So here's my honest take on Pronto - San Diego. I've tested a bunch of transit apps and this one's pretty solid. The automatic fare thing is super convenient and I like how it works with both MTS and NCTD. The trip planning and real-time info are also really helpful. Only downside is the ads can get old, but it's free so I get it. Overall, Pronto makes getting around San Diego a breeze.

Been using Pronto – San Diego for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that makes buying transit passes in San Diego super easy. You just add money to your Pronto account and then scan your phone at the validators whenever you ride the trolley or buses. Pretty solid if you take public transportation a lot. And

Here’s what you do: there’s a pay-as-you-go function that automatically charges the right fare every time you scan. It’s got real-time arrival info, trip planning, and a bunch of other features to help you get around the city. Took me a while to figure out the saved stations thing but that’s been really useful.

Look, if you live in or visit San Diego a lot, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job of making transit easy. Worth checking out for sure.
