App is a scam. Do not buy! Tried adding a fixed radar 2 weeks ago (how is this a useful app if radars cannot be added?) and it won't add it to the alerts or map. Email address for "support" does not work. Zero help from support. AI generated responses to complaints rather than real support person.
Reviews for Radarbot Speed Camera Detector
← Back to Radarbot Speed Camera DetectorOnly had the app for 70 miles but so far all good. Much better than Road Angel and other apps at avoiding false alarms. I'm using it on an Android Headunit and the only thing that bugs me is the huge position arrow which masks several hundred yards of road. Maybe there is a way to shrink this?
I bought the gold version of the app; it's still no good. I tried it with a trip between Bloemfontein and Pretoria. It warned me of the two fixed cameras, but left me hanging with the (at least) 3 mobile ones. I even got pulled over for speeding - the very thing I got the app for...
I have turned off all the notifications yet I still receive promotions for Gold tier even if I already have bought it. Every day... Please fix this as it is annoying as hell. Even after few months they are still not fixing this issue. I have bought a year of Gold subsription yet I get a notification every single day about discounts and push to buy Gold. If I turn notifications completely off I do not receive alerts.
Previously, when I use radarbot widget over the google maps, and the camera is detected I could see the distance to the camera on a widget, but there is no option for that any more. Also, there is no relaibility data on widget. I use PRO version.
The platform itself is good but improvements would include: - The road sign and speedo graphics being larger. - A speed only overlay to use in conjunction with built-in sat navs (like on Teslas). The biggest issues are the aggressive piercing sound of the alerts, their constant beeping as they approach cameras and repeating this at every camera in average speed zones. As the alerts interrupt music they don't need to be so aggressive and there should be a range of softer beeps and chimes.
edited: Bought the subscription for £20 per year. Worth it! The map is better than Google:Colours more clear:Lane assist is fab:Radars more accurate. Only probs: Voices and beeps are awful. please allow customisation/more options for these 🙏 Cannot upload/transfer saved places from google maps: I really don't want to lose all my saved places from google. Also please allow creation of custom folders to save places in different categories 🙏and allow me to save current location. overall fab app🤩
Limited usage so far but disappointed two local Average Speed Zones on the A16 at Burwell England are not showing. They've been there quite a while and all other navigation apps have been updated with them. I have reported them but no update has been made. Makes me feel I cannot rely on this app for its intended purpose. Update 11Oct25. just completed a 150 mile trip and two more Average Speed Zones were not picked up. TomTom Go correctly identified them though, so Radarbot is not up-to-date.
I bought it a few days ago for a year, mainly due to the positive reviews. Okay, I won't be poor now because of that. The route suggestions are so crazy stupid. I tested it in different places, two kilometres from the destination, and it proposes a crazy route of about 30 kilometres. It happened not only once. Deleted this piece of 💩
it is wery useful and it is save me on my trips, the only thing that is annoying is starting the app, most of the time I'm already driving and my phone is in the case on a windshield, so when I start to drive I have to push couple of things to start a Radarbot while I driving, I sugest that the Premium package add should be short vocally and a button always be in the front on screen, and most of us integrate the phone with the Bluetooth and the car, so U can make mabe short sound add's
Purchased the paid version of this app. Completely useless. Google Maps picks up more cameras than this app. There are fixed cameras that have been on the motorway for years thing doesn't pick up. I would day motorway wise it picks up 40% of cameras at best and that's being generous. In and around towns its better but I still find cameras is doesn't pick up. For something thats 1 and only job is to pick up static cameras it useless!!
It's the best app of this nature. with premium it starts as soon as the phone connects to the car, with no adds. However it isn't perfect, it's slow to update temporary speed changes. Like average speed cameras, then I have it beeping at me because it thinks there's an average speed section for 20 miles. They need to make it easier to provide feedback on speed limits. Something like a save for later function. As right now, I need to enter text. Who can do that while driving? It still needs work.
This has been an excellent program. It auto updates all photo radars. My only complaint is that when I try to enter info on a newly installed photo camera at an intersection I frequently receive an error message. Or if I've entered info on new camera after a couple days Radarbot dumps the alert. Nothing is perfect, but since there's no way to communicate with the Radarbot Customer Service department, I'm not convinced they care.
What I do not like in this application, it signals about the cameras, which is not on way you go, but around your car, in some radius. It could be on cross street, for example, and you have to take a guess, where the camera actually located. I do not want to look at the map, most of the time, I just want to hear audio notifications and I want this notifications warn me on the way I go, not about entire neighborhood.
Your app is great and truly helpful—I’ve found it invaluable when traveling. I think many people use Radarbot only when taking trips outside their usual routes for a few days or weeks. In those cases, a monthly subscription might feel unnecessary. Offering shorter plans, like 1-day, 3-day, 5-day, or weekly options, could make the app even more appealing and encourage more people to subscribe.
I guess it's doable but needs more work put into it. I paid for the premium on the first day thinking w/ that package, you'd be able to incorporate/sync your radar detector into the app but i was WRONG. Obviously you'll need an actual detector and a good one at that. The app alone won't work. If the app had Bluetooth capabilities to adjust the detector settings and whatnot at your fingertips and you were able to sync it, with all the apps features, it would def be better than Escort's app.
After using it and also getting the premium package, it did have quite a few features. The map is better detailed than something like Waze, however, Waze gives you more information about potential police sightings. I found that the speed limit and actual speed being driven is more visible than it is on something like Waze. The only thing that concerns me is because of low usage. I'm not so sure that the accuracy is as good with speed cameras and other sightings as something like Waze.
It's been generally a good experience. It's last year when I used it and this year it seems to catch all the radars. I know I didn't get any tickets last year. However, when I first purchased the ad free membership, the app went a little weird and showed no streets, , didn't know where it was, and should speed limits that were well out of range with reality. I rebooted and things work better. All I can say is I hope I didn't get a ticket during the time it wasn't working right
overpriced. sure as he'll doesn't warrant a subscription. why do these companies think they can take free data slap it in an app and try to reach into our wallets until we die? this app should cost no more than $5 for a permanent license. there's nothing special about it, except for the cash grab app upgrades that make you think you missing out on a great deal if you dont subscribe right away. bs
I like the way Radarbot integrates with, in my case Google Maps, with a moveable widget for speed and notifications. Also works well with Driving Mode as long as you add it to the 'approved' list. Overall, excellent. My only suggestion so far would be to use a percentage over speed limit warning rather a fixed lower limit of 5mph. Exact is fine though. Here in the UK 5mph over a 30 mph limit will likely trigger a fine. I would prefer a percentage instead. Not worth dropping a star for though!
