Reviews for Poweramp Music Player

I've been using this app for over 6 or 7 years, I believe, and it truly is fantastic! I don't know the limitations it has on equalizer settings, but for everything I connect my phone to, I have a setup for these. My phone has my entire music library of over 9k songs, and I use it every day while I travel. There are also the fractals that can be made active. Fantastic!

Was worthwhile for quite some time, but on getting a new phone, it now changes to "all random" mode whenever it connects to a device (seems like every device, every time). For example, I'm listening to a new album I want to hear the whole of, but on moving to my car, it'll finish the current song then jump to somewhere random in my collection and I have to pop my phone open, change the settings back, and find the album again. Gets very, very, very tedious. Deleted.

While I respect the developer's decision to overhaul the entire application, I wish they'd left an option in there for "Classic UI", this new look just has too much going on and I don't like the song info being superimposed over the album art at all. It would also be nice if this app got Android Auto support so I could stop using my old iPod to play music in the car. Being an audiophile, PowerAmp's music engine is bar none the best sounding...just wish the app was a little cleaner and more versatile.

Licensing of the full version lets it down, maybe there's a setting to stop it, but I've not found it yet. The app contacts the Play servers to check you're licensed, which is great until you're 30000 feet in the sky halfway across the Atlantic at which point you'd better hope you've got an alternative application available, because that's the end of listening to Poweramp. This happens to me all the time, I've search for better apps and I still like Poweramp, but more often than not, I end up unable to use on a trip.

Best music app out there. I've used it for over 10 years. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because they updated the app recently where you can't add a particular song to a playlist more than once. For example, sometimes I want my favorite songs to play more than once as a shuffled playlist runs its course. So frustrating.

For the longest time I was really happy with Poweramp. I've had it for years. Lately it doesn't recognize new songs that are added to it or save my playlists. Kind of a deal breaker for me. Update: I already did what they suggested by updating the music file and doing a full rescan. That did not fix it. it happens every time it updates that I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. It has become a real pain. Might be time to go to something else.

after the recent update Music is not resuming after call ends. please fix it I have checked all the settings. But no use build 991 And I updated the app, and Now AUDIO FOCUS SETTINGS ARE NOT EVEN WORKING.I checked with other audio players they work fine but poweramp is not working, it stops the play when notification arrive or other game or plyer is in use. and doesn't resume playing after call is ended. PLEASE FIX THIS I AM USING LATEST BUILD

I don't know why I didn't discover this sooner. I mean I've heard about power amp for many years now but I've had so many different audio players and I I'm a HiFi enthusiast. this player is great. the thing keeping me from making it 5 stars is that I don't like that the track information is obscuring the album art. it would be nice if the track, title and song information was right above the play are controls instead of covering the album art. besides that, very nice. keep up the good work.

This app has been my go-to for music for over a decade, but over the past year, it's become increasingly unreliable. One moment I'm playing music without any issues, and the next, my entire library disappears. I’ve had to rescan my collection multiple times—at least four times just in the past month. It’s incredibly frustrating.

This is a great, full-featured music app, and I wish I could give it a higher rating, but there is a long standing bug that causes your entire music catalog to disappear seemingly at random. This has happened to me at least 10 times over the last several years of using the paid version. It can be fixed with a full rescan, but that is a very long process for someone with a large mp3 collection, and it wipes out the "added" dates making it impossible to see what was added recently. A shame.

This app with the eq sounds great. All kinds of presets. For different kinds of music. Or how you like it to sound. Sure you set how you want. (I know theirs a separate eq app. Not sure if the version I have just has more because it was older than updated. Or they kept them. I know it did add more on one update for the eq.)

the king of music players on Android. period. purchased the full version all the way back in 2012 and have used it on every Android i've owned since. i wish every app was designed as intelligently as Poweramp, other developers should be taking notes. the best UI, the best UX, the best features, the highest reliability, if you need a music player just go ahead and buy the full version and thank yourself for it later.

This app takes control of your device, even when it is "off". For example, using the controls of bluetooth ear buds to "play" will almost always start up whatever music was playing on this app. even if you turned it "off" and arr using another app that plays audio, like Audible or another music player. Uncool

This is the best music player I've used yet. It has lots of categories to organize all my stuff and a nice interface with a helpful built-in equalizer. The only possible downside I see is that there's no way to import lyrics for the music, whereas I've used other apps with that feature. Otherwise it's really great and makes for a good alternative to Spotify where you can upload custom songs. Though the best thing to me is that its a one-time purchase.

tentative 5 stars. I've been having a very difficult time finding a music app that easily recognizes a USB drive. doesn't seem like it should be that big a challenge, but... importantly, the library persists with the USB drive removed so it doesn't need to rescan when it's plugged back in, unlike musicolet. UI is a little busy but I'll get used to it. haven't used it for long yet but my early impressions are positive.

When either swapping bluetooth devices or coming back in range of the source device (smartphone), PowerAmp "barges in", (without playing over or simultaneously playing) assuming that it should resume play even if at that time I was listening to another program or app, such as Spotify or TouTube. Sometimes, this is accidentally welcome (my playlist on Poweramp I'm very fond of), while other times it is not. If there is a setting that governs this, I have yet to find it.

After owning the app for a few years, it has been amazing but this new issue has developed recently and I am unsure how to fix it despite looking through past responses to this issue. Recently when I am adding music to the folders that the app scans and uses as the music library, it is no longer reading those files. I shift the folder into a new storage area and rescan, does not read. I go to the settings>library>folders I enable for it the read. I do a full library rescan. It doesn't work.

Should be the default music app; I can't believe Samsung or Google hasn't bought it! I've been using Poweramp for 11 years, except for the short period of time it wasn't updated and stopped working on new devices. I've found nothing better and can't imagine how it could be any better. Beautiful interface, options beyond compare, surprisingly simple to use. So many advanced features and it just WORKS! JRiver for PC, PA for Android. Don't ever go away again, it was like going through a divorce.

Been using Poweramp for 7 years. Never had a major problem with it. I will say there is one annoyance with Poweramp that never happened before. Everytime I connect my phone to my car bluetooth. The musis will just auto play. I went into the setting & turn off auto play from blurtooth device & the problem is still there. I don't know what else to do. I'll still give it a 5 star.

Simple, easy-to-use. Downside: ALWAYS resumes play when it connects to a vehicle even if the app is closed at the time.. In the settings, there's supposed to be a way to prevent this, but it doesn't work. Also tried changing the "Ignore Bluetooth" settings as recommended by the developer. Now, I can't stop the music from the device until after the timed delay set by the "Ignore" setting... the app still plays music as soon as it connects.
