I love the stories from this app. I started a show, forgot I had already logged in on this app a long time ago, so then when I went to log in for coins it lost all the progress id made on the show. Absolute bullcrap, I sat and watched ad after ad just to get as far as I did just to have to restart.... the ad to episode ratio is horrible. I love the stories but would never recommend to anyone due to the ads and wait times.
Reviews for ReelShort - Stream Drama & TV
← Back to ReelShort - Stream Drama & TVLove the short stories, but I hate that I have to pay or earn coins to watch. I would love to watch straight through instead of in pieces!! I refuse to pay that amount for short stories that are full of interruptions and commercials No matter how much I love them they aren't worth that ridiculous weekly fee!! Not even movie apps cost that much!!!!
This app is not free at all. You get to watch several short episodes, then they ask you to buy coins, or you have to watch ads. Then you get to watch several more episodes. So it repeats over and over. So basically, it takes a while to watch the full drama. There's several different ways to get more coins like quests or watching a different drama, but that takes a while to do. You can't just watch a full drama without a lot of your time. Like everyone says there's nothing for free.
I read the reviews for this app and downloaded it anyways, trying to give it the benefit of doubt. UPDATE. I still think this app is a waste of time. You want me to use real money to buy episodes of books/movies where the ads are longer than the clips you watch and after that it's not like you own a copy of the story to rewatch whenever. Don't wait for the free episodes to reset if you only have a few episodes to watch cause it won't. If you don't use your free coins you lose them. Not worth it.
I've always seen these apps but never opened. This time, I was on another app & there was a commercial for here & it friggin grabbed me!!!! I fell in love with the story! I am having an issue with having to wait & collect coins to watch an episode tho. It would be better if you got one entire story to watch for free & then with all the rest you need to collect coins. But please keep up the amazing work you all do! This is incredibly awesome!
The only thing that I dislike about this app is that "Auto-Unlock" is a default rather than something that I get to choose to enroll in for the series that I want to auto-unlock. So all my bonus rewards get used on episodes that I don't want them used on. *Note: you can turn off the Auto-Unlock but you can't seem to do that until after it's started auto-unlocking without informing you.
I found ads for this app on Instagram, and, while installing it, thought how it would be fun to watch episodes. Wrong. You have a certain amount before you need to pay in coins, which aren't easy to get. It's a bunch of one-minute clips. I thought I would love this app. I'm only giving a two instead of one because I like the episodes
Im going to finish the 1 story I started. But it takes too long to finish for FREE without buying credits or watching ads to see a 1 min episode... DAYS. On top of that, the other way to get credit/coins is to download and use other apps. BEWARE. I came across two that had viruses attached to them. So all in all, although I have enjoyed the little mini show, it's not worth the headache or security issuses.
This app is terrible! The episodes are one minute long, ok no biggie, but to watch the next one is impossible! You have to watch an ad but it never loads, it says "add not ready yet," or pay $19.99 for 7 days of content or $199.99 for a year. Really?? You can get full shows and movies on Netflix, Hulu, Prime, for less!
I don't mind ads, as I know it helps to fund the app, but they're so long and you can only watch up to 5 in a given time? I would: A) shorten the length of the ads B) make it so you get more than just one episode/ad and/or C) lower the subscription cost. The point of reels and short form content is that it's bingeable and holds your attention. Ads blocking it kills the attention, & $20/week is too much for the product IMO. Respectfully, I'm not paying more than I pay for Netflix for this app.
Pricing for paid subscriptions is ridiculous. $20 for a week or $200 for a year. All the major streaming services offer much better content at much better prices. Technically you can unlock episodes by watching ads, but barely. Trying to watch a series with 70 episodes, I was able to watch 8 episodes totaling less than 12 minutes of content before I hit the daily limit for ad-based unlocking (5 episodes/day for one ad each, plus 3 more for coins earned from daily check-in plus 8 more coin ads)
A rip off that wants to charge you for what you've already seen before charging you more to finish the story. EDIT: Despite the dev's response, the fact is that when you download the app, it lets you see the first 5 "episodes" (10 minutes-ish) free, when the ad already showed far more than that. So you have to pay to unlock what you've already seen, before you pay to unlock the rest.
Lets you watch one minute of scene then has you watch 30 seconds of ads at a limit of 5 per day, then you have to wait anywhere from 11 to 23 hours to be allowed to watch more ads. When your "movie" gets down to the last 5 scenes, they take away the advertisement option, and you have to earn coins. It's really not worth it. I get much more enjoyment listening to full cast audiobooks through by public library free app. I finished one whole film over two weeks, then uninstalled.
I had over 200 coins, and then when I went to unlock the next episode there were 0. The story that I was watching is so bad its good, the acting is awful but in an amazing way. But since without paying a ton of money I can't watch I won't be finishing. There is an option to watch a 30 second ad to watch about a 15 second "episode." But getting coins into unlock is pointless since they all just disappear.
I downloaded this app, because, the story didn't seem to bad. However, after I downloaded it I realized that you are not allowed to watch the entire video unless you pay. You can watch ads, however, there is a limit of five on those. It stated that in an aloted amount of time that you can start watching more ads to continue watching, but, the vidio doesn't continue, it keeps repeating the same part over and over, unless you pay more money. I find this app very expensive and disappointing.
It's way less than 3 star, but gave it a 3 so it would show in the reviews! I'm disappointed they added to make a choice in the movie. It would have been ok if you don't lose build up coins, but you do, and it doesn't matter if you are a VIP member or not; you still have to watch ads like a maniac to build up coins, or pay for coins and the episodes/ choices aren't cheap. And VIPs they pay a lot a week/ month/ year to now have to pay extra! UNBELIEVABLE! Very disappointed all the way around. 😢
You get the first 5 (less than a minute) episodes for free, then you have to watch an ad for another
I really wanted to like these little short stories, but the acting is pretty bad. like, second day of theater club bad. some of them, if not all of them (because I only watched a few) are not realistic at all. I downloaded it because I kept seeing ads on FB & that stories alone was just disappointing and fell short on the mark. I also don't like the ad portion. after 15 reels you can watch up to 5 30-60 sec ads which add 2 reels. it's more annoying than anything
Cheesy drama, I like it but not enough to pay to watch an unlimited amount of reels a week or to even purchase coins. It's irritating when I have to watch the same episode that I left off the day before, then start watching ads to see 4 episodes. The episodes are about 1 1/2 to 2 min long. You can watch a certain number of ads to get free coins, but a lot of the ads or 2 for 1 but you only get credit for 1. I had almost 900 coins & that didn't even get me 30 min of watch time.
this one is pretty good, but I bought VIP access by accident, and when it expired I was almost finished with one of the stories. It locked over half of them again, making me start way back. I was also not able to get a refund through the Play store for the accidental purchase. I had for some reason not removed Google pay yet, and just brushed the screen, and ended up spending money that I really couldn't afford to spend. This app is expensive for the paid version.
