This is really a nice app but it needs some room for improvement like setting new frequency that letting to connect on vhf handheld radios, has a Cts or rcts or something operation like a handheld radio
Reviews for RCForb Client
← Back to RCForb ClientWorks great on my galaxy 9 and 21 phones and my moto ace. Love being able to remote in to my 7300 and 7100 from my phone, and being able to give others access to the radio as well.
Well, I just paid 10 bucks for an app that doesn't work. It's a scanner, that's all because when though I can push the PTT button, it does not capture what u say, so I cannot transmit.
Great program, have been using for 6 mths. however now the Android app station list does not update, the PC version is almost instant. Please keep up the support, I would hate to see this app die.
Very well used. However, I request two things. 1. Can't you connect automatically if the network is broken? 2. If I listen to it for a long time, the screen becomes white and it becomes frozen.
Great app. Had some problems getting audio transmitting. Problem was microphone didn't have permission on Android on Samsung it was fixed by going to settings then down to apps select RCforb then permissions and enable microphone
I am not very happy with site keeps coming back error comes up saying the username and password is always incorrect even no it's not true when I tried to listen to overseas seize and in Australia keeps coming back up saying guest is not you have to sign up account very unacceptable and why are we playing $12.99 to get on this site
Great software for Amateur radio remote. You just have to read the pdf manual or watch youtube video to help you make it work. Ones I got it running the sound was awesome and operators gave me good audio reports and they tought i was on my HF radio but when they found out I was on my android phone they said awesone audio! LoL. Works very good and great Edit and control options so your HF radio wount be burn if you share your radio! also works with HDR and others softwares 73's & have fun!
Seems to be some issues with the Pixel 4 My buddy with the 3A has the same issue. Could just be my lack of understanding of how everything works. This is a cute little app I know it's in its infancy and I'm looking forward to see it developed into a full featured product. Nice piece of work gentleman.
I've spent quite a bit of time experimenting trying to remote into my IC-7100, VNC, Skype , FLDigi etc. but RC Forb is a breeze in comparison and the best $10 I've ever spent on an app, worth loads more in my book. Absolutely awesome, if you can't stretch the $300 for the RigPi this is the next best thing. Initially not apparently obvious you can control your own rig as well as others but the penny soon drops, the trouble its too simple, it just works! These folks deserve a H-U-G-E pat on the back, does everything it says on the tin and more, can't fault it. THANKYOU!!!
FEATURE REQUEST: This app has been fantastic over many years for me however I would love to see one feature added which will greatly enhance the use of the app (especially while mobile): Can you please add SPP Bluetooth support for the numerous Bluetooth PTT Microphones (and stand alone BT PTT buttons) that are available for other apps like Zello, etc? This simply requires the RcfOrb app to listen for the SPP commands "+PTT=P" and "+PPT=R". This feature would make cheap devices like the Anysecu / Inrico B01 microphone work perfectly with RcfOrb! (Audio already works great using "on call emulation", but SPP PTT buttons are not recognised by RcfOrb at the moment). Thanks!
Just wasn't working at first then I read on the website that you have to go into your permissions for your applications and allow it to use your microphone once you do that it will work. Might make a suggestion to the Creator of this app to have it ask for the permission. It went from a one-star to a five star so keep up the good work and I'm glad to have supported this project.
It is a great app. Those complaining about not being able to transmit clearly do not understand the concept. One thing that certainly can be improved is sending CW "as you type" similar to PC client. Used when travelling to different parts of the world. Worked fine every time.
When recalling the local or remote memories via Android App, it will not turn on the transceiver repeater shift or set the PL tone, even though they are correctly stored in memory. I have to manually set them via Menu/Drop-down. This process functions flawlessly using RCForb Client on tablets, desktop or laptop PC's. This issue only arises when using the App and occurs on 2 different cellphones.
Really like the way this works, I've got my Icom 7300 working as a private remote to my phone with a noise cancelling headset as well as a laptop at work so I always have my radio station with me. I can also open up my radio to friends who aren't as high up. There are a couple of small niggles that need ironing out but thy are minor settings issues. I look forward to using updated features. EDIT: I purchased an Inrico PTT Microphone for use with this but it does not work the PTT as expected, the mix works via Zello & other similar apps, I hope this can be fixed in an update.
I really like this app. It works excellently and does what it is supposed to do. However, I'm having a little problem - I am using hearing aids which are coupled to my smartphone via bluetooth. These work fine for making phone calls, too. The built-in microphones of the hearing aids are used, in this case. But within RCForb, it is not possible use them in a reasonable way. When I set the "Bluetooth On Call" Emulation active, the micros are used, but it is no longer possible to alter the RX Volume, and everything is way too loud. When I disable the "Bluetooth On Call" function, I can well hear the audio in my hearing aids but always my smartphone's built-in microphone is used which renders it unusuable when I'm pursuing activities like bicicle-riding, where my phone's in my pocket.
This program it's definitely a winner! One of the friendliest and easiest to configure. It allows you to control your ham radio remotely. It didn't take long to get it going. Thank you NOTE: There some minor issues with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus --Like not accepting previous passwords. I am sure the developers are aware of it and fixing it. I fully recommend this program!
As of yet, I have only had the option to receive, after registration and uploading an "Official copy" of my license, in the proper format and after sending requests to Tx to several "open to all" stations. By the time I decided that it simply isn't worth $10 for partial functionality, the option to refund was no longer available. Please, change my mind. K8MCB
This app works great for remote opps! A game changer. Don't give up if you're trying to make the whole thing work. One hint if anyone's stuck...on the server side at your computer be sure to turn off your firewall including the Windows Defender firewall. It won't port forward otherwise. This is where I got stuck. I hope this helps someone. kf0msd
If you can't get audio to radio (solved) The solution was to check app permissions and see if they are enabled for your android mic. This was the only problem I encountered while beta testing. The program beta was installed by me and when that happened the android system updated the version on my phone but did not ask for app permissions as I had already checked them on when I first installed the stable version. This led me to think there was a problem somewhere but no idea where. Solved!
