I like the program features and value. However, it can't use full potential of lens MP for Samsung S25 Ultra. Cannot output in true RAW (dng) as professional RAW editing programs refuse to acknowledge it conserdering it to be JPEG-XL. So for professional use on at least this phone model, it under serves the need on a professional level.
Reviews for ProShot
← Back to ProShotThis is by far my favorite camera app. It's got a small learning curve, but spending an hour looking through the settings and testing it out helped a lot in finding the optimal settings for my preference.
This app is a significant improvement on the stock camera for photos, but for video it's night and day difference. It allows shooting in way higher quality, manual setup of ISO, and most importantly, gives you manual focus with peak highlighting. It can squeeze out decent footage even out of a cheap phone's horrible camera, and it's a joy to have all these controls available (and making actual difference). There are some bugs but the customer support was great and very helpful.
App only shows 10 and 13mp for main camera while 13 is only the ultra wide. The 64mp wide is not shown at all. Lens mode is grey out. Images are poor on file size even if I play with jpeg compression. To be honest these problems didn't show up in the evaluator app . Not expecting that my Moto edge 30 will be top notch, but at least expecting the app to be better than the stock app which btw have all the manual modes etc. Anyway , the app itself is worth the cost but is not the best
One of, if not the best camera apps on the play store, and I hardly give reviews at all. Absolutely worth the one-time purchase. I do see that it's only detecting the main and selfie camera of my 8849 Tank 3, and doesn't pick up the wide/tele/infrared lenses, so I would absolutely give it 6 stars if an update unlocked these (and perhaps an option to force rescan hardware while retaining the settings)!
Seems great, different options and controls. really excited to try to the different options like light painting. FIXED it won't allow for different lenses. Using Sony Xperia 1 V. evaluator showed all the lenses and check it off. When selecting an different lens, it flickers and makes a ticking noise but won't switch. Everything works fine with the normal camera app.
Pro Shot is the best camera app, I have used it for years. I bought it for another phone to use with external Bluetooth mic DJI mic 2 pro. The app settings on the drive dial in video mode show it is using this mic, but it is actually using the built-in phone mic so it's useless to me. The developer responded quickly anyway - such a shame, I really do want to use Pro Shot!
so far my experience has been good.. but there is no Timer function I can spot.. and no documentation. It would be lovely to set a 10 second timer, go where you need to be and have it take the shot 5 seconds from when you pressed the shutter. maybe I'm just missing it.. but nothing is labelled
Are you kidding me? Who would want to use any other camera app? I would rate it at 5 Stars, but I have every confidence that the creators can add more options. Now, about the question asking whether the app offers storage for no charge. I put NOT SURE because it is an app that is purchased only (i.e., there is not really a free version)... however, it's definitely worth the price! I am a firm believer in improving ourselves, apps included. Still, I love the ProShot app as it is! Thank you!
This is the best camera app for taking videos because it gives you the most control over frame rates etc. However they seem to be picky over your hardware and software. Runs on a Pixel 7 but they wont let you download from Play Store with non-stock Android e.g. GrapheneOS. Would be five stars if they fixed this restriction - it is the same phone after all (and all other apps work). Using OpenCamera until they patch this.
Looking into this app as the OnePlus stock camera app is extremely laggy when exiting. ProShot seems good so far but on my OnePlus 11 it doesn't seem to switch to the 0.6x camera, and likewise the 2x camera doesn't seem to work. It has a button for the 0.6x but when I press it the image blurs for a second then returns to the 1x view it was already on. EDIT: legacy mode let me use 0.6x, but not the 2x from what I can tell. Manual modes didn't work.
Needed a new video recording app. Demo worked well on my phone so I bought Proshot. I like 24 fps so I set my video to that - and the viewfinder froze when I hit record. Couldn't see what was recording. Developer got back to me in a day, helped me troubleshoot, figured out 30 and 60 fps will work. Not exactly what I want, but controls are good. Demo app should let you take a, few photos.
Evaluator worked. But I wanted to do a time-lapse of the comet with cloud motion and environment. It said it could do up to 50 second exposure. I didn't need that but the native app can do 30 second. I needed about 10 second exposure. It kept erroring at 10 but worked at 8 second. I got 40 frames and now it won't do long exposure at all. Since it took more than two hours to discover the failure I'm now out the cost of a mostly useless app even as I'm discovering more failures.
App seems to work OK as a camera. However, it refuses to save photos to my SD card, instead only saving to the internal phone memory. It's really a pain in the backside to have to constantly find the new images and move them to the SD card manually. The app provides an unhelpful error message then doesn't save the photo unless I select internal storage.(Fixed!)
This app is odd. I used it a few months ago on a LG k30 ( basic mid tier Android ) and it worked great, however now I am using the LG v35 thinQ ( towards the upper end of premium tier Android's ) and once I open the app the sensor is rotated 90° as stated by the app, I can't seem to get it into the correct orientation, I would love to know how to fix this as to continue my search to see if a app can make a already perfect photo the phone will take and make it better.
I think this is an excellent app with great potential! With my limited time of use so far, on Pixel 7 pro, I noticed that the image was not saved correctly. It seems like the saved image is in preview quality, but the file size is large (normal). When you zoom in, no details. There must be something wrong with saving. Updates: the issue mentioned earlier I believe was due to the app used the ultra wide camera for other focal lengths by using digital zoom (without actually switching the camera)
Pretty decent. When it works... Bought this for my pixel 5a so could have control of my shutter speed. Which, it does - along with a bunch of other cool features. But unfortunately as I'm using it, the app will become slow and unstable to the point where eventually just becomes unresponsive and locks on a black screen. It also will have trouble switching between the 1x and .6x lenses. And annoyingly will often not retain user settings if the phone locks...
Definitely not an expert at photography, but I can say that this is a good alternative to expensive cameras! Although, I would suggest adding some sort of guide feature to the app for those like me who sometimes forget certain aspects of things. (EDIT: Now that I know about the guide actually in the app, I'll definitely be sure to use it!)
The app does as it says and the UI is pretty good, although sometimes confusing. Main reason for 3 stars is that zooming has turned out to be extremely frustrating. I'm not sure why but pinching with one hand to zoom in and out it will simply not work, and even if I use both hands, it's hit and miss. I don't have these issues with the core Pixel Cam app. I purchased this trying to get a better option; in some ways it is, but the frustration I feel every time I use it isn't worth the price
I'm experiencing a problem with my Z Fold 5 using this photo app. When I open the camera, the screen displays a lot of wavy pixels, making it difficult to take photos. Strangely, the images turn out perfect once they are clicked and saved. I'm puzzled as to why the camera's screen display isn't clear, even though the final images are fine. Initially, I suspected there might be an issue with my phone, but I tried a different camera app and the screen appeared just fine.
