I do not like the 24 hour clock. Also, it's hard to pull up a time at a stop. If you want another stop, the schedule clock goes all the way back to early morning. This is my first day using this ap, so I have a lot to learn.
Reviews for RideMETRO
← Back to RideMETROApp was good but not sure if there is a bug with the app recently because now it keeps saying check internet connection every time I try to see the bus arrival times. I have internet connection since all of my other apps work fine. Please fix this issue.
Thank you for the app! This is much better & so useful. 1).Please consider adding label features on the map, route tab; label the route icons with the bus # or rail line color, so that the user can see all labeled icons in the route rows. 2).Why doesn't the app show the schedule for bus 151? 3).I love seeing the selected route (similar to your website but) w/added bus location now!! Pls let us "pin" routes to our map/favs. 4).Enable close or "X" to restart w/in the app a new search or back reset
Awful & false "real time" tracking. I am sitting at the bus stop to drop off an essential employee. We were sitting here about eight (8) minutes ahead of schedule. The app showed the bus coming down the street and turning the corner to pass the stop in "real time" five (5) minutes ago. No bus has come yet! It's one thing for the time information to be inaccurate, but for the "real time" data to be false shows this app is not tracking the bus AT ALL. This is useless and fake. SHAMEFUL, Metro!!
Awkward app, confused and sent a guy the wrong way ( now stuck downtown tonight (?)). HUMONGOUS BLOAT, forced prioritizing your location & my location setting is Off! Background feed to Metro ( METRO using folks phones for their realtime benefit). New app even has more stuff at the front end pages & folks have dig further through larger menus to get to what they are looking for than the old app. Work through the layers; it DOES NOT PROVIDE PDF schedules ('Error' message and one cannot report).
This app is virtually useless, especially on weekends when it seems that buses come whenever they want to. Real time tracking hasn't been working for as long as I can remember, so it only displays scheduled arrival times. Keep in mind that trains and buses frequently leave early from platforms too!
Buggy & unreliable app! Just like the other reviews, there's no real time tracking. It keeps you hopeful that a bus will arrive in 7 mins, but then 7 mins turns into 12-20 mins! Both this app & the buses are off schedule. Metro sent out a survey & apparently they don't care about running on time.
The app is always crashing and the ETA for buses real time and schedules are almost always not accurate so I ts quite difficult to plan a ride. The little green bus icon that shows where the bus is at any given point almost always does not even show up. It's like no one is even maintaining, updating or debugging this app.
Being able to save locations such as favorites would make this app better. And it's no longer working like it used to...Now it doesn't even have the correct "real-time" on busses. Metro is my only form of transportation. I WANT to like this app, but I can't. Google does a better job... 😑 Update: it was MERGED from 2 apps to one! And it's actually "real-time." I actually really like it now! Lol 😂
Realtime tracking is a misnomer. Metro buses do not actually have a real GPS. The app gets it's information from Metro in a relay. There's a definite time delay in that relay. I might be on the bus already and the app shows it's not arrived yet. Othertimes it shows that the bus came past but I've been waiting and never saw it. Then it arrives a while later.
This app is useful for determining your best route and which metro bus numbers to catch at which stops; however, do not rely on the real time tracking. If the app says a bus in real time is ten minutes away, it could be 1 minute or 45 minutes away dependent upon peak times or if the driver is hauling a** through stops and decides not to stop for you. This happened to me, and I started walking because it was nightime and fell on the curb fracturing my knee all because of a driver not stopping.
This is a dope app because based on location, you are provided several bus route options based on whether you want to have a shorter walking distance, shorter travel time and/or least transfers used. The app auto-populates as you progress throughout your journey. Metro is a fool for that...Wow, I honestly expected a redundant app from ya'll, however I'm eating my words. Metro for the longest had thrived on inefficient, menial, and boring activity. In 2021, times sure have changed for Metro.🥴
not sure why the search bar disappears after the recent update but that is literally the only viable way to quickly find the bus you need. now the app is borderline useless as its GPS locator has never correctly pinned my location and even still its much easier to just search the bus im supposed to be on and checking the route as opposed to going through a list or moving the map around until i find the area I am in
the app no longer works. The app won't let me type my location and is extremely unreliable. 👎
Horrible!! Aside from a few rare instances, I have had terrible experiences with the app. The most recent was when I walked up to a bus stop one Friday with the app telling me that I had 3 minutes to wait. 10 minutes later, the app tells me that the next bus is on Monday. Apparently, the driver ignored the timetable and was flying through the route to start the weekend. Why have this app if the human factor makes it absolutely useless??? Don't waste your time!!
Really not great. The times are only accurate half the time, and even then, I've missed the bus by 2 minutes when the app says I still have time.
Still cant search bus routes anymore and this app doesn't update you on buses skipping stops and would only be useful if drivers actually did their jobs. Metro lets drivers do whatevee which makes this app and google maps info pointless.
I swear...Houston Metro BUS DRIVERS NEED TO KEEP GPS ON. Many drivers are turning their GPS off, making it impossible to know when the bus is actually coming. I've had buses 30 minutes away show up in 5 minutes (and vice versa).
I'm tired of being shown live time estimates that are inaccurate. The app will display in green that the bus is 15 minutes away, then when I open it again 30 seconds later the bus has teleported and it's already at the stop and I've missed my bus. I assume this is because my phone lost connection and it's using an old estimate, but it really should not be rendering old estimates on the screen. If the app is refreshing time estimates, SHOW A LOADING SIGN. I shouldn't have to second guess times
Dangerously misleading in a crisis. Though useful under normal circumstances the app doesn't do a good job of notifying when the metro shuts down (such as due to weather). It keeps calculating arrivals as if the buses were still running. This can string the user along with false hope of evacuation until your phone dies, the hotels are full, and you're facing the prospect of a night on the streets.
