It’s the best Japanese learning app I’ve used so far! The graphics are cute, and it shows you how to write kanji, listen to what words sound like, and create mnemonics to remember them. the only thing that I would suggest to improve is the explanations for some of the Japanese lessons in resources. Some […]

One of the greatest apps for learning Japanese I’ve found. Not only is it mostly community ran, but the creators are supportive and reasonable. I haven’t gotten any ads yet, and the pro version isn’t needed at all to learn! There are forums to ask questions, a dictionary, and much more. I don’t know if […]
Absolutely love this app!! so far it’s incredible! one suggestion if it’s not added already, please add the columns so it’s not just mashed together! I seen a chart and it seems this is all mixed up. Other than that, the art is super cute too!! the app is amazing and free no ads at […]
love this app!!!!!! I’m using it to learn vocabulary. I turned notifications on just now, I’m unsure if there are reminder notifications, but it would be great if there were maybe a widget with kao-chan and maybe the daily challenges so that you can remember to learn? would be a cool feature, but it’s not […]
I’ve been using Renshuu for over a year and it’s one of my key apps that I use for learning Japanese. it’s highly customizable so I have settings that are perfect for my learning goals. when I’m really busy or struggling with motivation, I can at least do some of my vocab or kanji study […]
This app has been genuinely γγγ and has been a great help for memorizing the letters. My favorite part has been some of the games they have, most apps have games, but you can’t really play them because they demand kanji knowledge, and I’m just not at that level yet, but this one gives you […]
I have spent a while on Duolingo, contemplating whether to spend money to improve my learning experience. Not only is this app far superior in knowledge, community, resources, and learning techniques. But it’s basically completely free, and even so the pro version has a far better price scale and even a lifetime one time fee. […]
One of the best free pieces of software available anywhere. The tools provided and customization available for them make progressing with learning Japanese fun, easier, and more convenient. The amount of effort put by the two owners into the art, user interface, and quality of life for users is stellar and has contributed to so […]
This is a must-have if you’re learning Japanese. It has a mix of serious “get down to business” learning and GAMES. LOTS AND LOTS OF GAMIFIED CONTENT. In the span of 1 day, I’ve greatly improved my typing skills because I got addicted to Shiritori Cat (you play against the content library… speed is of […]
I have been using this app for a few months now. I have found this to be by far the best app for learning, and I really appreciate how customizable it is to what I want to focus on. It is so easy to look up a word or kanji in the dictionary without interrupting […]
There’s many resources out there for learning Japanese (and I’ve tried a lot). I feel that renshuu has the best balance of grammar, vocabulary, and reading/writing practice that I’ve seen out of them all, regardless of your skill level. The added games are also a great way to break up study sessions while still practicing […]
honestly the best Japanese learning app I’ve used, learning on this app is not only fun it’s actually informative. When you get something wrong it’ll explain what you did wrong in detail to help you improve. I’ve used it for less than a week and it has helped me gain huge insights into both formal […]
One of the best apps for language learning ever. Has a great set of vocabulary, Kanji, and sentences to keep one progression holistically. Also has a great UI and community of learners. Most importantly content is not behind a paywall like many other great apps (like Kanji Study), while still remaining on-par with them.
Easily the best Japanese learning app. I’ve tried five different learning apps in the last three months. Renshuu has everything from a dictionary for words, grammar and kanji built-in. Teaches vocabulary and grammar through lessons and controllable quizzes. Plus all of this is built in the apps core so it’s free and they won’t stop your […]
great for hiragana and katakana practice. their approach/study for kanji is terrible. it doesn’t help at all, they need to start from scratch for kanji. the explanations are confusing. you just need to start with simple numbers 1-10 kanji. then add the most common kanji like watashi, nichi, hito, ect. and build with basics first. […]
i have been using this to get back into learning Japanese, and it’s the first thing I have stuck with for a really long time. it is really easy to learn at your own speed, all the quizzes are very adjustable to your needs. the garden element is fun and further encourages study, and i […]
Fantastic app with everything you need to learn Japanese – vocab, grammar, kana and kanji (the user-submitted mnemonic devices are especially helpful) plus an integrated dictionary. You can customize your learning experience as much or as little as you want: use the pre-made study schedules, or ones made to accompany various textbooks, ones made by […]
this is the most consistent I’ve been in trying to learn a language! this is a pretty comprehensive app. obviously, you’ll need to supplement (as if most methods), but it explains things clearly and if you’re still confused, the community is amazing. edit: found conjugation tips! they’re a paid feature, but honestly with how much […]
First free Japanese learning platform I’ve seen that actually includes pitch charts for each word, AND a ton of customization and free resources for however you best learn. Also the only things to pay for are either pure cosmetics, convenience, or extra types of questions; so not a sign of greed in sight! Only time […]
I haven’t spent much time using this app so far (still studying basic grammar), but as it stands, I like what I see! The content of the lessons is good so far, and I especially appreciate the drawing/stroke order for the Hiragana. My one issue is more personal preference, as in several questions Kanji is […]
