Reviews for Publix

This app is good...when you can get it to work. It constantly is logging me out, erasing my profile info or just overall malfunctioning. It consistently defaults that im at a store I haven't been to in 5+ years despite me changing it EVERY TIME in in the app. And the pay through the app feature errors out often so you cant scan the qr code. You end up having to force close it, force stop the app, clear the cache & start over. If they could work out the bugs and issues, this app could be good!

App used to work perfectly...... I always used app to pay with no problems. For the last month app will not keep me logged in. When I do manage to log in it will not let me pay. My payment method does not show up. If I Uninstall and reinstall it might let me log in one time. Then when I go to pay it gives me error. This is beyond frustrating. Samsung Galaxy phone.

Update: I last reviewed this app 10 years ago! At that time, the app kept stalling on my Note 3 & wouldn't let me log in to my Publix account, so I uninstalled it. I had forgotten that long-ago review and am happy to report that the app has been working fine for a long time. I check it every Wednesday night to see the BOGOs for the next day. It's also easy to make online orders and schedule a time to pick them up. I have no trouble staying signed in to my account and clipping digital coupons.

This app deserves negative stars. It doesn't matter how recently I was logged into the app as soon as I get to the checkout the app has logged me out. Then, instead of making it easy and quick to log back in, it's insanely difficult to get a login code. Even the employees recommend not putting money on this app. If you want to use this app to pay, expect to take 20+ minutes at customer service.

The app is still lagging. Sometimes it won't even open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and still having delay issues. last week, it wouldn't take my coupons at the store and I had to get a manager to enter them manually. I'm getting frustrated with this app as I want to know what's on bogo before I go! EDIT: 5/21/25 I have followed your recommendations multiple times. STILL LAGGING UP ON OPENING. IF IT EVEN OPENS!! 6/26/25 App still lagging. sometimes won't even open😡

For some reason, they removed any usefulness from the shopping list. Nothing there shows if it's on sale anymore. You can't get to the full product details for items added from the weekly ad anymore. So you can't see which flavors they carry or verify which of the brand's items are on sale and which aren't. This used to be a super-useful app, but this removal makes it almost useless for me.

Updated my app recently. I use it every single day as a professional shopper. I pre-order deli meats and subs multiple times a day. With the update the app constantly logs me out several times a day. It does not allow to save your password nor does it allow for Samsung auto save on passwords. It also doesn't tell you that you're logged out and when you go to check out it makes you fill in your information and you have to actually log out and log back in manually again. This is ridiculous.

I love the Publix app. You can do your shopping on the app and then it creates a shopping list that guides you through the store saving you so much time. The stores are convenient to me, the selection of products are fantastic, the stores are super clean, the employees are friendly and helpful, and it's such a great shopping experience. All of this comes at a hefty price that's hard for retirees to afford which is why I deducted 1 star.

Way too easy to accidentally order food through their catering service. Like you don't have to enter your credit card number or anything, and I for sure didn't want to do that until I knew if any of the sales were affecting the price totals. They have a cancel/undo order button but it was still pretty strange experience.

Needs bug fixes ASAP. Publix pay now randomly stops working. When I enter my pin it says it's wrong even though it's right and used to work every time. Will work one day, won't the next. App also decides to log out and won't let me log back in with my correct password. so can't access my shopping list or pay with it sometimes. Unreliability makes it impossible to shop with. Please fix.

Garbage and glitchy. Added a card to submit the order. After clicking save, it wiped the information, and gave no confirmation. I backed out, and it put me back on the submit order screen. Next thing, I get a notification from the bank regarding the transaction. Tried to find the order in the app, and absolutely nothing would load. Closed and restarted, and reopened, and it showed me the order had gone through. Please fix things like this.

Not great for in-store shopping. Unlike my other grocery store apps, it doesn't scan for prices in the store. I would also like to scan my store ID when checking out, like other store apps, instead of having to type in my phone number. The app might be good for people who order online, but other than looking at the weekly ad, it isn't useful to me.

I absolutely love the Publix app. BOGO is very much needed in this economy. It saves the cost of buying groceries on a monthly basis in half, especially if you are not working full-time. The pantry is stocked with 2 of the same items, and it helps because you don't have to buy that item again! Clipping digital coupons is a great way to save as well because once it is clipped, you can create your digital shopping list, and it is there when you are ready to buy that sales item.

Nice app. I like the fact that the Publix app conveniently tells me where an item is in the store making it easier for me to find items. I like how it is organized and I can easily make my list before going shopping. I can also easily shop different store locations too! The one thing I would add is the price of the items should also be included. it's some to hard to budget without that information.

I'm very happy with the app. but I do get confused on current sales, I need the dates to be bigger and more obvious. I'll go to the store to buy things I think are on sale, but it's for the next week, or not showing when I scan to match sales on my phone. so I leave without the things I wanted to get. I've left the store frustrated because of it. other than that, publix is great.

To get the info I need is great, however, for billing there's a huge room for improvement. Case in point: there's two instance that they charge me twice due a glitch in the checkout process in the app. Needless to say, I'm stopping to pay in advance for my orders, which is very inconvenient. Also, I remember when the app store your bank card for future transactions, now it doesn't work anymore, even when they offer a check mark to do so. Tldr, app is not reliable to complete payments.

It's ridiculous that they don't show product prices. That should be basic for a store app! Now, the last couple of weeks, it gives me error message "Sale items not confirmed. Some items you selected from your previous store's weekly ad may not be on sale at your new location." I haven't changed locations!! Publix is overpriced and over-hyped.

It's ridiculous that Publix can't even keep this app current so that it actually works with Android phones running the current version of Android (Pixel 7 Android 15). I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app at least 5 times. I can't even get it to open beyond the 2nd splash page with the "P" and a circle of dots around it. On the last install today, I clicked on the link to log in with my phone # and it couldn't get past that and wouldn't accept my phone #. Worst app on my phone.

App when it works is pretty good, but it takes forever to load (shows splash screen). Not great when I'm trying to check out and want to pay with the app. I end up just paying with my credit card as normal. Besides that I liked the list making feature and how it separates everything by aisle, it makes shopping easier and quicker. Easier to see what could be in stock too. But please fix the splash screen issue because otherwise there's no point in using it.

This app is too over engineered for absolutely no reason. Example: you can't just find a product to get a price; you have to search, filter and have the exact spelling of a product to get the price. But only if it's in the correct main category. That is beyond ridiculous and the opposite of user friendly. If this app is meant to drive away business, it is doing a great job. I don't know of any other app that is this frustrating to use. 👎
