Reviews for Pulse SMS (Phone/Tablet/Web)

Corrie Sherman

Used to be the best text messaging app on the market until it stopped sending pics about a month ago. Messaged support and was told to check back in a couple days and look for an update. Almost 2 weeks later, there's been an update, but it didn't fix the problem. Went back to my ticket to ask, but now it's been closed. I'd love to keep using Pulse, but with such a basic feature being broken for so long, I simply can't endorse it anymore.

I've used this app for several years now. It used to work amazing and I preferred it over any other messaging platform. Now it just seems to be full of bugs and issues. The last year has been frustrating with missing messages, notifications not appearing, issues sending media, and lots of other annoying issues. My guess is this happened all when Maple Media acquired the app and didn't maintain it. Time to find a new messaging app :(

Fabtastic app! I initially got it for the delayed texting but have decided to keep it because of its superb windows program that allows for texting from your computer. "Messages" by Microsoft allows for the same but it's unreliable and delayed. Pulse is instantaneous and reliable. All around just a great SMS app. Update: went down to 2 stars and uninstalled due to issues with sending gifs. Just too many problems. Usually it sends them but probably 20% of the time it doesn't, and it never sends scheduled gifs to groups. I really liked this app and if they fixed the gifs then I would probably come back.

I've been using the app for 6 years and have loved it. Recently, when texting from a PC, some texts *appear* to have been sent, but the phone app doesn't show them at all; they are just "silently" not sent. I unsuccessfully tried all the troubleshooting options including resyncing the device and my account. Support tells me that (supposedly) no one else complained. The app's lost my confidence since the failures are sporadic and silent. Please mark this review HELPFUL if you've experienced this.

The app is very good. I've been using it for some years now. I especially like the forward and back arrows where you can position the cursor wherever you want easily. Also like that you can slide your fingers to spell out the words. And it does pretty good at knowing the correct word. When you talk into the microphone it's kind of finicky as to where it puts the phrases. Also some times it cuts off the last word from the prior sentence for some reason. Other than that everything else works good.

I used the free app for years and finally bought the full app when I was offered a half-price ad. That's when my problems started. Calls get messed up. Sometimes, my phone will ring, but no app appears to allow me to answer. And sometimes, some of those calls aren't even in the call log. Next some of my texts come in in duplicate. Third, I am now getting the "Home uI" error with screen lockup. I'm about ready to uninstall and demand my $$$ back.

Been using Pulse for years with good results. Updated it recently and now it won't sync with my web browser. When I click on a message, it just spins and won't load the message. Tried resyncing messages, but that didn't solve it. Tried reinstalling app. That didn't solve it either. Hope they get it sorted and push an update out quick. I've liked the product, but for now I've been forced to switch to Google Messages, so I can get stuff done in the meantime.

Update: Very fast response to fix issue. Returning favorable review. Will update if anything changes. Old: Used to have a five star review. Changing after I started receiving ads even though I've had premium for years. I ignored the first one in case it was a fluke, but I've seen them repeatedly for a week or so. Unacceptable. Features have stagnated ever since the app was sold. Not happy at all. I would look elsewhere unless they change course.

I've been using pulse for about a year and a 1/2. I've been a paid user for almost as long, and I find the service to be absolutely essential. The ability to send links as quick links, the ability to save and send pre-written texts, the incredible degrees of customization and, of course, the ability to text on other devices make the service irreplaceable. I highly reccomend it.

A lot of features to like, but still a few bugs to work out. When composing a text, if you get interrupted by a phone call, email, or other notification, the content of the draft disappears...which is highly annoying. With the stock messages program on Android, the drafts automatically get saved (and indefinitely), but not on Pulse. I often start writing a text and come back to it later to finish, and if the app doesn't save drafts, it may not work for me.
