Great tool for studying any time you have a few minutes free. Downside: flash cards are limited. Quizlet will not allow you to put a picture in the term section and only one picture in the definition section. Hate that. I want to be able to fully customize my flash cards, but you can't with Quizlet. And editing your flash cards from a mobile device or tablet is extremely frustrating. If you have may lines of text on a card, it won't all be visible in edit mode and trying to scroll is a pain.
Reviews for Quizlet: More than Flashcards
← Back to Quizlet: More than FlashcardsThe "Learn" and "Practice Tests" are locked behind a paywall. Quizlet doesn't give the option for one free use a day. Once you hit the free limit (five rounds), you're forced to pay to use them again. There is no opportunity to watch an ad for access if they want to monetize the app. It doesn't make sense when half of their user base is most likely those without disposable income.
There are always 3 ads per page you're on, which is fine! What's not fine is only letting students use one practice test and then saying they need to pay! We're broke! $7.99 a month just isn't there for us. I thought this was a free tool but it's just a money gauger. Why have so many ads in app and still ask for payment? I wasted time making flashcards that I can't properly use now. This app sucks.
Wish this app had been around when I was in high school! Both myself and my 13 year old daughter use this app and the desktop site for studying. Invaluable, time-saving, and worth every penny. So easy to type in notes and get clear, easy-to-use flashcards and practice quizzes. Similar to change the order or phrasing; to fix a or rearrange information if I need to.
I needed something to be able to practice for my CompTIA exam. Some of the terms I needed to remember were number based and I'm lousy with remembering numbers. I was able to setup a list with 20 protocols and their port numbers and the app just setup a randomized multiple choice test that I could do over and over again until I was answering every question correctly. I would have used this months ago if I knew about it. The best part is it has a website that you can log into, create lists from there instead of your cell phone, and it can be accessible from any portable device that has access to the app.
it's really good for all types of classes! I personally use it for my AP classes and honestly I would not have passed without it. The app isn't necessary but it does make it convenient and easily accessible which always helped me when I didn't have motivation to actually sit down at my desk with my computer, and books, and notebooks, and all that stuff. Instead I could just lay in my bed and do flashcards, it rocks!!
Was the only app that helped me through high school and college, as a lower class student. I don't have the means to pay multiple subscriptions, along with my tuition. Quizlet was the only website that I felt really just wanted to help those in need. With the pay wall, I can't even use the app. Shame on you quizlet, MILLIONS of lower class students will no longer be able to use your platform, and struggle because of it.
I'm extremely disappointed to say that quizlet is not longer useful to me. For years I used quizlet to make studying easier and more effective, and it worked. This study tool was was a life saver. After a year break I opened up quizlet again to quickly find that it's nothing more than a greedy scam now. 1 free practice test and 5 free rounds to learn material. That's all you get from the most effective tools. I'd never recommend Quizlet to anyone.
You get absolutely bombarded by advertisements and alerts, and the interface for making flashcards is a little clunky once your list gets large (say, >100 items). Hard to delete items or check for duplicates. But, it's a free app, these things are somewhat expected. Update: I have now paid for the premium app and am still getting requests to rate this app, despite having already left a review. However, the desktop version solves some of the problems of the mobile app. So, still 3 stars.
It's very useful, but I really, really wish you could check off words that you know and don't want to pop up anymore. You can favorite certain terms, but often that's a much more cumbersome way to go about things because you have to reassess them constantly, whereas if you could check off words as you're sure you've got them, it'd be infinitely more convenient.
It's a great way to make your own flash cards , study them, or discover other people's flash cards for exams or for self learning. I find it easier to create personalized flash cards on a pc , then study them on my phone, and have the portability to retrieve them from anywhere. The pro (paid) version is worth it and inexpensive. I hope they don't raise the price.
The free part is ok, but you can only test one time using it. I just don't want to pay for an app when I could write it out on paper for free. But it has some other free features that are nice. Oh...the ai is silly. I played it but it kept saying I did well when I didn't and did poorly when I was correct. It looks for key words that are too specific; 'saving' vs 'removing' from harms way or stuff like that.
The study guide is very good and useful for my class work. I would give it 5 stars, but there were a few cons with the app (via the phone app). For starters, in the flash card creations, when inputing the term, it's takes a bit of a delay to tap the definition in. The second thing is the testing session, it only allows one test. Otherwise, you have to pay a monthly subscription. I used the app 7 years ago and there was no monthly subscription for practice test. please fix.
Overall, Quizlet is an amazing free study tool. Although, I have problems with the app. The app is a downgrade from the website. I mainly have problems with the flashcards. I find it annoying how I have to swipe away cards when zoomed in. Especially when I have big sets containing around 150+ words. It's a huge time waster. Literally, just add a next button. What makes it even worse is I can't favorite/edit cards without zooming in on flashcards or going to the editor. Maybe add a search tool.
I've only used Quizlet for flashcards, and it's been great so far. I add new cards to the pack on the web version then use the app to review the vocabulary. I do wish it had a better and easier interface for adding new cards; the web version is a little clunky for that. I love that the app has an option to hear the word, but I've noticed the stress is wrong in a few cases, so I just started including the stress when I create the cards.
Just an amazing app bringing old school flash cards to your phone or device. This gives me the option to study anywhere and everywhere without having to carry a brick of flashcards with me wherever I go. I'm in nursing school, so the course is fast and intense. I went to a wedding the day before and exam. Sure enough, every second of down time I was on Quizlet. Not only is the flashcard option amazing, so are the other options. The "learn" and "test" options are perfect. (No more characters left
such an AMAZING studying app. I never study! I had such a bad habit of procrastinating studying until the last minute or just not do it at all and feeling comfortable with mediocre marks. This app had me study for HOURS on end. I have finals coming up so studying is a big part of my life right now. I searched up my curriculum and found good flash cards. Ended up studying for 3 hours non-stop! I absolutely recommend this app! it's so good
I'm using Quizlet to learn Farsi. I love the games it has to help you learn (automatically created from your flashcards), and you can create custom flashcards. The learning algorithm works pretty well, and the tests are great. You can choose between matching, true false, and written, and also if I want to answer in Farsi only, English only, or both. Finally I create sets of flashcards and put them into folders. You can test all within a folder, or individually. A great study tool.
It's a flashcard app. Seems to work OK, nothing about makes me want to give them money. Would be nice if it were less gamified and if they quit pushing so many irrelevant flashcard sets on me. Came back later and edited down to one star because the reset password process has been a nightmare and tech support has been literally no help. For five days they've been cutting and pasting the exact same email back to me. For five days the process hasn't worked.
This app is great for learning, it helped me memorize my history notes under like 2 hours. But, I thought the test option is free all the way, but then, when I NEED to use it one more time to see how much I remember, it needs subscription. Payment. In America, the payment might be a little cheap, but as a Filipino, it's very expensive. This pisses me, and not just me, but other broke students too. Why do We need to pay a dumb subscription, just to get good grades? It's handy, but NOT recommend.
