So here's my take on Preference Manager: Addon. I've tested a bunch of tools like this and this one's pretty solid. The UI is clean and it's packed with features for advanced users. And in my experience, the backup/restore and custom code execution are the standout features. But it's not without its flaws - the root requirement is a bit annoying and it can get a little overwhelming if you're not familiar with shared prefs. Overall though, I'd say it's one of the better options out there for this kind of thing.

Pros

  • Tons of features for advanced Android users
  • Backup and restore shared preferences
  • Can execute custom code for debugging
  • Detailed info on app preferences
  • Free to use, no ads or in-app purchases

Cons

  • Requires root access, which could be a dealbreaker
  • UI can be a bit complex for casual users
  • Might be overkill if you just need basic preference management

Description

Been using Preference Manager: Addon for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you dig into your Android device’s shared preferences. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing – it’s got a ton of features for advanced users who want to really customize their apps.

Here’s what you can do: you can view, edit, and delete shared preference values. And there’s also a backup and restore function, which is pretty cool. And it’s got this cool feature where you can actually execute custom code – took me a while to figure that out but it’s super useful for debugging.

Look, if you’re an Android dev or just a power user who likes to tweak stuff, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – it requires root access so that could be a dealbreaker for some. But overall it does the job and I’d say it’s worth checking out.
