I've been looking for a mint replacement ever since the app was discontinued. Quicken connects with my accounts and shows recent transactions and current balances. However, one feature that I haven't been able to find is a way to list upcoming credit card bills. Since the amount due is different every month, quicken is not really helpful here. It seems to only be able to track bills with the same amount due. I would just like to be able to see all my bills with amount and due date on one page
Reviews for Quicken Simplifi: Budget Smart
This app is great, having switched from Mint. However, there are so many bugs/issues with adding/syncing accounts. I have reached out to support and they still haven't fixed it. Then they close the ticket even though it's not resolved. I've had issues with TreasuryDirect.gov doesn't work, some other accounts that were down for a while, and now my Betterment account cannot reconnect. I haven't bothered submitting a ticket because you go back and forth with customer service that it gets maddening.
This app is so buggy, I can barely stand using it anymore. I've had issues with rules to rename retailers, categorize purchases, only half the things count that should in my goals (despite being named and categorized correctly), my account balances and transactions are never up to date and my savings is consistently $5 off for who knows why. If it had been more expensive, I'd request a refund, but instead I'll just take the loss and be sure not to resubscribe. Strongly do not recommend.
I had no reason to think this app wouldn't support federal student loan accounts, being that Quicken is such an important accounting tool, but it does not. It also does not have a monthly plan, so I had to pay an annual fee to find out that it's basically half functional for me. Highly disappointed, especially because Plaid is integrated with student loans. Edit to add: app won't stay synced with accounts, and also suddenly dropped my 403b. Uninstalling.
I've been using Simplifi, happily, for over a year now. I've used various apps installed on desktop, and those fully online, for well around 20 years. This current online only version, is the Best financial tracking, reporting, and ease of use app I've ever used. I connect three banks, three credit cards, without a hitch. Any financial application requires some learning curve, but for me, Simplifi has been, quick to setup and add accounts, quick to setup categories to my liking. Highly recommend
😀 Beware! You may run into missing transactions without knowing. Had over 34 missing transactions from a major CC. Contacted support and their response was "We suggest resetting the connection and manually entering missing transactions". I mention how if a connection isn't pulling data why an alert isn't sent. Response "Therefore as a solution, I suggested resetting the connection..." For a software that users rely on accurate aggregated data for planning purposes to be silently missing data...
The app has not worked at all since paying for the subscription a month ago. I reached out to both Google Play and the developer for assistance and Google Play says they can't help, that it's the developer's issue. I reached out to the developer twice and have yet to get a response to my email with supporting info and screenshots of the technical issue I am having. Very disappointing....no response, no customer support, no use of an app that I paid to use for a whole year
The worst budgeting app out there. It could've been the best. Way too many bugs. My bank had connectivity issues so I made it into a manual bank and decided just to put transactions in manually. That is when I noticed that their software has bugs. I would put transactions in and then the balance would be incorrect (ex. say my balance should be $1000 it would say my balance is negative $100) even when all the transactions are correct. I checked them all everything matched my statements.
There's a lot quicken does well. But it has no good or intuitive option for budgeting. There's no way to do envelope budgeting at all basically. Budgeting is an essential feature for a personal finance app. I also couldn't sync any of my investment accounts or my student loans due to quicken not working with the servicers. Not very helpful!
It stopped connecting to my bank after 3 months, couldnt get it to reconnect. Support gave me a forum to monitor for updates in APRIL. It's now September, and there is still no resolution or even an ETA on a resolution. They won't even process a refund since I purchased it through Google Play. Their support team is nice enough, but that does nothing for the technological issues that the developers seem uninterested in fixing. Really sucks because the interface in the app is actually very nice.
