absolute garbage for trying to use one of the chargers that are supposed to be available for any ev. partnering with chargpoint only made it more unusable.
Reviews for Rivian
← Back to Riviangreat car. great company. a lot of pretty sad weak software UI stuff that still hasn't been fixed that really does make you wonder should I be trusting this platform to drive me down the highway at high speeds with no hands on the wheel?
After the latest updates I can say I am super happy with this app! The new app redesign looks and feels awesome, and really helped pull daily use items out to the front which is great. The fact this went from a 3 star to 5 star review (imo), I think the app team is knocking it out of the park! And guess what? They added the ability to open the charge port door from the app! 10/10 would complain again! Awesome work team, keep it up!
I don't have a rivian just use the app to find charging stations that work with all EVs. app works pretty good but I shouldn't need to give rivian a credit card just to look at a map. also there DC chargers are more expensive than other brands so that's disappointing. App also doesn't make it clear which stations work with non-rivian EVs.
It doesn't look like Rivian has responded to any of the reviews, maybe they don't care. My R1s now don't open or do anything when I stand closer to it, I have to open the app and manually use an option for it to execute the command. I don't know what happened to the vehicle that used to recognize me at a distance and unlock the door, but not anymore.
Would be a lot better if the car would wake up and respect any command. I cannot use the climate control, alarm, open windows or lift gate, basically any function you'd want to work will function properly about 10% of the time. Really poor connectivity, its functionally the same as carrying a keycard and that's about it.
in settings I have my app set to unrestricted background use, yet if I don't use the app for more than half a day phone as key doesn't work since the app closes itself on the background. this is confirmed by pressing lock on the widget and the app starts a new instance every time leading me to believe it is an issue in Rivian's side.
Get a 6-figure car with an app that is completely unresponsive on Android. What a treat. Scheduling service on par if not worse than Tesla with 1+ month waits. Save yourself some time and grief if you see this review before getting a Rivian - go with another brand. I also really appreciate getting an ICE car that smells like moldy cheese as a loaner.
The charger station in Breezewood PA is sometimes on the map, sometimes not. not a clear user journey for non-Rivian vehicle charging.
The app sucks! This is $100,000 car and the app is pathetic. On a weekly basis my R1T gets unpaired from my phone and I am unable to get into my car. Tech support is non responsive.
The app works perfectly for using it as a key and seeing useful information about the car. I wish all car brands apps were this useful and intuitive
they've made substantial improvements, but more are needed to ensure reliability. Gen 1 phone as a key is unacceptable at the moment.
This app needs some work. coming from the Tesla app, I'm really let down by this. Why do you have to zoom in to microscopic levels to see the available chargers on the map? it would not show the charger directly on top of me until I zoomed in an insane amount.
The app keeps getting better and uses very little battery. Pre-cooling/heating the R1 (even the seats), venting the windows and keyless entry are my most used features. You can see your range, monitor/edit charging, find the vehicle's location, manage drivers, file tickets and so much more. The new update brings a good look, everything is easier to access with bigger buttons.
The feature to upload pictures or images of issues with the service request is awful. It constantly fails, never lets me upload a video, and half the time only lets me upload a single photo per ticket. So I have to create multiple tickets just to convey information entirely. Then, the reps always call me and say the uploads didn't go through and I have to create even more tickets. Do better Rivian, I know you can.
App is great, some things missed in my opinion.1. Would like ability to change Amps during charging, I have multiple cars plugged and like lowering the amp to not trip fuse. 2. Would like ability to add another service appointment even if I already have one for mobile service, without need to call to get it added. 3. proximity unlock, while I like the unlock from a good distance as I approach the vehicle, but its also the case at home when I don't need it so It's now off so its not randomly open
Having had the truck for a few weeks now, I can say I want more out of this app. So many possibilities, some of which they state as options in the owner's guide that are not there. Like opening the tailgate, tonneau, front trunk, etc. I've not been able to pair the charger with the app either, but that might not be the apps fault? In any case, it's a good start, but I hope to see improvements along the way.
Lots of opportunities for improvement. For such a "new" product release, it's excellent. However, there are some features that wouldake the app so much more beneficial. 1. Add the ability to open and close the frunk and trunk. 2. Add the ability to have more granular temp control, and to control heated/ventilated seats. 3. A live map of the vehicle's location. 4. The ability to have keyless start on the vehicle via the app, for those who need a remote start. 5. Change the level of charge.
Really a great app, especially for a car company. However there is a bug that puts your car alarm in a loop if the car needs to be woken (also too easy to accidentally trigger). Not convenient if it's late at night and you don't have your key fob nearby. Will update back to 5 stars as soon as this is fixed.
I want to provide feedback, not necessarily a rating. Overall a good start and a lot to like about the app. Please look at battery usage. Currently on my phone it is too high. Allow the app to be opened from the persistent notification. The notification is labeled "Rivian phone key" with a second line of text "continuous Bluetooth enable vehicle access". The second line of text should indicate if the phone is connected to the car. So "connected" or "disconnected". Keep up the good work!
