC for Bluetooth thing. But, it still sounds good and it's affordable. I love it! Thank you so much! 🤙😎
I can't believe I only just discovered this app. I've been a die hard fan and long time user of Poweramp since it's initial release. It has always had, hands down, the best sound possibly available on Android. I'm so buzzed that I can now bring this sound quality to you tube music and other music apps. I have my audio piped out to an ES100 DAC and the sound is incredible. Premium was an instant purchase for me. Keep up the incredible work.
Absolute game changer! I've been on an "audiophilic" mission. it started after switching from Bluetooth to wired. CRAZY difference on its own. **I had always used my Samsungs built-in EQ and didn't like how it dipped the overall volume when making any kind of adjustment. This app has transformed my music listening experience through my Sony headphones. I didn't even know my headphones could produce such clarity and dynamics. 👍
I have tried dozens and dozens of equalizers and all I've had is trouble. Most of them come with a bass booster. I don't need a bass booster, it's an equalizer. A bass booster can damage your speakers. This EQ runs as a background service and won't quit on you. It has DVC settings unlike all the other ones so I can control how bluetooth behaves as far as controlling the volume to prevent damage to the speakers. I recommend this equalizer above all others. Presets for each separate player app.
Excellent, I wish spatial sound was an option or at least plugins we're available. There's a spot in the app for plugins but I can't find them anywhere or figure out how to use them. I would like to see more options for controlling sound in future releases. Higher sample rates, 3D audio and the like. You can never have too much control over your audio, that's one of the reasons I chose this application. I wanted as much control over the sound as possible.
An absolutely stellar experience, that has not failed me once in the year or so ive had it. Keep in mind, I followed their guide to give it pretty much all priority over my phone's sound system, but in doing that, the app has never shut down, always successfully applies automated EQ Presets, and works with anything (Youtube, Spotify, Bandcamp, Browser audio) All that not to mention how powerful the EQ is, or its range, which are both satisfactory. Buy this app, anything else is second rate.
It's a great idea and has lots of potential but it absolutely introduces artifacts into the music at the high registers. Don't worry, you're not going crazy out just hearing things. It's really there. I would prefer getting my money back but that's not likely possible. Top quality headphones tend to not allow for EQ issues such as this. Restarts of the phone and headphones and reconnecting Bluetooth doesn't help
Okay, as an audiophile, I've burned thru some EQ and compressor apps. There are some I like most if the features but will continue to look for a better. The search is over. I didn't get thru half the settings three days into the free trail and I straight up bought it. It had improved every system I have used. Even if the EQ is sufficient on a good piece of equipment, I still use this app as a preamp or a boost EQ. I use it for everything it recognizes. Everyone should try it out.
Best equalizer/bass boosting app I've ever tried. But there's an issue that ruins it for me. It seems that if you have the volume at 34% (or around there) and below, it seems like the bass boosting function significantly reduces or turns off all together after a little bit. For example, if I had my volume at at 40% or higher, the bass boosting works perfectly fine. Then if I reduced it to around 34% , the bass boosting will stay working for about a minute. Please fix! I'm on the Galaxy A54 5G.
I love it. The best and only EQ app ill use even though it is a bit quirky. For example, when using with AirPods, their max volume is about 50% of what other headphones I use. In my vehicles, ive noticed the volume will increase a good amount, at least 20% when reconnected to the same device.. ive no idea why it does that, but it happens more than it doesn't and I dont care. I love, love, LOVE the compressor function and wish it was a thing for the Poweramp player as well.
Will update rating later once my new earbuds come. Currently using Pixel Buds, 1st Gen. Eating that extra "oomph" with the bass..Problem is, after a restart (phone, apps), I'm not getting it. Volume dial works on the app, but as far as the pre-sets, there's no difference in sound (including bass dial). Visualizations , I thought they'd react to the music playing. They do not. I'd really like for this app to work. I haven't paid for the premium yet, maybe that's the issue?
