This app keeps opening Shopee whenever I make calls. Very annoying and spammy. Also many scammers use this app. Pictures sent via Viber are compressed to hell and back and there's no option to send it at a higher quality. Calling and Ringing status is also confusing for older users.. it needs to be communicated clearer. Ads are inserted in between the message list making the app more cluttered than it needs to be. Scrolling between messages sent in the same week is more cumbersome.
Reviews for Rakuten Viber Messenger
The app isn't useless, but there seems to be a bug in it that causes only 1 of my contacts, to receive any message I send, in 2 separate Viber chats...and when he responds, I get his messages in duplicate in a single chat. It doesn't happen if I message any of my other contacts using Viber, but you can imagine just how annoying conversations can be when every message is being sent in duplicate! I've searched to find a way to fix the issue but there doesn't seem to be a way on our end.
I've been using Viber for a month since September 2. Once one of public groups I joined declined to load new messages, chats and calls were OK. I've cleaned app cache and data today mostly because of issues with groups, installed latest update and all chats are gone. Flawless. Additionally, permissions required for call filtering to work properly seriously slows down the device because of ad (mostly Alfa-Bank Belarus I even never looked for).
I am using this app and it works convenient. But recently, when I try to log in on a new phone, it is very hard to log in. Viber does not send me the SMS code or the activation call for OTP. I tried using mobile data, turning off VPN, and changing devices, but still, I cannot get the code. Why is this happening? How can I fix this problem?
Charges pounds for dollars. I tested the $4.99 option. I was charged £4.99 and received $4.99 in credits. The rate card lists calls to the UK as 2 cents per minute. I was charged 15 cents per minute. I'm suspicious of the reviews posted here. The top 2 reviews are 5 stars. Both were posted less than 2 weeks ago. One has over 900 likes one has over 800. Scroll past those and there is a long list of 1 star reviews.
Very functional chatting app, and a good alternative to WhatsApp. Definitely underrated as it doesn't seem to have much of a user base in North America. Two things I'd like to see improved: - Make features of group chats like polls available to regular (1-to-1) chats, even if it doesn't make sense - Voice messages include the sound that signals the start of the recording, and that shouldn't be the case
horrible horrible service, everytime I try to make a phone call, the other person I call can never hear me because the line keeps cutting out. tried customer service and they were unhelpful and couldn't fix the issue. decided to end my subscription and all of a sudden my account it blocked for some reason, still got 12 more days on my current plan. definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.. it's a nightmare of an app and service.. it's a joke...
Viber is a popular messaging and calling app, but in my experience, it requires a very strong internet connection to work properly. Even with decent mobile data, the call quality is often poor. The voice does not sound clear, and sometimes it is hard to understand the other person. Video calls also freeze or lag if the network is not stable. Compared to other apps,
Lots of bugs/technical issues; for example notifications or calls not being alerted to a user. The no option of backing up data from desktop, only through the phone app, like it makes a difference if you are using the new Microsoft Windows feature where you use apps on your PC. The Desktop app does not accept virtual cameras like the one OBS provides. You can't, or are limited to not being able to share your screen without a physical camera. Just why? This can be bypassed with Camo Camera app.
Tried to register with two different Motorolas in Norway (on different networks). User registration clearly doesn't work as intended. And it is not possible to set up the app. As activation codes is not received (via either phone or sms). Tried to bring up the issues with customer service. They do not seem to bother to take the issues further with backend IT (those who are able to fix these general issues with the app, in what might be certain areas or markets). After what I can understand.
