There are missing features in the mobile app. I am unable to select preset points or sound my siren or turn on the light through my mobile device. I was able to do it before the update, but now it's no longer an option. This is so frustrating. It has me looking at other cameras in services. AND YES I HAVE TRIED UNINSTALLING AND THE REINSTALLING! I have a galaxy note 20 ultra.
Reviews for Reolink
← Back to ReolinkThe option to write over storage once storage is full has stopped working. Now, once it's full, it just stops saving videos to storage, and you don't get a notification letting you know. One day, you need to watch something, and there's nothing there. Also, my Samsung tells me that Reolink is using high background energy and that it needs to be put into deep sleep all the time as well. I don't know what happened to this app, but I wish you could use all the camera features without using the glit
After I set up the WiFi password and unplugged the camera from the router, restarted it and the app, it takes a long time to establish connection - minutes, sometimes it looks like it won't connect. Another issue, I only managed to get good video at night once, then it was always BW. Idk how I managed that, the app navigation needs improved and be more transparent. The camera didn't detect me after going through all settings and schedules enabled, no alert received
The live feed is generally good. However, the playback and storage features suck. Sometimes they work, and often they don't. I get messages that there were no videos recorded for the month, when I just watched recorded videos on it the day before. Or, the playback will just pause in the middle of playing and then just spin and completely stop. I use these cameras to monitor my seizure dog, and they've been extremely unreliable. I will be looking elsewhere for something that consistently works.
Hit or miss. I will receive push notifications for a little while and then they stop. When I check my settings, they're still set to on but I get nothing. One time the app was set to remove permissions if not used and when I changed that, the notifications came back, which is stupid because the app is used often so no permissions should have been removed. Now that setting is still off and my notifications are on but I'm getting nothing. Very frustrating. When the notifications do work,it's great
Connection errors! Sometimes the app connects quickly to my wifi cameras, sometimes I have to refresh them a few times before I can connect. Sometimes they don't connect at all. Tech support tries to help but ultimately they blame it on wifi interference and/or to reset the router, which doesn't work no matter how many times they repeat it. The bottom line is that their app is faulty.
Have used this app for years with little issue. Sometimes cameras don't come up, but that happens with any app. Since the update in December, though,, the app crashes right after opening. Sadly, until they fix whatever they did this last update, the app is useless if it won't open. I hope they fix this quick as right now I can't see any cameras on my system. Try it and see if it works.
Could be better. Coming from Blink and Arlo. They were easy for the homeowner to use. But I needed 24/7 recording because of missed events. With one click you could see all your motion alerts lined up in order. With Reolink you have to open the app, choose a camera, hit playback, select filters, enable grid view, then scroll all the way to the bottom to see the latest events. And you have to do this with each camera. A quick and complete list of motion events should be high priority!
Well, this was working fine until recently. Something has changed. Now, I'm unable to connect remotely unless my phone is connected to the local system via local wifi. As soon as I disconnect from local wifi, bam, it's gone. I can't even view it from other wifi connections. Very useless now. Definitely was a 5 star rating. Now I'll give it a 1
After the recent app update (Feb '24?), it has a difficult time connecting to the different camera streams through the Reolink DVR. Works about 20% of the time now, where prior to the update it was 99% success rate. Update: I contacted support. I spent several hours sharing my experiences, including sending them screen capture video. They finally concluded that installing a much older version did not experience the same issues. They insisted on closing the case since a "solution" was found.
very disapointes in the performance. Everytime that I needed this to work, it never did. Takes forever to connect, by the time I need to check the situation, its too late. I have a 1TB up and down of internet speed and this junk is always struggling to connect. Its always getting triggered by things I set NOT to pay attention like car and other things far away. Total waste of money and time.
I can not recommend buying Reolink cameras. I have a doorbell and a few solar cameras around my property and I can't even get playback to work at all. It just buffers and says 'Playback Failed'. It looks like the camera recorded clips but I can not get them to play. All I can really do at this point is live view and I sometimes get a buffer icon and 'Livestream Failed' at times. I've had these camera for over 2 years and the only time I had a seamless experience was in the very beginning.
Downloads are limited to 120 seconds each (up from 30), still a major fault. I have 5 minute files stored in the camera, why can't I get the whole file in one step, like I can in the Windows app??? My bandwidth, my storage, why are you throttling me Reolink? Amcrest has much better app for that. Also, app does not let me see remote camera's local IP, so I can have port forwarding on NAT to it at their router, and download videos that way...
More trouble than it is worth. The cellular version has a very poor radio in the camera. multiple carriers all perform the same spotty and sporadic. The app only wants to stay connected to the camera when in live view. when trying to view recordings connection will drop more often than it won't. So much potential for their products but poor execution.
The camera itself is great. The problem I keep running into (Everytime) I try to pull up the video, it can't connect. it's basically useless now. Glad it at least worked when my dogs autoimmune disorder was causing her to bleed excessively randomly. But they are both old and I can no longer check on them when I'm at work and worrying about them. I've tried so many ways.
Often I open the app and I get duplicate cameras in place of others. so I pull up a camera and it shows me a different one. Very poorly laid out app. The settings are not well laid out. It seems like most of the wording has been written by somebody that English is not their first language. The menus need a lot of work and reorganizing. Very disappointing for how expensive the cameras are. It's hard to find events in recorded footage. push notifications keep turning off. Overpriced garbage.
The app used to be pretty reliable. However recently for some reason when I swipe from one camera to the next, it somehow duplicates that camera. So instead of having two separate cameras, one of them is replaced with a copy of the first one so I have two of the same camera. The only way to fix this is to delete one of them and re-add the camera that was overwritten. This is exceptionally frustrating, especially so when I'm not there to add the camera AGAIN. Please fix this.
it's meh. i cant use it on cellular signal my phone has to be connected through wifi. you can't adjust the camera layout. You can't scroll or swipe to the next camera. It's less intuitive than both the nvr ui and the pc client. Playback sucks because it is difficult to pinpoint events even with a stylus. It eats batteries and heats my phone. It's not great by any means. I have had a 10-cam system since 2021 and just added 7 more. With that, I thought it would be nice to have the app.
The latest update has added to the numerous problems that the past few updates caused. When I first started using the app it was very nice. You could arrange the cameras for viewing the way that you preferred. With updates, that option went away. Many people complained to no avail. Now, the newest update has stopped the notifications by email. I depend on these when I'm out of town. When I test the email alerts that once worked seamlessly, I get a 400 error message.
App is decent but way too many calibration option. one thing where it falls flat with android/samsung phones is with doorbells. It allows you to configure the ringtone on your phone when someone rings the doorbell and you have to pick up the incoming "call", but that ringtone default leads to message tone list in my phone instead ringtone list. So all i can do is set a single message tone for when someone ringing the doorbell. Easy fix for Reolink but haven't done it in a few years.
