Reviews for Quora: the knowledge platform

The app is functional but buggy. Almost constantly, while answering questions, the app begins to stutter, ceases to take typed input, load added images, and forces you to back out and reenter your answer only to discover that your formatting is now gone. As is, the app is still usable but frustrating.

It’s really bad. A year ago Quora was already getting quieter day by day because of AI like ChatGPT or Gemini, but now it’s even worse. Many people have left and stopped using this app because Quora allows bots to interact and spread a lot of gambling ads, which makes us feel disturbed. Now, I prefer using Threads instead.

I have written on Quora for about eight years. I get paid a small amount for my content which I really appreciate. I didn't give it a five star rating due to troll farms are very active manipulating the algorithm and silencing organic voices. I am unable to reach anyone with the platform to get assistance with it. another issue is authors giving psychiatric advice as a professional but doing so under an alias which is illegal. this person is very abusive. M.

The Quora site and the design concept for it are great. But this is a review for the mobile app itself. When I open the app and go through the various questions? Not bad. But this app has serious loading problems. Especially when trying to post an answer or a comment to another answer. Every time I post now, depending on how long I take, the page fails to load and I worry about my post being lost. I am aware of the Drafts feature but sometimes even that doesn't update immediately all the time.

Some good nuggets in there, if you’re willing to dig through a mountain of rants.” Feels like Reddit’s distant cousin, but without the memes and with even less moderation. You’ll find everything from helpful advice to full-blown conspiracy rants, sometimes in the same thread. It’s hit-or-miss, mostly miss. Fun if you’re bored and curious, but don’t trust anything you read without checking it elsewhere. I had to turn notifications off, it kept flooding my phone with random junk I didn't ask for!

I hate this app for one main reason, it forces me to download the app in order to comment on anything. Why not do what other apps do and allow you to remain in your browser and comment. There is no reason I should have to have your app on my device. Obviously Quora has a web version. I can read it in my browser. But you force me to download it to comment! Why, to get your downland numbers up? I dispise anyone who forces or attempts to force me to do what they want.

I've accumulated quite a bit knowledge in over 20yrs on the paranormal. This app gives me the option to share the knowledge with others that want to share their thoughts and ideas on the matter. It's run professional for those that wish to teach or learn just about any subject. Love It !!!

I really like this app people answer your questions right away, and you get a whole lot of responses. Plus there's a whole bunch of other topics that you can look up. The only thing that sux is there is no download option to download pictures to your phone, you can only take screenshots. Can you please add the option to download pictures it would make this app 10 times so much better.

I've always had the ability of being able to gain more knowledge of and about this type of app. I have been doing great things like getting more reliable and higher quality groups, Committed, Forums, and Discussions than I've seen or been able to fully become a better, more intelligent person than before the app was downloaded and installed on my Samsung Galaxy s23 Android Smartphone Device free for Android on the Google Play App Store for Android.

Latest update - still getting a lot of answers stuck in "drafts" instead of being posted when I hit submit. Now annoyingly one can longer go to the profile of someone who has sent you a message, from the message itself. Spaces are just awful. Moderators get less human and less English with every update. App getting stuck in loops trying to open answers, questions etc.

KIDDING ME?? update fixed nothing! drafts don't save! frequently FREEZES if stop typing for 60 sec. uninstalled it reinstalled it same thing it's not my phone nor tablet. just spent 1 hour on something put it down for 60 seconds and froze. I was able to save in drafts but now it's NOT even in drafts though it said "successfully saved". went on Reddit and saw COUNTLESS people complaining about same thing nothing's fixed

10-10-25: SAME THING. FIX YOUR APP! 9-23-25: Same thing, app keeps closing and it's not due to an update or anything else. App keeps crashing, can't read a whole answer because it closes and won't open again. Edited 1-26-25: the same is happening and it looks like app was just updated. 3-22-25: still randomly closing, no updates shown on my playstore account.

This app is slowly circling the drain (along with its parent site). Errors frequently pop up when trying to share within the app, with no apparent updates fixing that issue. If you want to write something, leave the app to do something else, then come back, good luck picking up where you left off. Worst of all, though, is the site itself -- after depleting its moderation team, it's become a safe haven for all manner of unsavory types. I still use it, but I'm not sure how much longer.

I had a hard time finding and turning off notifications. When I had this app before I enjoyed it except the constant nagging notifications. They became overwhelming. But couldn't turn them off, so I had to turn off the app. I still get notifications every day like 4 times a day! Sometimes more!!! So I'm hoping that things are different and I can turn off the notifications!! Content is good. Just don't send notifications!!!!

Force download of app is reprehensible. I have almost stopped using Quora altogether because of this - I get the email and see something interesting, click on the link to the article, and halfway through the pop-up for the app comes up, and that's the end of it. Can't get back to where I was. Just not worth the hassle. SO ANNOYING!!!!

so upset because while i was in the middle of reading a nice big ad comes up and blocks the screen, you cant go around it or anything. you have two options to either download the app or say you already have it. either way it takes you to the play store and away from what you were reading and sometimes you can never find them again. worst thing ever!!!!!!!

I used to be able to open a thread in my email and read it. Now when I open a thread it always pops up covering the screen recommending the app, with no way to close the pop up. Basically if you want the privilege of reading anything in the email we send you every day, you have to install our app. So I installed it, leaving a review now, uninstalling and unsubscribing. I used quora occasionally to pass time, not enough that I want an app dedicated to it and shouldn't be forced to install it.

While nice to be able to see and answer so many questions, I think it's really too bad that question topics and labels can be wrong a lot of the time. Just because a question has the word "pitch" in it doesn't mean it has to do with baseball, the same with "Xbox" always referring to the first generation of the console. I felt it was better when everyone could suggest edits to get questions to the right people in the right spaces instead of just passing on recommended questions to answer

The only reason I got this app was because while reading a post via email (something I've been able to do for months with no issue) it kept giving me a pop-up for the app. I was unable to close the pop-up or go back. I had to choose out of the email, go back in and reopon which usually brought me to the website with no issues. But now when I'm on the website to read something it blocks me from being able to read anything and just covers the majority of the screen in this impossible to ignore ad for the app. So I reluctantly download the app and it ahead me if I have a profile on quora, which I do. I log on and then it tells me to set up my profile! I can't do anything else until I set up a profile, which I had already done. Now I can't find the post I was trying to read! Very frustrating!

This app rarely works. Attempting to open questions from my emailed digest usually results in "Something went wrong. We are looking into it. Please try again in a few minutes.". It's never fixed in a few minutes and if I copy the link from the email and just open in a web browser it works every time. I installed the app for dark mode support, but with this failure ratio it's best to just uninstall and use Chrome.
