Reviews for Prime Video

Good show selection, but terrible controls in the app. There doesn't seem to be a way to simply skip to the next episode. There's also no way from within an episode to go to the show's main page to view all episodes. Additionally, the "continue watching" section never accurately tracks which episode I stopped watching, not where I. the episode I left off.

it was okay until they made ads the norm unless you pay an arm and a leg. even the ads are not too bad to deal with. but OH BOY. they literally got rid of full screen. I have purchased movies I've watched before and ALWAYS put on full screen. it doesnt have the option anymore. also the x-ray details are missing. how did you guys mess up this bad? terrible, terrible change for no comprehensive reason. and yes, I watched these movies regularly so I am positive about full screen just vanishing.

My biggest problem with this app is the terrible screen aspect ratios of some movies/shows, with no option to zoom in or out. Tried watching a movie the other day, and the aspect ratio was about the same size of the screen of a small ipod touch. Almost every other streaming app has the option to change this, so why not this one? And that goes without pointing out the ridiculous amount of ads that are in very short episodes. I'll get almost five 1 minute-long ads for a 20min. episode of a show.

Love it has all the movies i seen as i was growing up. Has really good series. Just read that in late January of 2024 price is going up 3 dollars a month for no ads. Not really happy about that. Was paying the extra 2.99 for add free but you still get 1 add in the beginning, you are able to skip it but what's the point if you are paying the extra you shouldn't get any adds period!!!!

Won't run in DeX mode.. You still have to buy any good movies. The prime videos are all terrible. I don't recommend it. "Ad Free" is a scam. You still have to watch ads after paying for the "Ad Free" subscription. You just watch less ads with some movies requiring more. 100% false advertisement. This is not clearly stated upon purchase and therefore is illegal.

This is an ok app. I don't like that you literally have to buy all your movies for like $15-$25 each and that there is only a certain amount of movies that are free. I don't like the ads, obviously. But I am happy that there is only a 2-3 in each thing you watch to your not constantly watching ads every 3 minutes of your show. So it aint all that bad!

I fell asleep during a movie and I get that the movie doesn't know that. So I'm okay with restarting the movie and fast forwarding to where I left off. But wait... you gotta watch 3 mins of ads before you can do that. Sure, okay. So I watch 3 mins of ads, then I fast forward to where I left off and it happens to be past an ad marker. Well guess what, I get to watch 3 more mins of ads. Hulu surprisingly has that figured out. Amazon? Nah, just "easier" to make you watch more ads.

Long time subscriber. Over 6 years to see a series only offered here. Even though you pay a premium for commercial free service you still see ads. Whether it's for an additional service or a prime video exclusive. Frequently freezes when it's opened and won't even allow you to select a show. You attempt to scroll down to see your "continue watching" list and it closes before you can even get there. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling, and am still seeing the same issues.

Love the concept, but wish there some were extra features. For example, the "continue watching" either keeps shows I'm finished with or doesn't always register those I've started, especially if they are from another app within this one. Also, I wish we could see the actor list from the app, as you can do with the television. Finally, when I rewind and hit play (from the television), it automatically pauses, which no other app does so I forget.

Good but annoying flaws. I like the content, but videos seem to lack contrast on this platform as since they're so dark it's often difficult to see what's going on. Further, 'skip intro' and 'autoplay next' do not work on downloaded content, and finally, despite paying for no ads, I often still get ads and have to click 'skip' or such to get to the video. I'm looking into switching to a different provider.

Got the app even tho I got netflix cause it seems everything I want to watch is only on Amazon prime. Amazon advertises "1000s of free movies" but of course all the shows/ movies I want to watch I have to pay to watch??!! Funny they don't mention that in advertisements. But then the free ones, by the 2nd or 3rd season into a series your interested in. You find out got canceled by Netflix. Not for me. I don't order enough on amzn to subscribe. It's all just a money grabbing scheme.

The worst app ever to watch NFL on. It is painful. The inability to fast forward in a smooth fashion is so frustrating. Unless it's a matchup I really want to watch I won't bother because it's so annoying. Almost a year later in this app is the worst. I hate watching football on the Amazon prime app. It starts randomly in places in the game. If you're trying to start from the beginning, it'll drop you right in live TV. Nice job ruining football!

While there's a decent amount of movies to watch there are wayyyy too many ads. Even paying for a prime membership you'd think the ads were minimal but they're not. If you try to forward a movie there's another 4 minutes of ads. If you try to rewatch a movie there's another 4 minutes of ads. You will be watching minutes of ads the entire time. Not even 30 seconds, straight minutes of ads. Prime is only good for deliveries, don't waste your time on videos

The addition of unskippable ads in a paid service will always be a point of contention for me. They're not offering an "upgrade" to ad-free. They simply downgraded what you're paying for and are now asking for you to pay more for what you had previously. Even after upgrading to the ad-free plan guess what? They still give you ads. They're just able to be skipped now.

Too many ads. Watching a 1 hour show, there's 6 - 8 minutes of ads, maybe more, any more I usually look at another device during the ads. Also, if the phone falls asleep during the movie (or maybe the movie is paused while I take a call), when you resume the movie, many times the app restarts it back at the beginning - complete with some ads of course...

good library, TERRIBLE player. you removed the next episode from the list of options from the drop-down. the auto play cannot be turned off so it will just play videos forever, even if they're not on your playlist. it skips videos so I'll be watching episode 3 and it'll skip to episode 5. can no longer skip intro unless you catch that popup within 0.1 second. the old player was just fine. who changed it, a high schooler learning how to code? it's terrible. listen to the comments, FIX IT

There's a couple things that annoy me about this app. 1- When you watch a show, there's a lot more ads than if you were to watch a movie. Ads average around 15secs to was 2mins now they are over 4mins. 2- There's way too many add-ons (ex. Paramount+, Max, and AMC) and they should all be included in the price we pay for this service. Instead of a price for prime and a price for every other add-on separately. There should be different price packages and that we could add what we'd like.

I honestly can't with these ads anymore. If I miss something a character says on a scene after an ad I can't rewind without having to watch another 2 minute ad. If I accidentally skip ahead of an ad not only am I forced to watch it for 2 minutes but then have to watch another 2 minute ad when I try to go back. It's absolutely horrendous. There's no point in watching shows on here anymore.

There's only some good shows, most of which are an extra charge because they aren't actually on this platform (so you're getting half-catfished). The ads are the final straw for me though. How greedy can you be?!? Amazon has so much money, but it will apparently never be enough. I'm already paying to use this streaming service at all, so there's no way I'm gonna pay even more just so I won't have ads. Also the ads are incredibly long, and incredibly often. This is ridiculous

I honestly used to love prime video BEFORE all of the ads became a part of it. The selection was also better. Now, if you don't want ads, you have to pay extra, and to see good films, you also have to subscribe to another channel. Prime video is enough as it is, but adding that extra fee to not sit through two minutes of ads is just reaching. Do better.
